This property has been in our family since 1968 and the house is the 2nd to stand on this location. The land was the largest of 4 lots which comprised a farm which dated back to the colonial era. The 18th century farmhouse is located on the road just down the hill from our house. Of the original 255 acre lot bought by our family, 89 acres are still ours, while most of the rest is now town land, donated by my parents and others as conservation land open for public recreational use. Most of our remaining land is now under conservation easement, with hiking and skiing trails open to the public connecting to trails on town land.
Matthew Walter purchased this house in 1968

Thanks for the great stay. The house was comfortable and spotless. We were in town for a wedding, and it was the perfect place to stay.
We rented this for family and friends for my daughter's graduation and everyone loved it. The views are amazing and the house has everything anyone could need for a comfortable stay. The bugs are crazy but we still had fun and enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks for a beautiful home!

This is a beautiful house with wonderful views across a meadow and into the hills. The design of the house is modern and attractive and really lends itself to easy, relaxed living. It is a generous home with plenty of sheets, towels, basic food stuff - all available to use. The kitchen is fully equipped and there are more than enough glasses, plates, pans etc. Caretakers live downstairs and are helpful and welcoming. Overall this is a delightful place to stay and I would highly recommend it.
The description of the house was perfect.
Everything was available as indicated in the advertisement. The house was very clean and well maintained. The people responsible have come to us to make sure everything was to our liking.
I highly recommend this place but it is important to have insect repellent!
