Absolute Paradise!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we turned into the driveway we knew we had arrived in paradise!!! Within moments of our arrival the owner Michael arrived to brief us on the workings of the house. He truly is someone who takes great pride in his home and made us feel so welcome and honestly wanted us to use the house and all it had to offer. The grounds are so beautiful and tranquil. The kitchen is fully stocked with every possible appliance from lobster crackers to a nutrabullet machine. The entire house is immaculate, luxurious bedding, towels and furnishings. The view from the large glass windows throughout the house was spectacular. We had four grandchildren with us we are a family of 10 and the children couldn't eat fast enough in the morning so they could be outside searching for sea creatures, sea glass and shells. We rode the canoe, kayaks, our bikes as well as the ones provided by the house. Eating out on the deck was so enjoyable and the quiet and tranquility of this home is memorable. We used the fire pit for s'mores, relaxed in the hot tub and napped occasionally on the lounge chairs. We visited Acadia Park four of our days, hiked, biked, ate lunch at Jordan Pond, carriage ride, Sand Beach, Cadillac Mountain and still wish we had more days there. We also, went out on a boat ride and visited the town of Bar Harbor and took in the lumberjack show. Our last day in Maine we all looked at each other and no one wanted to leave Michael's house. So we spent the day there doing all the things we enjoy to do it was the perfect ending to a most memorable trip. We all felt sad on Saturday morning that we had to leave and we all look forward to returning again. We can't thank Michael enough for sharing this beautiful piece of heaven with us. May I also add that having Perry's Lobster Shack on the same road as the house is an extra bonus.

Slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

Our first trip to Maine and this house alone would make us come back! The view was awesome and it had everything and I mean everything!! There were three families all together and each of us had our own space. The kids enjoyed finding sea life along the coast for hours! Acadia and Bar Harbor are about 40 minutes away. The best little secret we found was the Lobster shack right on the road leading to the house. Hands down the best lobster rolls around!!!

A huge thank you to the owner!! He wanted to make sure you enjoyed your time and if you needed anything he was a phone call away!

Perfection!

  • 5 of 5

This gorgeous home overlooking the coastline is perfectly appointed and provided everything that our family grouping of 11 people could have ever desired. We loved having the kayaks and canoes as well as bicycles for our use. The peacefulness of the setting was amazing. Who couldn't be content to be able to bicycle on scenic roads, hike in Acadia, kayak on the Union River Bay, sit on a chaise lounge on the beautifully landscaped lawn, play games on the deck, or just relax and look out the huge windows on a rainy day?

The owner Michael was the perfect host as he greeted us upon arrival, explained everything about the house, and was at our beck and call by phone and/or by texting. The amenities were amazing, and the cleanliness was outstanding. Our only regret is that it was already booked for the week we wanted for summer of 2014.

In the 20 years that we have been planning a summer family vacation for our group of 11-14 people, we agreed that this was the loveliest home of all.

Amazing Maine Property

  • 5 of 5

This multilevel home offers bedrooms at every level, two living rooms, two kitchens and three bathrooms. This layout makes for an ideal getaway for extended families. Floor to ceiling windows frame the ocean and Acadia perfectly. The expansive property is maintained beautifully. You actually feel like you have your very own park! The owner is first class and sincerely cares about the quality of your stay. He is always just a phone call away if needed. The canoe, kayaks, bicycles, outdoor spa, grill, two large screen televisions, pool table and beach provide wonderful entertainment for guests of all ages. We made memories to last a lifetime. We were sad to leave this amazing home in Maine.

Awesome Family Getaway - Thanks for the memories

  • 5 of 5

Returned just a week ago from an amazing time in Maine and on this property for a family getaway with my mom, my brother and his family of 5 and our family of 6. The house was the perfect size for all of us. The kids claimed the lower level as the kid zone where they could kick back and watch TV or play video games - although that didn't happen too much with all there is to do. We spent the majority of our days fishing, crabbing, kayaking or a game of football on the lawn in the mornings and then venturing out in the afternoon to explore the area and Bar Harbor.

We certainly enjoyed the fare around the area including Morton Moo's Ice Cream (Ellsworth), Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium (Bar Harbor), Cherrystones (Bar Harbor) and Side Street Cafe (Bar Harbor). Many activities within the area kept us busy when we were looking for something to do - Lumberjack show, MiniGolf, Miss Samantha Lobster Cruise (Bar Harbor) and Acadia National Park.

Even though there is plenty to do in the area it was certainly nice to kick back at the house - which is beyond lovely and our host was so gracious. The house has everything you could need and well maintained. Our host too made the trip so easy - from booking all the way through to turning in the keys. We will certainly be back.

Stayed in lot of vacation homes: This is the best!

  • 5 of 5

We've been renting vacation homes for our summer family trip for 10 years, so we feel qualified to say that this one is THE ONE we've been looking for. We just got home two days ago, and we're already reserving our week for next summer. No false advertising here: It's exactly as described in the listing: Spacious, gorgeous views through huge windows, hardwood floors, airy, beautifully designed with an open, contemporary feel.

Our kids loved the walkout, lower level, which they claimed for themselves as a "kid cave," where they slept, snacked, watched tv and added a "No Adults Allowed" sign to the door.

Our bedrooms were spacious, with lots of drawers and closet space, plus top-quality mattresses and linens. The kitchen is equipped with every amenity and appliance one could want. Plus, there's a gas grill outside and even a lobster pot.

The area is terrific: 50 minutes to Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor, 10 minutes to a nice little convenience store, 20 mins. to the sweet, old-fashioned town called Ellsworth, where we pigged out at the ice-cream shop three times in a one-week stay. There's so much to do in the area, we didn't even scratch the surface--but we were very content to hang out at the house, too, because it's such a great place to just "be". We beach-combed every day, and we found a lot of cool sea glass and sea bricks. Not to mention the swaths of time spent just climbing on the rocks, skipping/plunking stones into the water, and watching the tide go in and out. And, of course, the hot tub.

The three kayaks parked on the beach side of the house were a huge hit! We went out every day--even our youngest kid--8 years old--was comfortable out there alone in the little red kayak. We spotted two bald eagles circling the yard, plus we had a huge wildlife bonus when a seal made an appearance just beyond the mooring off the beach!

Maximum kudos to our host, who was ready to accommodate our every wish.

I'd probably sound more believable if I had at least one negative thing to say. But I don't. Except that I wish we could have stayed longer!
