This was a fabulous apartment with a fabulous host!

  • 5 of 5

Maria Silvia gave us lots of advice and suggestions for things to do and see in Florence. The apartment was large and very homey, with lots of little extras and personal touches. The terrace was the icing on the cake!

Excelllent location, tidy apartment.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our 3 night stay. Maria was very helpful and quick to respond to our queries; and shared plenty of local knowledge. The location made it very easy to access many of the major sights of Firenze, and made for an easy rest stop during a busy day of sightseeing. The apartment itself was comfortable with a very pleasant terrace. The 97 steps up helped to counter the many visits to the local gelateria.

Excellent value and great location for a family visit

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for several days in July as a family of four: the children shared the double bedroom, we slept on on the sofa bed. The apartment is charming and comfortable, with good air-conditioning for the hot July days, and the peaceful outdoor terrace is a real boon. We didn't do much cooking but it was useful to have self-catering facilities and be able to have breakfast, picnic lunch and takeout pizza on the terrace (there is a really good small supermarket 5 mins walk away, just across the Ponte Vecchio). The central location - steps from the Uffizi and the river - is brilliant when attempting to do cultural activities with small children in the heat; we could retreat to the apartment to cool off after every visit! Very good value for a small family but would also be a great apartment for a couple to rent. The owner was also extremely helpful and accessing and leaving the apartment was easy and without stress.

Comfortable for a long stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent one month in Maria Silvia's lovely apartment and had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The kitchen is well-equipped with pots and pans, cooking utensils, dishes etc. and we cooked many meals in it. The stove and refrigerator work well. There is a dishwasher but we preferred to wash dishes by hand. The furnishings were comfortable and attractive. The wifi worked very well. The roof terrace was heavenly, and includes a retractable sunshade for warm afternoons. We ate most of our meals on the terrace. The bedroom had lots of storage space for clothes etc and the bed was very comfortable. The two bathrooms were modern and worked very well. We stayed in March-April when there are still some cold nights, and the heating system worked very well (we did not need to use the air conditioning). Maria Silvia responded very promptly to a couple of minor requests that we had and resolved them to our complete satisfaction. It is true that the steps are a little daunting, but we considered them part of our fitness routine :) I loved the location and the feeling of being immersed in history. It's true there is some early morning noise from vendors moving their carts, but I use earplugs and rarely noticed it. At night the street was almost always very quiet, with no vehicle noise and only a couple of instances of late-night partying. I wholeheartedly recommend Maria Silvia's place!

Lovely apartment, excellent location, in Florence

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in this centrally-located apartment. The apartment is clean and comfortable. We loved the rooftop deck and ate breakfast and lunch in the sun. Maria is a wonderful host who knows Florence well. She had a list of gluten-free restaurants and bakeries ready for me. Also, she was able to tell us the location and hours of the closest grocery store as well as restaurants. Maria even gave us suggestions on where to visit/eat in Siena, the next town we visited. We did not mind the 97 steps up to the apartment as it kept us strong and ready for all the towers we climbed on our trip. We would easily consider staying at Maria's apartment again.
