Lovely relaxing location

Beautiful villa overlooking the sea. We have just returned from a wonderful holiday here (6 adults & 2 teenagers) The weather was incredibly hot and so the private pool was a real bonus. The villa is well equipped although the gym equipment is not the best but that was not something that we were interested in. A car is essential as the supermarkets are too far to walk to. The towns of Calpe and Altea are a 10 minute drive away and are both quite attractive but there is a selection of bars and restaurants at the marina just 5 mins walk away. The beach (nudist by the way) is a similar stroll away - nice but rocky! The beach in Calpe Is gorgeous The villa has a number of terraces that you can choose to sit on but we loved the large terrace adjoining the lounge which had a lovely long table for great meals overlooking the sea. The villa is air-conditioned and this works well but it is expensive and the cost of power is deducted from your deposit - so be prepared. One moan - the cost of cleaning and bed linen is around 400€ for 8. For this I would have expected a mid holiday clean and change of linen and towels. Overall a fantastic place, the owner and the letting agent are attentive and will always do what they can for you. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in very pleasant surroundings.

Beach House No8 : A good choice but not the best

We were a party of 7 (4 adults and 3 children) and have rented many properties as two families all over Spain and the rest of Europe.

We rented the property based on the description of facilities and location.

John, from the management services, was there to greet us and very helpful throughout the stay. It was clear that the property was spotlessly clean on our arrival.

However there are a few minor things that distracted from the pleasure of stay. There were no instructions for anything! so finding out how tv, ovens, washing machine, aircon etc worked was a matter of trial and error. Not really exceptable in a rental property of this level. The pool is very small (our fault for not checking) so only good for cooling off and for small children to splash about. The property would also benefit from some more sun loungers. Just 2 for a property with 5 terraces and seven people not enough. Also the equipment in the games room not in very good working order and not really useable, but just needs some maintanence.

Lastly the owner / management company request that the damage deposit,cleaning and linen be paid in cash on arrival. This means carrying circa €600 euros on arrival, again only a minor criticism but surely this could be paid upfront as the majority of properties these days.

These criticisms may seem harsh, but in a property described as luxury they should be corrected.

While the area around the pool is very tight, the remaining terraces are excellent, especially the lounge terrace, excellent for long lunches!

Plenty of space in the lounge and kitchen , good layouts. Underground parking a real bonus.

Regarding restuarants, the Port is mins walk away down the hill,there are many activities such as jetski, boat hire etc , but remember you now have to have a boat license to hire these, something I didnt know had changed.

There is a good choice of restaurants, but overpriced and quality only average to good. Altea front and the old town much much better. Samoa beach bar , just prior to Altea approaching from the north comes highly recommended, excellent steaks , excellent atmosphere / location.

In conclusion I would recommend this property if you are a group of adults or families with smaller children wanting a quiet location with walkable fracilities.

Owner's Response: During the tour upon arrival, all devices discussed and explained to the Client. The location of all instruction booklets we will take from now on our tour. The pool has the dimensions of 6.40 by 4.40 meters but is Private. It is not a communal pool. The exercise machines are replaced with new ones. 4 new sun beds are added (total now 8 pieces)

Hemos estado cinco días en esta casa y hemos disfrutado muchisimo. La casa es preciosa y no le falta ningún detalle. Está decorada con mucho gusto y todo nuevo. La persona que te recibe John, es encantador y facilita todas las gestiones que te puedan surgir. Se preocupa de que tu estancia en esta casa sea lo mejor posible.
