About Donna - CyberRentals Member since May 2001

I currently reside in Manhattan, but enjoy my home in the off-season when it's not rented. I own a home staging business where I help home sellers make their homes look their best in order to sell quickly and for the best possible price.

Donna - CyberRentals Member since May 2001 purchased this house in 2000

Why Donna - CyberRentals Member since May 2001 chose East Hampton

The Hamptons are a great location to be in - whether to live or to visit. I fell in love with East Hampton while living out there for a summer and working at a bed and breakfast to see if buying and owning a B&B was what I wanted to do. Well, I decided it wasn't for me, but I ended up buying a house out there instead. What is so great about it is that it is the perfect combination of New York City people, culture, restaurants and shopping AND some of the most beautiful natural scenery in this country: beach, bays, blue skies, beautiful hiking trails, and more. I love going out there all year round - the off-season in Fall and Spring are the best.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Donna -- Thanks again, we enjoyed the house very much. What's wonderful about it is that it works for every generation -- the pre-teens love the pool, of course, it's clean and comfortable, plenty of space. Your kitchen is so well organized even my mother was impressed -- and she's the most organized person I know! Many thanks for making renting such a painless process. We are very interested in next summer, if it's available, and would probably take it for longer, so let us know when you start getting offers. Many thanks, Amy

lovely, comfortable home with beautiful pool

  • 5 of 5

We had a great ten days at this house. Furnishings were nice and very comfortable and the pool was really nice. While the location is a bit of a distance from downtown East Hampton, we ended up discovering new things to do and some beautiful views up in the Springs. Owner was great to work with, patiently answering all of my questions and providing us with lots of suggestions for things to do, restaurants, etc. All in all, we had a great experience.

Lovely stay at an amazing price

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful home. Loved the grounds, pool and outdoor shower. Beds were comfortable. Beach umbrellas, chairs and coolers were provided. Donna was super easy to communicate with. What prevented 5 stars was cookware that was very old and scratched up and looked like it had been purchased at a second hand store which is fine if in good condition but this was not the case. Also sone dishes and other kitchen appliances had dried stuck on food...kind of gross. Lastly, some bedroom doors squeaked which was disturbing at night. Other than that we had a lovely stay.

Owner's Response: Stephanie, thank you for the compliments on my home and me. But I am sorry you experienced some troubling issues. The cookware you are referring to is probably the saute pans and frying pans, probably most notably the ones with the non-stick surfaces. These were definitely not purchased at second hand stores. Unfortunately some renters are not as conscientious as you and don't take care of them as they should: they probably use Brillo and metal spatulas and utensils instead of wood or plastic and put them in the dishwasher instead of hand washing them. I feel like I am always replacing them, only to have them ruined by a renter or renters. They are probably due for a replacement and I will certainly do that. Regarding the stuck on food, I agree it is gross. I too have come to my house after it has been rented and have found food stuck on dishes and pots and pans because the renter put them away from the dishwasher that way instead of washing them again. Because of that recurring issue, I had asked my cleaning lady to do a check of all dishes and pots and pans as is reasonably possible. She may have run out of time that day and didn't do it, and I will speak to her. Regarding the squeaky doors, I was not aware of this issue and will certainly address it with WD40 the next time I am at the house. Right now I have a monthly renter there for July and so far no complaints. Thank you for your feedback.

Great weekend away with the girls!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed for a weekend with a few of my girlfriends and we had a great time. The house is beautiful, clean, spacious and looks exactly like the pictures online. The pool was really nice, but it was a little too cold to go in during the weekend that we stayed. Donna is quick to respond and very accommodating. The house is in a great location, about 10-15 mins from the town. I highly recommend staying here! Thanks Donna!

Plenty of Room, yet cozy

  • 4 of 5

Donna is a great communicator, responding quickly to all forms of communication. The house comfortably accommodated 6 adults and a well behaved 3 year old. It was clean and well-equipped and served our purposes nicely. We cooked three meals at the house and were never wishing for something that was not provided, including sharp knives, a garlic press, and plenty of cutting boards! We would definitely consider returning, especially when the pool is open.

Love!

  • 5 of 5

The house was exactly as pictured and located close to just about everywhere you wanted to go in the Hamptons. We came out to relax and this was just the place to do it. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed the pool everyday. Donna was super responsive and was readily available. The deck was great for group dinners. We loved it all!
