Jerry and Bev are life-long residents of Northern California. They have lived in wine country for 27 years and have hosted guests for 15 years. They farm Petit Verdot grapes on their property and know local wineries and the wine-making process.
Bev Stemach purchased this cottage in 2000
My husband and I stayed at the Acorn cottage for New Year's Eve weekend. We felt so at home, not only because of the beautiful property and cottage, but because Bev and Jerry are simply the best! We enjoyed relaxing inside and outside of the cottage as well as the hot tub. This by far has been the best experience we've had (and we've been traveling here for 12 years)! It was a wonderful way to ring in 2017! We will definitely be back:)
My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary here and it was just lovely!!! Bev and Jerry are just so sweet:) There is privacy and open yard to enjoy, very romantic and peaceful. The acorn house has everything you would need including homemade zucchini bread!! We will for sure be back:)
Acorn Cottage: Private, comfortable, well-appointed with great attention to detail, yet close to all the Kenwood area wineries. Jerry and Bev are great hosts, and we enjoyed our time with them so much. We wish they lived next door! Upon our arrival there was a loaf of home-baked bread, fruit, coffee, juice, milk, beer, water, soft drinks and of course wine waiting for us, not to mention the Acorn Cottage wine glasses which were a gift for us to take home. We enjoyed the cottage so much, we spent half of our time just hanging out there enjoying the peace and quiet and view of their 500 year old oak tree, which is magnificent. Can't wait to go back.
My husband and I recently spent a holiday away with friends at Acorn House. It is wonderfully located on a beautiful property, comfortable, cozy and welcoming. Central yet secluded it was the perfect getaway. E erything you need is available, you can do anything or nothing..sit by the fire and read a book, wander the property or take a quick drive to great wineries.
Bev and Jerry are marvelous hosts and they have created the fantastic Acorn Cottage within their gated vineyard. Acorn Cottage is marvelous, fully equipped and beautifully decorated. It is both gorgeous and comfortable at the same time in a very secluded setting. Renting the cottage also gets you private access to the hot tub which is just a few steps from the deck that surrounds the wonderful Acorn Cottage. There is also a pool on the estate, but it is not as private as the hot tub setting. Their hospitality is second to none and if you book this place, please be sure to make arrangements to visit the private tasting room in the nearby wine building. We will be back!
Just spent a lovely two-night stay at the cottage recently. What we discovered was a wonderful, romantic, cottage that was very private and centrally located to a number of excellent wineries and restaurants. We chuckled as we realized that we had passed this great place numerous times without ever knowing it was there. Bev is an outstanding hostess, giving us numerous recommendations for restaurants and wineries, and provided us with a wonderful wine-tasting experience at her own wine cellar on our second night there. Bev essentially treated us like welcomed family members. The cottage is very clean and cozy without being claustrophobic. The view of the 500 year old oak is superb; and the hot tub, provided for just your own use, was relaxing. We could not have asked for a better stay for my wife's birthday and this location ranks with the best in VRBOs that we have experienced. The experience was so fulfilling that I think my wife was trying to get Bev to hire her part-time and teach her the trade. LOL
We can't wait to return soon for another relaxing stay.
