Walking distance to shops, banks, restaurants, library, theater and cultural center. Hospitals and medical facilities are within 5 minutes or less. Florida style furniture, light and very clean, nautical decor. Just bring your clothes and toothbrush. The resort features a corgious heated pool, Tennis courts, putting green, shuffle board and a small exercise room. Off course there is a very nice Clubhouse offering all kinds of social activity for the ' joiner ' in you. Super and friendly management. Our gardners keep a beautiful tropical landscape. The unit overlooks the luscious courtyard from the screened balcony. Off course all amenities are there, connection for your lap top, Dish TV, VCR/ CD. Kitchen is splendidly supplied with everything you need ( if you want to cook, ha,ha..) Washer/Dryer in unit.

Golf, Beach, Fishing & Biking Info:: The Port Charlotte Golf Club is just a few minutes away .

There are two fishing piers within minutes : One on Bayshore Drive in Heritage Oak Park next to the Museum, the other within the beautiful Port Charlotte Beach Complex at the end of Harbor Blvd. both in Port Charlotte.

1 queen bed. Pool, outside shower, elevator, tennis, shuffleboard, exercise room, clubhouse. A ' Resort Setting ' at budget price at it's BEST: Clean, Secure and Peaceful . A nice place to stay in a very nice area.

This was a nice place, with everything I needed for my stay. It is located in a very nice area and all the people I met were nice and very friendly. There were lots of activities going on and I was welcomed. The beach, food and shopping are all very close by. I really enjoyed my stay and hope to go back. The only complaint I had was that the internet speed was kind of slow which made watching streaming content almost impossible, but I had plenty to do without it.

My stay at the Promenades Condos in Port Charlotte. Florida

The place was very clean and ready for us to take occupancy for January. Jack met us and took me on a tour and talked to my husband. He gave us the keys so we could move our luggage in. There was a problem the first day with the TVremote in theliving room. We called him and he came and checked out the remote. He had a new one for us the next day. Jack was very helpful any time we called him which was rarely. He told us he was there to help us any time.

The condo was well stocked with towels, wash cloths, sheets, blankets, dishes and cleaning supplies. They were clean and ready for use.

Although I had to cut the vacation short because my body would not adapt to the Florida weather, our stay there was a good one. We will come back there to stay if we decide to come back to Florida. We have a son in North Port and it is close to where he lives.

Both Jack and Christa were very concerned about my health since the pain increased while I was in Florida. I have advance stage of Fibromyalgia. I will recommend the Promenades to my friends if they plan to go to Port Charlotte. The welcome we got and the wonderful accomodations that was awaiting us was worth coming. Thank you for the Hospitality and Welcome.

Bed Bug Infestation/Reeked of Smoke/Filthy Carpets

The property was listed as a non-smoking unit. It reeked of smoke upon our arrival. The property manager Jack informed us that the previous tenents were long term renters and had smoked in the unit.Apparently the carpeting "had been cleaned" however the smell was still nauseating.The sheets were "grimy" and when removed the mattress pad was filthy with little spots of blood stains and I'm not sure what else (urine? blood specks from smashed bedbugs?).We called Manager Jack and a new mattress pad was provided.We had been there for approximately 2 weeks total and noted numerous "bites" on our torso,arms and legs. As I was sitting on the bed I noticed a small insect crawl across the linens. The bed linens were removed and the mattress was inspected and to our horror we saw bed bugs!! We called a professional exterminator and he verified that indeed there was a bed bug infestation. He pointed out that the infestation had been there for at least 2-3 months as there were egg casings and insects in various stages of growth. We spent the next 12 hours cleaning EVERYTHING we had brought with us plus trying to find new housing in the peak season! (at a much higher expense of course) The exterminator instructed us to launder clothing in HOT water and to dry for at least 30 minutes in the dryer at highest heat setting. Several items of clothing were ruined in the process.Luggage had to be thrown out.This was a very traumatic and expensive experience-not the peaceful vacation we were hoping for. We notified the owner of the property of what was recommended to correct the problem and her response was to replace some of the furniture. This went contrary to the recommendations of the professional exterminator, and she chose instead to infer that perhaps WE had caused the problem! We noticed that a subsequent renter had had the same Bedbug problem (no susprise there!), and felt compelled to write this review. We filed a complaint with home away (under the Carefree Rental provision we were forced to pay for) and they basically did nothing other than relay messages back and forth. They finally suggested I file a dispute with my credit card company (again, their own coverage is worthless), and we were able to obtain a partial refund based on our move out date. I am shocked that Home Away would still allow this person to advertise ANY properties on their website. We rented this property THAT HAD ZERO REVIEWS so my advice is don't rent from anyone who doesn't have reviews.

