The house sleeps eight comfortably. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms with en-suite facilities and downstairs two rooms with two single beds each, with an adjacent family bathroom. Also available is a travel cot and high chair plus couchette which would be suitable for a young child.

2 upstairs bathrooms each have shower, toilet and hand basin. Downstairs bathroom has bath, shower, toilet and hand basin.

The property has a modern fully-equipped kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine which is open onto the air-conditioned living area with flat screen TV showing French and English programmes. Free Internet connection with Wi-Fi available. All linen and towels are supplied. The outside patio area has garden furniture, sun-beds and bar-b-q. The pool is secured by alarm.

Lovely convenient holiday home

A lovely home within walking distance of all amenities in a very peaceful, pretty setting, and many villages worth visiting only 30-40 mins drive away.

Owners Christine and Michael have thought of everything to make this house feel like a 'home from home'. A welcome pack to start us off was lovely and even though they lived next door you were not aware of them, but they were on hand if needed.

Excellent idea in having the mesh over the upstairs bedroom windows enabling them to be left open 24/7 meaning no insects!!!

Would highly recommend staying here.

Terrific property with great touches for a perfect holiday

Great property, with pool, garden, living, BBQ & kitchen in such close proximity that everyone is in touch with everyone else whether playing, resting or cooking. Open plan living/dining/kitchen is well laid out with plenty of everything such as many spare plates, glasses etc so you're never waiting for the dishwasher to finish.

Lots of great touches by Christine such as shopping bags, cool bag, plastic crockery, cheese board/knives, pool toys etc make this place a cut above your average French holiday home. The 'welcome pack' is the most thoughtful we've had & sets up a great start to the vacation. Owners are nearby but invisibly helpful, eg handling rubbish collecting so no need for the usual rubbish bags in the boot of the car driving round to find the recycle centre.

Location is close to Le Bournat and the aquarium & an easy walk from Le Bugue centre but feels like it's in the country - we saw birds of prey & deer up close in the neighbouring farmer's field. Thoroughly recommend this property.

Lovely holiday cottage

Excellent House, Fantastic owners and Lovely Area

We are a family of 6 ( two adults, two 10 year olds and two 5 year olds) and stayed at the house for first two weeks of August this year. I cannot praise this holiday house enough. We have stayed in a number of properties in France and as a holiday house for a family this beats all the others easily.

We loved the holiday so much that we have already booked again for next year. It is rare we go somewhere twice in a row but when every member of the family said they wanted to go back next year we knew that was a sign we should do it.

The house itself is excellent. When we arrived it was spotless and with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms more than met the needs of a family of 6. A lot of thought has clearly been put into the house to make it an ideal holiday house. The rooms contain everything you need but are not full of ornaments etc that children can easily accidentally break. We have found ourselves in some previous holiday houses spending a while removing items when we arrive and replacing before leaving. There are insect nets over the windows upstairs allowing you to keep the windows open at night to keep cool and an air conditioning unit downstairs. The kitchen is also very well equipped. Outside the table has shade all day and we ate all our meals at the house on it. The swimming pool is surrounded on 3 sides by a good sized grass area which meant when the children had enough of the pool they could play and we could keep an eye on them whilst in the pool.

The owners Christine and Michael were lovely and all you can ask of owners. They live in the next property and after an introduction around the house leave you to enjoy your holiday unless you need them for some reason. When we arrived they had thoughtfully provided some essential supplies such as bread, milk, butter and wine! On the Sunday evening the dishwasher stopped working but by the Tuesday lunchtime they had bought and fitted a new one! Lots of extras that you pay for elsewhere are included in the rental here, such as towels, pool towels and cleaning of the house at the end of the stay.

The house is a pleasant 20 to 30 mins walk to Le Bugue the majority of which is alongside the river and you pass the Aquarium on the way. It is a lovely little town with several restaurants. The surrounding area provides a lot to do all within a 30 min drive and there is lots of info on these in the cottage.

All in all the title of this review sums it up Excellent House, Fantastic owners and Lovely Area.

Excellently appointed dormer holiday home

Being regular visitors to Le Bugue we stayed at the property for almost three weeks this year. The almost new house was spotless on arrival and was very well equipped and maintained with comfortable beds,seating and furnishings.

The television had both the French and main Sky UK channels.

The property's location is ideal for a stroll along the river bank or a 20 minute walk to the centre of Le Bugue.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful and we quickly felt at home.

The Le Bugue area has many attractions including the markets, canoeing, cycling,walking, historical sites and caves as well as a number of excellent restaurants within a 10 kilometer range.

We strongly recommend this property to our family and friends and know that you will be met with a friendly welcome and will enjoy the excellent facilities.

Le Bugue is in the Vezere valley region which is rich in prehistoric sites such as Lascaux and Les Eyzies. It has four supermarkets, a good medical centre, a good range of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants all a short drive or leisurely walk from the house. There is a bustling 800 yr old market on a Tuesday morning selling local French produce. The river nearby hosts very good canoeing as does the Dordogne river which is a 15 minute drive away. The Dordogne has river beaches. The local Aquarium and Village Le Bournat are both well worth a visit and are very close by. There are also children's theme park and a water activity park.
