About the property

Tuscany | Casale Giuncarelli

The panorama from Casale Giuncarelli is one of the most beautiful views of Tuscany. The hills of Fiesole are pure Tuscan luxury, a green collection of cypresses, olive and pine trees. The city of Florence is literally at your feet.

The colonial country house Giuncarelli with swimming pool is located just above the center of Fiesole and has six beautiful apartments with a modern design and luxurious comfort. The area around Casale Giuncarelli is very quiet, but it’s easy to visit the town of Fiesole with restaurants, bars and terraces. The beautiful location on the hill and the short distance to Florence are Casale Giuncarelli’s main advantages. The farmhouse dates from 1700 and is surrounded by olive groves and oak woods.

The apartments are modern and cozy, decorated with care and detail. The swimming pool is 14 x 6 meter and 1,40 meter deep. Around the swimming pool you will find a solarium with sunbeds and parasols. There is also free Wi-Fi around the swimming pool.

Fiesole is a city that is located about 7 km northeast of Florence. Fiesole inspired many writers like Dickens, Shelly, Anatole France and Boccacio. It was an important city of the Etruscans. It is recommended to visit Florence using public transport from Fiesole. You can avoid parking problems in the city. The trip from Fiesole to Florence takes about 15-20 minutes.

Beautiful, quiet with sensational view

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Fiesole for 3 nights on 19 September 2017 as an alternative to the bustle of Florence and we are so pleased we did. Our apartment (Noce) was enormous and clean for our family of four. Daniela has renovated the farmhouse with quality interiors.

Although it wasn't so warm when we were in Fiesole, our children did still have a few swims (in very cold water) and the pool and gardens were clean, tidy and very well looked after. We would love to return when the weather is warmer to make greater use of the outdoor area. The view is outstanding.

Daniela was very helpful and not intrusive at all. She realised one of my daughters was afraid of dogs and we never saw her dogs while we were there. However, my kids were very enamoured by the cats and have since mentioned they miss them (Coco in particular).

A car is necessary as it is about a 5 minute drive to Fiesole town, which is lovely for a stroll, dinner, drink and gelato.

Also suggest checking the weather forecast as the heating restrictions imposed by law may mean you need to rely on the fireplace (we did light it one night) as the central heating could not be used (until around November, I believe).

Hope to return soon (in the Summer) as it is a little slice of heaven.

Thanks Daniela.

A beautiful country house

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time at Daniels's house. Daniela was very helpful and friendly. It was easy to catch the bus to go down in to Florence and return up to the peace and quiet for a refreshing swim. The pool was a big hit with the kids.

Lovely property, convenient to Florence

  • 5 of 5

Daniela is lovely and she has done a beautiful job with this house. Everything was perfect and the house came with coffee, tea, and wine in the kitchen, and toiletries in the bathrooms (maybe an extra roll of toilet paper would be nice!). The house is outside Fiesole, so there are tradeoffs. You get the peace and quiet of the country, a lovely view, great pool, good trails nearby for hiking, running and mountain biking. It's about 10mins to Fiesole, which is itself a great place to spend a day. From there you can catch a bus to Florence, but we actually ended up driving as there were six of us. I'd say it's maybe 20-30mins to Florence center, double that if you take the bus. You definitely need a car here, and some of the roads in Fiesole and environs are tight and our van was really not the right car! But it worked out. Overall, a relaxing and enjoying visit!

A highlight of our two weeks in Italy

  • 5 of 5

The house and location was absolutely fabulous! The view of Florence was extraordinary! We managed quite well without a car using the local bus service. Daniella is a kind and attentive hostess. I do not hesitate to recommend the villa, and would love to return. We got along fine without peaking Italian.

Great home base!

  • 4 of 5

NOCE worked perfect for our two adult couples. Daniela is a wonderful lady and made us feel welcome. Property is exactly as advertised and we would highly recommend staying here if you want to be outside the city. Everything was clean and neat. (Slight must odor in main living area upon arrival)

The property is somewhat hard to find and has a horrendous driveway! If you can get past the rocks, holes and ruts...the house is worth it. A car is almost required. It was very cold at night and we didn't have any additional blankets in our apartment. Daniela indicated that she has additional blankets available if someone asks. The only other drawback is that you are required to remove your own garbage and take it up to the top of the hill (traveling the terrible driveway again) which seems odd since we had to pay an additional 60euros for cleaning. ??? Most places that we have stayed include garbage removal.

Overall, a great property and a very nice owner. Would recommend this property.

Owner's Response: Thank you for appreciations and more for the sharp comments, we’ll take notice of them. We are sure that every suggestions coming from our guests help us to offer, every time, the best to them. Regarding our dirty country road we are fully conscious that the extremely rainy seasons taxed its 400 meters linking up Casale Giuncarelli to the main road. Historical and planning restrictions prevent us to asphalt this ancient route, anyway we are scheduling to carry out some road improvements to make smooth its condition.

Wonderful location, excellent service

  • 5 of 5

7 of us stayed in Noce apartment for 6 nights to attend a wedding nearby

There was plenty of room for a group who know each other well and the villa, pool etc. are beautiful and very well looked after

(the BBQ was lovely, Noce kitchen had a hob and microwave but no oven)

Daniela was exceptionally helpful and very friendly ... many thanks to her.

We managed without a car ... although you need to be reasonably fit and mobile, as it is a 10 min walk up the track to the road and another ca. 15 mins walk (with lovely views) down to the centre of Fiesole, from where there is a frequent bus service to Florence ... and we got taxis to/from Florence now and again, but this wasn't easy and would be pretty much impossible if you don't speak any Italian at all

I would highly recommend this as a lovely quiet spot to relax away from the bustle but close enough to enjoy the delights of Fiesole and Firenze as well

Owner's Response: Hello Margot Thank you for your appreciation ! I am very happy that you, your family and your friends enjoyed your holidays here at Casale Giuncarelli (On your opinion is the oven more useful than microwave? So I can evaluate to introduce it...) I hope to welcome you and/or your friends again in the next seasons Have a nice day! Daniela

At about 2 km from the villa is the town of Fiesole, one of the most prestigious areas of the hills around Florence, which since the end of the eighteenth century was one of the favorite places to stay by foreigners in Italy and who already bought the villas of Florentine nobility, restructuring them and providing them with beautiful gardens.

The center of the city is the Piazza Mino da Fiesole, where you will find the impressive Romanesque cathedral, Altoviti Palace (now the seminary), and the Municipality. Next to the seminar, a short but steep climb, leads to the Church of San Francesco.

Always near Piazza Mino, northbound, is the archaeological site with the Roman Theater, perfectly preserved, the remains of a necropolis of Roman baths and some other buildings of late-imperial. The theater is home to a theater season and summer music known as 'Fiesole Summer'.

A few meters from the Roman Theatre is the entrance of the Bandini Museum, home to an important and extensive collection of ceramics by Della Robbia.

The villa is only just 8 km from Florence which is easily accessible by bus. 7 Piazza Mino
