Born and bred in Florence, where she still lives with a passion for art and culture of the city. She has a degree in Law, a practicing lawyer and, in his spare time, manages this apartment with passion
Maria Silvia purchased this apartment in 1996
This home is bright and quiet, has a beautiful south-facing terrace where it is possible, even in winter, sunbathe and enjoy the scents of the flowers that bloom throughout the year.
Most cozy apartment with large patio the heart of Florence. Maria Silvia's advice helped us to live like locals for a week - enjoying romantic walks, landmarks and lesser known markets. The apartment is filled with many books, ideas for day trips, brilliant tips for great food in remote corners of Florence (My Sugar, La Carraia and Ara come to mind) and a basket of local treats. Fast wi-fi and lots of natural sunlight made for a pleasant stay.
We were close to Mercato Cantrale, Ponte Vecchio, Santo Spirito and the Odeon Theatre - you will learn to love the 96 stone steps leading up to the apartment designed by architect Giorgio Vasari in the 1500s and the unique sound of the local carts making their way to the Mercato across the cobblestone roads.
We enjoyed our stay at the Terrace of the Lillies and recommend it. Maria Silvia is a most gracious and stylish host.
This apartment used to be Maria's home and she loves it as well as her city of Florence. Maria was very responsive to our inquiries. She met us in front of the apartment right at the appointed time and we found her a kind and very helpful person.
The apartment is very spacious for two and had everything we needed. The balcony was very pleasant. It overlooks the neighboring rooftops but you cannot see the street. Our favorite part was the bedroom window looking out on the dome of the cathedral. It is amazing to think that people have been looking out of that window and seeing that dome for over four and a half centuries. As others have noted, there are nearly 100 steps up to apartment located on the 5th level.
The location is wonderful. For four days we walked to everything we wanted to see, and we were never more that 30 minutes away, and the Ponta Vecchio, the Duomo, the Uffizi and dozens of restaurants are all within a 10 minute walk.
Florence is an amazing city and we could not recommend the city and the Maria's apartment more.
Right in the heart of Florence - and you have a small terrace to enjoy your coffee or wine. The only downside is the 97 steps to the flat. If you're ok with that, the flat is a true find and Marie Sylvia is so very helpful. it's close to all the attractions and great neighborhood restaurants.
Maria Silvia was a wonderful host, providing us with not only a map and suggestions of places to eat and visit, but also a bottle of wine and some pasta that we were able to enjoy after a love day out sight seeing. This location was perfect, near the water and Ponto Vecchio. There is a restaurant right across the front door entrance if you are too tired from exploring during the day to go far. Maria Silvia is wonderful. The apartment was perfect! Plenty of room to relax with a beautiful deck/patio to enjoy the outdoors. The kitchen has all of the essentials. I can't wait to come back!
We stayed in Maria's apartment and it was a great location with easy access to everything. The terrace was great and I sat out most mornings drinking coffee. The 97 steps were bit much with luggage but Maria was quite willing to help and once we got settled we got use to it. There were many nice touches in the apartment to make it comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked.
Beds were comfortable and all in all it was a lovely place to stay.
Thank you Maria!
Very nice and romantic apartment in the heart of Florence. Definitely would recommend for people to stay here and Maria was very helpful and sweet!
In the historical center of Florence, just 50 meters from the Ponte Vecchio, 100 from the elegant Via Tornabuoni, Piazza della Signoria and the Uffizi museum, 200 meters from Piazza Pitti and the Boboli Gardens, less than 400 meters from the station Central; the apartment is ideally placed for those wishing to explore on foot the center of Florence, is fully equipped, quiet and comfortable: From the window of the bedroom you can see the dome of the Duomo.
