Maison Loumé is a charming holiday house in one of the prettiest streets in town. It is a great value holiday option for families or small groups, sleeping eight people comfortably in two double rooms and a family room that has two singles and a double bed. There is a large fully equipped kitchen, and a combined dining room and living room with wood burner for the colder months. Modern bathroom with shower upstairs, and second bathroom on the ground level. Being in the centre of town you are within easy walking distance of all local attractions, bars, restaurants, shops, and the thermal baths, famous for their healing qualities.
There is parking available in the surrounding streets, and street access to the property to pick up / drop off only. The 3rd floor is currently unrenovated and not intended for guests use, but the washing machine is located on this floor.

The Pyrénées-Atlantiques takes its name from the Pyrenees Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean with Salies de Béarn being perfectly situated between the two. This provides access to a wide range of activities and beautiful scenery throughout the year.
Markets and shopping - Considered the Venice of the Béarn, Salies is a beautiful traditional village with an old medieval quarter and a charming old-fashioned 19th century area. The Place du Bayaa is the heart of the town and the start of the market that is held every Thursday morning where you can buy fresh local produce, clothes and gifts. There are excellent shops, bars and restaurants along with a supermarket, banks, a cinema and a casino at the Hotel du Parc.
History - The town has become most famous because of it's salt - legend has it that this was discovered when an injured boar fell into a swamp and was discovered later covered in salt and perfectly preserved. The salts at Salies de Béarn are particularly beneficial for gynaecological, rheumatic and paediatric ailments and the Thermal Baths are a must for any visitor to the area! Relax at the thermal spas or pamper yourself with one of the many beauty treatments on offer.
Fetes - During the summer each village or town in the area holds its own fete, which takes places over one weekend. The two main festivals in Salies are The Piperade and the Fete du Sel, however there are many other events throughout the year, particularly in the summer evenings and weekends.
Sports - There are plenty of activities to take part in including a local 12 hole golf course, cycling tracks, hiking/walking, local outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, kayaking and white water rafting at nearby Sauveterre De Bearn. The area is also famous for its fishing in the local rivers or gaves. Gave d'Oloron in particular is rich in trout and salmon. Ski resorts are just over 1 hour away and cater for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.
