About Maria Apuzzo
My name is Maria and, together with my husband Luca and my daughter Marianna (and the little Elide!), I take care of the villa from many years. It was built in the early 1800s by a local fisherman, who from Furore traveled about 900 steps to reach his boat: after fishing he brought his catch to the market in the village of Agerola. The fisherman, with a life of sacrifice and hard work, made his home stone by stone. After the disappearance of the old owner, the house was abandoned and it remained an old ruin. The ruin was bought by my father, mr. Tullio, who fell in love with the splendid panorama. The villa has been totally rebuilt and renovated, but even today you can breathe that atmosphere of peace and quiet. Me and my family love to travel, explore, know and love contact with people. We are ready to provide any kind of information, advice or suggestion so that the guests of Villa Il Mignale can spend an unforgettable holiday.
Why Maria Apuzzo chose Furore
Surely in a magical place like Furore ("Terra Furoris") the story is written in the landscapes, in the masterpieces of artists of all time, in the alleys and on the walls. The "painted village of the Amalfi Coast is famous for its large open-air art gallery. The other real attraction of the territory is the natural environment and the extraordinary panorama that opens onto the sea, with a view overlooking the Amalfi Coast, the Fjord and the Via dell'Amore. Here the landscape and the view on the sea are the masters. For this reason, in addition to the peaceful life, sunbathing, walks through the valleys of the area, starting from the villa, you can also begin a sort of pilgrimage between the places of artistic and cultural inspiration of the Amalfi Coast. Furore is there, at your fingertips, for those who still look for the "places of the soul".
What makes this Villa unique
Villa Il Mignale, in addition to a perfect position to visit both the Amalfi Coast and the archaeological sites like Pompeii orNaples, is equipped with each comfort to spend an extraordinary holiday. The large terraces that surround the villa and the patio roof terrace for the exclusive and personal use of guests are perfect places to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the place, away from the city chaos and the noise of the city.

We loved Villa Il Mignale! It is a gorgeous property in a beautiful location, and Maria & Marianna couldn't have been more lovely. We were excited to arrive, based on the photos and description, and reality exceeded our expectations. The interior is beautifully decorated with a well-equipped and good-sized kitchen and comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms, and the exterior spaces are too numerous to use all of them. We especially enjoyed the upper level terrace. Maria and Marianna greeted us with enthusiasm and it was clear they are proud of their property as they showed us around - as they should be. We have stayed at many vacation homes over the years, and this ranks near the top! For those that want to be in the heart of tourist towns like Amalfi and Positano, this wouldn't check that box, but for us it was perfect as we prefer to avoid the crowds. We were able to get around using our rental car as well as the local bus and ferry (and our feet - on the hiking trails and steps). We highly recommend this villa!
Very good stay
Hosts were extremely friendly and responsive and met us on arrival and departing. Views were amazing. Wifi had some issues especially on the upstairs deck so we really didnt get a chance to enjoy it. If you will be staying inside, the only place to sit is the couch and that is extremely uncomfortable. If you want to watch TV you are out of luck....its only 20". Know that there are a lot of steps, about 5 normal flights of stairs so plan accordingly. The location is decent.
Overall we did enjoy the stay there and would recommend it.
Dear Rick and Shpresa,
first of all we thank you for choosing our villa for your holidays and for your comment on us.
We are very disappointed that with six chairs, two armchairs, one sofa, three bedrooms with three beds and three armchairs, everything well equipped with cushions, you did not find something confortable.
Note we are talking about the internal furniture, since in the external areas there are other furniture, of course.
So our question is natural: what else should we add, considering you were only two of you?
If you read online we never had problems about WiFi and never about TV (by the way you can see in the pictures how big it is) because we frequently and personally check that all the things are working good.
Finally we do not want to say too much: seeing online what everybody say upon us is our response to your review.
But just our last thought: think we received your website online payment on the checkout day after several payment requests, and for trying not to pay here cleanings and tourist taxes you run up to the road forgetting also to give us back the villa keys.
By the way, we'll anyway give a five stars comment on you.
We wish you all the best.
Maria & family.
What you expect when in the amalfi coast
Everything you need is provided. Lots of natural light in the villa which has beautiful views all around and the terrace is absolutely amazing. Maria and family are great hosts, they were all there to welcome us. I would recommend this villa for a family of 5 , very comfortable.
Gorgeous Villa, Million Dollar Views
We cannot say enough great things about this place. Probably the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in. Maria and Mariana are the best and we truly enjoyed meeting them. This is a must see Villa and location!
Beautiful Furore Home
This home was so beautiful with lots of space. Maria and Marliana were so helpful whenever we needed it and left us with fresh tomatoes, basil, wine and lemoncello which we cooked dinner with. Also very close to
A bus station that takes you to Amalfi. Would definitely recommend!!
Big WOW to this property
From my initial inquiry of the property in October 2018 through our visit at the end of August the property owners Maria, Luca and Marianna couldn’t have been more gracious and helpful! The property was spotless when we checked in - I kept wondering if the window in the kitchen was really there. The views are amazing, the kitchen well equipped. Marianna kept in contact through WhatsApp and responded very quickly to any question I had, helped us with restaurant recommendations, transportation when we no longer wanted to drive the curving coastline, helped us rent an economical boat to take us out on the water. They helped me find a local chef to prepare a meal for a special birthday. I have posted their info on my personal Facebook page - I can not recommend this property enough! I have been home for 24 hours and would love to go back!
Villa il Mignale is located in the heart of Furore, known to the tourists as the "painted country" of the Amalfi Coast for its large open-air art gallery represented by over than one hundred paintings and sculptures in the squares or on the facades of the houses.
Furore, which stands on one of the most beautiful roads in the world overlooking the sea and with breathtaking views, is an irresistible slice of the Amalfi Coast. This is the land of wine and art, and it was originally called Terra Furoris because of the noise that the sea produced by running against the high walls of the Fjord. In this land, however, the real attraction is the natural environment and the extraordinary views that open into the sea overlooking the Amalfi Coast. The mild climate, the historical and enogastronomic heritage and the nature shows of this land have stimulated the imagination of writers, directors and poets. And "it is HERE that we recognize the beloved work of nature" (Plinio the Elder, 1st century AD). HERE you can admire churches and bell towers, vineyards and gardens, terraces and pergolas, hills and hairpin bends that lead to the sea, which, seen from up here, resembles, at night, a star-tipped sky with the lights of the lamps. From HERE you can easily reach famous destinations such as the Fiord of Furore, Amalfi, Positano, Praiano, Ravello, the Sorrento Peninsula, Capri and even Naples, Vesuvius, Pompeii and Herculaneum. Let yourself go from that absorbed wonder of being that only here is given to you to try... HERE YOU CAN!
Getting around by car is certainly much easier in the Amalfi Coast, that's why the car is highly recommended.
The bus stop is 50 meters away: the SITAbus public lines connect Furore with Amalfi. In Amalfi there is the possibility of moving (by sea or by land) to other coastal locations such as Positano, Praiano, Ravello, Sorrento. During the summer, it is highly recommended to move by sea, with public ferries or private boats. Experiences to try are the private tours along the coast and the excursions to Capri. Taxi service is also very efficient.
