Calpe town with a long history and deep traditions, is one of the main tourist destinations on the Costa Blanca.

Its marina, promenade and eleven kilometers of coastline, marked by cliffs, beaches and coves are some of the attractions.

So is a symbol, the Rock of Ifach, a huge calcareous 332 meters high, that penetrates the sea and gave the town its name. This region has been declared a natural park, due to the great botanical and faunal diversity. The best views of Calpe and its coastline are seen from the top, which is accessible by guided visits to the park.

Refreshment kiosks and equipment rental, windsurfing boards and jet skis are along the Fossa and Arenal, sunny beaches with a beautiful promenade and are equipped with all amenities.

Among the many quiet coves in the bay is Les Bassetes, known for the quality of its seabed and crystal waters. This rivals the beauty with others such as Manzanera and Les Urques, perfect for sailing and scuba diving. For both novices and initiates, Calpe offers a sailing school and a diving center in Puerto Blanco.

Lovers of outdoor sports can climb the Rock of Ifach and caving in the ravine of Mascarat or Mount Oltà.

The historic center of Calpe is bounded by the ancient walls, lifted in the fifteenth century to defend the city against pirate attacks. Next to the Moorish quarter of Arrabal part of the old medieval city walls is preserved, with some paintings and the Tower of Peça. Nearby, the parish church dedicated to Our Lady of the Snows, the fifteenth century, only temple existing Gothic-Mudejar in Valencia stands.

In Calpe you can find other beautiful examples of religious architecture, as the chapels of Cometa and San Salvador, both of the seventeenth century.

In its surroundings, the Alicante town shows its deep rural roots. Slopes covered with vineyards alternate with beautiful examples of local architecture as Casa Nova, typical fortified farmhouse look, or the Pou Salat, construction supplying drinking water to the inhabitants of the city.
