The apartment is located in the heart of Florence near the Ponte Vecchio and a few steps from the most beautiful squares and sights of the city. Shops, supermarkets, banks, all services and the finest restaurants and bars are around the apartment.
We had a wonderful stay at your holiday home in Florence. We were amazed at the size of the apartment, the high quality kitchen that was fully equipped, wonderfully comfortable beds, plenty of closet space, most incredible views of the Arno river and city of Florence, close proximity to all of Florence, I just can't say enough. We just couldn't believe our luck at finding such a large apartment so adequately and comfortably furnished, so close to everything. One of our biggest regrets was not realizing what a great neighborhood was just around the corner until two days before we left . Air conditioning if it is really hot, elevator if you have knee problems, all the things that are so attractive to spoiled travelers! we hope we will be able to return someday soon.
Thank you for all of your help while we were in Florence and for being so good to do business with.

Extremely spacious living space, well appointed bedrooms and eat in kitchen made this apartment particularly wonderful. Truly enjoyed staying in the Oltrarno area, although close to the Ponte Vecchio, the neighborhood had a less touristed feeling and access to everything was so easy. Many close by wonderful restaurants & wine bars (Tamero, Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina, Osteria Antica mesuta, to name a few), best gelato in town just around the corner at Gelateria Strega Nocciola, and well stocked grocery store. As others have said, the view is spectacular - across from the Uffizi, we were lucky to see fireworks display from the middle of the river one night, right in front of apartment. The apartment itself was comfortable, clean and very spacious, with large living area, bedrooms and baths and the eat in kitchen was well equipped for cooking up meals. We've stayed in many rental apartments and this one is one of the best. Highly recommended. Massimo, our host was always responsive from initial inquiries to check in and check out. Thanks for a great stay!
The apartment had a spectacular view of the Ponte Vecchio; the living room had large windows that opened up and the view of the city was amazing!! It was a girl's getaway and the apartment was spacious enough for 5 ladies, but the apartment would be excellent for families or couples as well. The apartment was modernly furnished with 4 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and all the conveniences of home. It was located within walking distance of all the major sites of Firenze including the Duomo, the Uffizi, the Academia, the Boboli Gardens, Santa Maria Novella train station and other sites. The Ristaronte Buca Mario is a must visit as is the Yellow Bar! . Massimo was a very gracious host and provided us with a few good restaurants within walking distance and called us a cab for our return to Rome. I recommend this for anyone who is coming to Firenze and hope to visit again and stay at Massimo's apartment! !
Four of us (two couples) had the pleasure of staying in this lovely apartment. We were in Florence to explore and celebrate some significant birthdays and a wedding anniversary. The pictures don’t do it justice; the east-facing living area is comfortable with a fantastic view of the Arno, the Uffizi and Galileo museums. The kitchen was complete with a gourmet-style gas range, large refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer, as well as a small balcony. The bedrooms were large and comfortable – three have queen-sized beds and one has a king. The bathrooms were nice with good water pressure. The whole apartment was immaculately clean.
Our only quibbles were the lack of dishwashing liquid, trash bags, pot holders and sharp knives for food prep (we cook a lot). The bath towels were nice, although you need to bring your own facecloths. Note that even though there is a small elevator, the flat is not handicap-accessible. It is on the 4th floor of the building, and you have to walk up several steps to access the elevator. Unlike some European buildings, the lights in the foyer do not come on automatically when you step inside. There is a brown light switch on each floor that will turn on all the hall lights for about 10 minutes.
Massimo, our host, was very kind and responsive. He provided good instructions for accessing the apartment, and he was generous with restaurant recommendations and other advice. We happened to be staying at the apartment when a major city water main burst, and Massimo was very understanding when we decided to move to a hotel for the last two days of our stay since there was no water, and he refunded our deposit and two days’ rent.
The apartment is ideally situated near the Ponte Vecchio, and everything you need for a comfortable stay is in the immediate vicinity, including a grocery store (Sapori & Dintorni Conad), a bank with two ATMs (Cariparma), a most excellent wine shop/wine bar (Signorvino) and many restaurants, bakeries and gelato shops. From the apartment you can easily walk to all the major sites in the city, as well as the train station.
Many thanks to the wonderful Massimo for sharing this beautiful apartment with us, and we would highly recommend it to other travelers.
Apartment is even better than photos. Perfect location:2-minute walk to Ponte Vecchio and has an amazing river view; less than 5-minute walk from a great supermarket; and next to several good restaurants (Golden View and Signorvino are both by its doorsteps). Massimo was very polite and attentions. My family and I would definitely stay here again.
This apartment is amazing! It is clean, spacious, well equipped with stunning views. The location of this apartment was unbelievable! We were centrally located for everything we wanted to do. It was also very convenient to be able to stop back at the apartment with purchases or to use the WC. We had 8 people in the apartment and were truly blown away when we walked through the doors! We absolutely loved it and felt lucky to have found it at Home Away. Massimo was extremely friendly and helpful with all of our arrangements and we would highly recommend this to anyone traveling with a large party. We definitely will stay here again and are already planning our next trip to Florence! Beautiful!