Owner's Response: This is Christa Murch, the owner of this unit. It is the unfortunate ugly truth in todays vacation rental business that guests bring in Bed bugs in their luggage and/or smoke ignoring the NO SMOKE signs that are placed in the unit even they know and understand that they are renting a no-smoking unit. While it can not be PREVENTED we most certainly took immediate action to CURE this problem and to REFUND the proper amount to the guest. Here is what we did : 1) The existing bedroom set was immediately removed from the unit as well as the existing sofa in the living room. 2) A bed-bug treatment was immediately done throughout the entire unit. 3) We purchased immediately a new Bedroom set at ROOMS TO GO including brand new matrass and also a brand new sofa for the living room. 4) We washed curtains and steam cleaned all carpets to cure the smoke like smell. 5) We immediately offered to re-fund the proper amount of rent money, and pledged the entire amount until the deserving amount was refunded to the guest. 6) We also ordered regular inspection by a pest control company . Please, be assured that we offer our very, very best services and diligent maintenance to our guests. This is a beautiful unit for a budget price ! To address the " zero review " statement from this guest I REALLY NEED TO EXPLAIN: First of all it is not easy to motivate people to write a review. Also, We have many guests from foreign countries these guests are not speaking or writing English so they did not respond to our request to put in a review. We had repeat bookings from German guests for 6 months in a row for several winter seasons . This shows that they really liked the place or they would not have come back. We also had other guests from Italy etc. Since this guest urges HomeAway not to service any of my accounts I like to encourage you to read reviews on my other listings... you will see the entire picture then... we really have happy campers ! We like to thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

Bed bug infestation

When I began my stay in April 3 2016 the property manager stated he had a new bed and new couch just put in. He did not tell me it was because there where bedbugs! I had a few bites over the first 8 weeks but couldn't figure out what it was from. In May I woke up with my right forearm and neck in huge red whelps. I was doing bedding and linens that day and when I went to remove the sheets a huge grouping of bedbugs were around the edge of the matress. I took pictures of them and contacted the property manager Jack. He brought foggers and told me to set them off myself! He admitted he discovered them after the last renters left and had replaced the bed and couch and a professional told him to use foggers. I set the foggers and after a week the woke me up biting and crawling on me again! Large whelps. I contacted Jack again and now he says no professionals were contacted and he thought the foggers would resolve the problem. So now I'm researching bedbugs. Foggers are the worst thing you can do! It pushes them into the walls and spreads them to other places near by! They will come back as soon as the fog disapates! I had to heat and seal all my things in plastic bags and had only a set of scrubs for work and my toiletries. He finally offered me a condo in June that had been available my lenghth of stay at that time. The pest control people came to condo and had 3 treatments over a 3 week period and Jack felt it was appropriate for me to call them. He tried to get me to return to the condo after the first treatment! That is unacceptable business practice. I had no access to my things, there were bedbugs before I arrived and I could not contact the owner though I tried. This was a horrible experience and handled even worse. I am now working with Home Away to resolve this issue because the owner nor property manager have been professional in handling it.

Owner's Response: My name is Christa Murch, the owner of this rental unit. I am responding to the complaint of this guest: It is an unfortunate situation in the vacation rental business that some guests will bring in " bed bugs" in their luggage... There is nothing that can be done to PREVENT this but most certainly we REACTED QUICKLY TO CURE IT ! What was done : 1) A brand new bedroom set including matrass was purchased just very recently ( a week or two ) prior to this guests arrival. Also a new sofa in the living room. 2) When this guest informed us about a bed bug problem we immediately re-located this guest in another unit ( without charging for it ) and we immediately refunded the rent money that her company paid ( who this person worked for ). 3) We had this unit re-treated immediately. obviously the initial treatment we had done did not completely get rid of the entire problem. We also signed up for regular pest inspections specific for bed bugs. It was completely un-understandable and un-expected how this problem could re-surface after treatment and replacement of the entire bedroom set. Please, be assured that you will receive our very best services and attention while you are here for your Florida vacation. Please, never hesitate to contact us if you have further questions.
