Oceanfront Cottage on Frenchman Bay-Private Beach-Acadia National Park 2250.00wk

Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 7 nights

Downeast and Acadia Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

'Beau Se Jour' cottage was designed to be reminiscent of the shingle cottages which have always been unique to Maine's seacoast.

Sunfilled rooms are tastefully decorated with vintage wicker, hooked rugs, and nautical accessories. Birch bark railings, a gas stone fireplace, and a moose-horn chandelier give this cottage a distinctive look and feel of an earlier time.

Enjoy relaxing on the large eat-in screened porch with panoramic ocean and mountain views.

This beautiful setting is perched on Frenchman Bay, and has breathtaking views of Cadillac Mountain and Acadia National Park.

A rare opportunity to enjoy a private beach for swimming, clam digging, and long walks along the endless shore.

About Laura

We love Maine and know you will too! We will do our best to make your vacation in the Acadia Region special so that you go home with many wonderful memories.

We want you to feel at home and enjoy all that Downeast Maine offers, most especially the crown jewel; Acadia National Park, which will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year, 2016. We invite you to come visit and explore a most special place in America.

During the cold, short days of winter, our thoughts turn to warm, sunny days... if you want a wonderful getaway unlike most others, we invite you to come visit our Tropical Island, Gulf front Cottage on "Little Gasparilla Island" in Southwest Florida.

Come explore the magical, barrier island accessible only by boat ( Or water taxi).

No stores, roads, cars or distractions other than the beautiful gulf, pristine white sandy beach, shells, sharks teeth and magnificent sunsets, (unlike any you have seen before).

You will almost feel as thought the island were your own as it is peaceful, quiet and most of all, unspoiled. Come experience Florida like you have never done before.

Our property is also on VRBO and if you would like to take a look, the property # is: 157312

We welcome you to both our Oceanfront Cottage in Maine and our Gulf front Cottage on Little Gasparilla Island.

This cottage was the perfect location for our family getaway. Cozy and secluded with breath taking views all day long. Walk down to the beach and pick mussels or head into Acadia for hiking paths and Sands Beach! We plan on coming back every year! This house and Bar Harbor were a little slice of heaven. Thanks for providing such a calming and relaxing space for us.

Perfect private hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cottage - very comfortable, nicely decorated and a view that could not be beat, and as quiet as could be away down the nice private road! We were particularly appreciative that there was so much information on what to see in the area, including places to hike, both in Acadia and outside. It was wonderful to have a grill as we were able to cook out a few nights after spending the day hiking. And again - thanks for all the spices, oil, popcorn and little extras that would be hard to pack, but came in so handy. The recommendations from Laura as well as the guest book made it easy to find great places to eat. Laura was, as everyone says, very attentive and ensured our visit was the best. Thanks so much for helping make our 35th wedding anniversary so memorable!

Our first stay at this cottage -- we (a retired couple) were delighted. It fit our strategy of being close to civilization (20 minutes to Acadia, 25 to Bar Harbor) without the busy-ness or congestion. Laura is promptly responsive; this artistically decorated cottage is well-stocked. Photographers please note this cottage faces east so you get "golden hour" sunrise light over a classic tidal cove. Same concept for sleeper Lemoine State Park and nearby Blunt's Pond. First timers - I recommend not arriving after sunset as the surrounding thick cluster of trees in the final 100 yards to the cottage presents a worthy challenge to any visually impaired navigator. Second time is a breeze.

This is What Heaven Looks Like

Our second trip here in 3 years. I so wish we could come every year. This cottage is THE best. It was like coming home again. My family which includes daughters aged 20 and 9 love it here. There was so much anticipation before we got here. It is magical driving down the driveway and seeing the bay in front of you. The view is breath taking. We weren't even completely unpacked for the week when they were down on the beach clamming. Close enough to Acadia and Bar Harbor that we never minded the drive in (maybe 30 minutes). My husband and oldest went deep sea fishing for a half a day. Poked around Bar Harbor several times. Bar Island, shops, restaurants and in Acadia to Sand Beach and up early one morning to see the sunrise on top of Cadillac. Other than when we went to Acadia we generally planned to spend half of the day exploring and the other at the cottage enjoying the property itself and just regrouping as a family playing board games, trying new recipes (cottage is stocked well with spices and pans and such) and relaxing. Laying in bed one morning and listening to a pair of loons calling to each other over the quiet bay was thrilling as well as seeing a deer with her 4 babies in the morning mist visiting us. Exploring Lamoine State Park just a few minutes away is always a request with fishing, beach exploring and a picnic lunch.

The property owners have made us feel more than welcome and we truly cannot wait to get back. My only regret is that we could not stay longer. You could easily spend two weeks here and fill it up with things to do or just be happy at the cottage and do nothing. We cannot wait to get back again.

Wonderful Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just spent a week here with another couple, close friends, and had an awesome time! Beau Se Jour is just lovely, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Enjoying the lovely cool summer weather with the windows open was a real treat. There is some much to do the area with Acadia Natioanl Park offering hikes, biking, carriage tours and we highly recommend getting up very early to watch the sunrise on top of Cadillac Mountain, breathtaking! We enjoyed whale watching from Bar Harbor (dress warm if you want to be on the bow of the boat). Also enjoyed the nature cruise from Northwest Harbor. Laura is so helpful and has a lot of information at the house with things to do. We also call the local, kayak guy and he drop off a kayak for a week rental. Terrific, relaxing vacation! Thank you Laura and Robert. Colleen, Scott, Leslie and John
