Lovely relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

Lovely house with pretty much anything you need for a stay here. I stayed with my daughter and my granddaughter of 6 months. I also had my dog coco and there are woods just beside the cottage do I walked her there every day. Pool was great and was only in hot tub couple if times as my daughter couldn't leave the baby but it was great with a lovely view over the fields.

My son and his family came to visit on the Saturday and they loved it. Swings, games room, pool etc kept them amused.

I hope to come back with my husband who missed the holiday due to work commitments. Highly recommend it

High quality accommodation -

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for a week (Fri-Fri) in Easter holidays 2015. Accommodation is of excellent quality and comes well equipped, even with towels for the swimming pool. Was worth heading to the hot tub even on a 3°C spring night. The whole leisure area - pool, jacuzzi, hot tub and games room is immaculate, spacious and great for families and those staying in each of the three cottages was very accommodating and flexible about access.

Property was very clean and well maintained with everything you need for a week's stay. Kate was very helpful, friendly and available as required. It's all been done in the last 4 or 5 years so still looks brand new.

A great place to stay with two 12 year olds and within about 15 minutes of the M90 with easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Perth and the excellent Chinese in Cupar!

Lovely tranquil spot, too, - it's down as Reediehill Farm on Google maps if you're looking.. Only downside is that I fear I have told too many people about it already - it will never be available!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We're delighted that you had a really great family holiday at The Old Cart House and that you especially enjoyed your evening soak in the outdoor hot tub! It was lovely to meet you and hopefully we can tempt you back to visit again another time. Many thanks for letting us know about the Google Maps error. I've advised them that a name correction is needed, so hopefully our other guests will be able to find us now on the map!

Amazing cottage with fantastic facilities.

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic property. Property was exactly as shown on website. Well looked after and spotlessly clean. Owners very friendly and very helpful. Loved the fact there was a games room (pool table, table tennis table and gym equipment, along with many family/childrens games) and also an outdoor hot tub - along with an indoor swimming pool, jaccuzi and changing rooms - all at the bottom of the garden. It was like hiring a cottage with 2 log cabins at the bottom of the garden. Have now been 3 times and going back a fourth time in May. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Fantastic!

  • 4 of 5

Fantastic property and great location IF you want a relaxing week! Plenty of walks etc however, not much more within the village. For restaurants, cafés etc we had to travel to Cupar or St Andrews for a nice bite to eat. Cottage was extremely clean and like a home from home cottage. Great facilities and lovely owners. Only downfall was Sky TV didn't work for 2 days but that was out with the owners hands and they were extremely apologetic. On that note, it would be good if there were more Sky channels and the wifi was in a better location than the kitchen as we found it hard to get a good signal when not within the kitchen area. Only a very small issue and didn't effect our stay at all. We hope to book again for next year.

Owner's Response: We're so pleased that you had such a relaxing week. The cottage is certainly in a lovely peaceful, scenic and rural location. It's a super base for exploring this area of Fife and Perthshire and there is definitely lots of interesting attractions in the area. We're delighted you had time to explore. It was most unfortunate that the Sky Satellite Dish developed a problem over the weekend, but we managed to get the engineer to fix it as soon as we could. Apologies for this and thank you for your understanding about these things. We hope to see you again at some other time.

Perfect Stay!

  • 5 of 5

From the start to the end of our stay, it was perfect! The Old Cart House was such a lovely place to stay, we didn't even mind being snowed in for a day! It's such a perfect place to stay, from the great fireplace in the Living room (nothing like sitting by a roaring fire with a good malt looking out on the snow covered countryside) to the onsite swimming pool and games room and the lovely secluded location up the hill from Auchtermuchty.

There was absolutely nothing we could fault about the Old Cart House, we are looking forward to staying again some time in the future! The owners (Kate and Ian) were very helpful and friendly, particularly with regard to our family members who weren't staying for the whole trip (we were staying at the Old Cart House for my Wife's 40th birthday) the Old Cart House was perfect for this special occasion.

Stay here, you won't regret it!!
