Two double bedrooms with en-suite, two rooms with single beds and large bathroom

The house sleeps eight comfortably. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms with en-suite facilities and downstairs two rooms with two single beds each, with an adjacent family bathroom. Also available is a travel cot and high chair plus couchette which would be suitable for a young child.

2 upstairs bathrooms each have shower, toilet and hand basin. Downstairs bathroom has bath, shower, toilet and hand basin.

The property has a modern fully-equipped kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine which is open onto the air-conditioned living area with flat screen TV showing French and English programmes. Free Internet connection with Wi-Fi available. All linen and towels are supplied. The outside patio area has garden furniture, sun-beds and bar-b-q. The pool is secured by alarm.

Excellent House, Fantastic owners and Lovely Area

We are a family of 6 ( two adults, two 10 year olds and two 5 year olds) and stayed at the house for first two weeks of August this year. I cannot praise this holiday house enough. We have stayed in a number of properties in France and as a holiday house for a family this beats all the others easily.

We loved the holiday so much that we have already booked again for next year. It is rare we go somewhere twice in a row but when every member of the family said they wanted to go back next year we knew that was a sign we should do it.

The house itself is excellent. When we arrived it was spotless and with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms more than met the needs of a family of 6. A lot of thought has clearly been put into the house to make it an ideal holiday house. The rooms contain everything you need but are not full of ornaments etc that children can easily accidentally break. We have found ourselves in some previous holiday houses spending a while removing items when we arrive and replacing before leaving. There are insect nets over the windows upstairs allowing you to keep the windows open at night to keep cool and an air conditioning unit downstairs. The kitchen is also very well equipped. Outside the table has shade all day and we ate all our meals at the house on it. The swimming pool is surrounded on 3 sides by a good sized grass area which meant when the children had enough of the pool they could play and we could keep an eye on them whilst in the pool.

The owners Christine and Michael were lovely and all you can ask of owners. They live in the next property and after an introduction around the house leave you to enjoy your holiday unless you need them for some reason. When we arrived they had thoughtfully provided some essential supplies such as bread, milk, butter and wine! On the Sunday evening the dishwasher stopped working but by the Tuesday lunchtime they had bought and fitted a new one! Lots of extras that you pay for elsewhere are included in the rental here, such as towels, pool towels and cleaning of the house at the end of the stay.

The house is a pleasant 20 to 30 mins walk to Le Bugue the majority of which is alongside the river and you pass the Aquarium on the way. It is a lovely little town with several restaurants. The surrounding area provides a lot to do all within a 30 min drive and there is lots of info on these in the cottage.

All in all the title of this review sums it up Excellent House, Fantastic owners and Lovely Area.

Excellently appointed dormer holiday home

Being regular visitors to Le Bugue we stayed at the property for almost three weeks this year. The almost new house was spotless on arrival and was very well equipped and maintained with comfortable beds,seating and furnishings.

The television had both the French and main Sky UK channels.

The property's location is ideal for a stroll along the river bank or a 20 minute walk to the centre of Le Bugue.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful and we quickly felt at home.

The Le Bugue area has many attractions including the markets, canoeing, cycling,walking, historical sites and caves as well as a number of excellent restaurants within a 10 kilometer range.

We strongly recommend this property to our family and friends and know that you will be met with a friendly welcome and will enjoy the excellent facilities.

A modern, clean, extremely well equipped property.

The property had an accurate description. The layout was good and location was excellent. A short 10/15 minute walk to Le Bugue along the river. It was extremely well equipped with everything you could want. It was very clean and well maintained. The owners were very helpful and friendly. We even saw deer from the terrace. Attractions were all within easy driving distance. Lots of things to look at from the terrace/pool but still a very peaceful location. We would thoroughly recommend this property to friends/relatives. Chateaus, markets, caves a plenty to visit, so lots to do if required but a nice relaxing pool for quieter days. We had a lovely week. Thank you Michael and Christine.

Vacances idéales

Nous avons 2 semaines extra. La maison est parfaite : de la place, tout le confort comme a la maison, le calme et des propriétaires bienveillants.

Il y a des serviettes pour la piscine pour la douche et les draps pour tous les lits ! De quoi alléger la valise. Quant à la piscine : pas de vis à vis.

Le Bugue est en plus une très belle ville idéale pour rayonner dans la région.

Nous reviendrons !

Maison très agréable, calme et très fonctionnelle!

Nous avions loué cette maison pour 7 adultes et 4 enfants en bas âge. La maison est très spacieuse et nous avions largement assez de place pour ne pas être les uns sur les autres.

La maison est très bien équipée et comprend même beaucoup d'équipements pour les bébés et enfants (lit bébé, chaise haute, jouets, jeux...).

Les propriétaires sont des anglais très gentils. Ils habitent à côté, mais sont très discrets. Ils ont tout fait pour rendre notre séjour agréable (changement de la bouteille de gaz immédiatement, vidage des poubelles, nettoyage de la piscine...). Ils laissent à disposition dans la maison tous les produits d'entretien nécessaires, du gel douche, des serviettes de bains... Ils ont même rempli le frigo avec un peu de lait, beurre, jus de fruits... Les lits étaient aussi faits quand nous sommes arrivés!

La piscine est très agréable particulièrement lors des après-midis bien chauds! Le salon est climatisé, ce qui peut-être utile quand il fait très chaud.

La maison est située dans un quartier très calme et est entourée de champs sur l'avant. Le centre-ville du Bugue est à 5 minutes en voiture, mais il faut compter 15-20 minutes à pieds.

Le marché du mardi matin est assez grand et bien achalandé!

La ville du Bugue est très bien située pour visiter toutes les attractions et grottes du Périgord.

En conclusion, nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cette maison très agréable et la recommandons sans hésitation!

Le Bugue is in the Vezere valley region which is rich in prehistoric sites such as Lascaux and Les Eyzies. It has four supermarkets, a good medical centre, a good range of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants all a short drive or leisurely walk from the house. There is a bustling 800 yr old market on a Tuesday morning selling local French produce. The river nearby hosts very good canoeing as does the Dordogne river which is a 15 minute drive away. The Dordogne has river beaches. The local Aquarium and Village Le Bournat are both well worth a visit and are very close by. There are also children's theme park and a water activity park.
