Awful treat received by the landlord. Incredible lack of professionalism

I have been lucky enough to travelled around the world which means I have had to use a wide range of different accommodations where I have been treated amazingly.Unfortunately in this occasion, I need to write a negative feedback about Patricia due to the fact she's just decided to take my deposit accusing my family for something that was already broken before we checked in. Her lack of proffesionalism is unbelievable as she wouldn't admit that the maintenance issue was before we steped in the property, therefore why do we need to take the blame?

I would like to warn to every potential guest that if you're looking for an understandable, professional and fair host, obviously stay away from here

Owner's Response: My professional firm of cleaners check the property thoroughly each time guests leave to ensure everything is in order for the next guests' arrival. However, on this occasion my cleaners reported to me a broken radiator thermostat left on the kitchen floor belonging to the kitchen radiator. All radiator thermostats were unbroken and working before this particular guest's family arrived as the weather had been chilly the previous week and all gas radiators were left on due to the inclement weather. After these particular guests departed, new guests were due to arrive in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday. I had to quickly find a plumber to come out on a Sunday experiencing extra costs to replace the radiator thermostat with another. This guest had agreed to pay a damage deposit when he booked the property and therefore the cost of the repair was partially taken from the damage deposit, which damage deposit did not fully pay for the broken gas radiator thermostat and for the plumber's labour on a Sunday. I did not request the guest to pay the full charges for the broken gas radiator thermostat nor for the plumber's Sunday extra charges as I knew he would refuse as he kept refusing to accept responsibility for the broken gas radiator thermostat. I offered to send a copy of the plumber's invoice, but he said he did not want a copy sent still refusing to accept responsibility for the damage.

Great property, very accomodating

The house was lovely and fitted 8 people really well. There are a lot of rooms and a lot of seating. The actual living room has a few sofas and table/chairs, as well as a TV with in-built DVD player. There is a hairdryer, washing machine, some toiletries and very basic food items such as tea/coffee. There's enough pots/pans etc given and we were able to cook up some full englishes on the mornings. The bedrooms are a nice size with sufficient space to unpack. The front house door locks automatically behind you which is a nice safety feature, and there are extra keys for each bedroom if anybody is booking wanting privacy or with a group they don't know very well. The location was a short walk from a number of pubs/cafes and a short drive from the zoo/aquarium.

Only downsides are there is only one shower/bath for 8 people and there is no garden/outdoor area.

Owner's Response: Park Lodge Apartment does not come with a garden/outdoor area, only when Park Lodge Apartment and Park Lodge Garden Cottage are booked together making the property into one whole house, which sleeps up to 13 people then there is a private secluded stone walled courtyard patio garden. If Park Lodge Apartment and Park Lodge Garden Cottage are booked together there is an additional bathroom with bath and shower. When Park Lodge Apartment there is are two toilets.

The house was spacious with sufficient facilities. The carpet was too old and dusty.

The house locates at a very convenient road. The house was very spacious with sufficient facilities. To us surprise, there are even chopsticks found at kitchen drawers. However, the carpet is too old and dusty. As travelling with young children, we expect better hygienic condition.

Owner's Response: The newly purchased all 100% wool fitted traditional patterned Axminster carpet is vacuumed and professional cleaned before any guests arrive to stay at the property.

There is an open-top bus, which stops outside Park Lodge Apartment, which travels directly, a three-minute ride away to the steamer piers at Bowness-on-Windermere, connecting with other boat routes and bus routes travelling around the Lake District National Park. Windermere’s Goodly Dale Health Centre very close to the property and Westmorland General Hospital is in Kendal.
