Lovely and comfortable
My husband and I stayed at the House of Stanley as our home base for 2 weeks. It was cozy and felt like home with everything we needed to cook our meals, do laundry, and be very comfortable. Donna greeted us on our arrival and even drove us to the grocery store to get a few things to begin our vacation. She was friendly and very helpful. Kinsale is a lovely town with plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs. There is no need for a car because everything is within walking distance and the buses are very convenient if you want to travel to another town. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Ireland.
Great quaint cottage in a really good location
The cottage is really central to the town, in a nice quiet private spot and has everything we needed. Donna made great restaurant recommendations as well as for a couple of local tours. The ghost tour from Tap Tavern was great fun. We were really lucky with the weather and loved sitting outside for a glass of wine of an evening, a bonus was the use of the leisure centre at the Hotel next door, which had a nice pool, and hot tub. Will definitely stay again, as it was spotlessly clean, beds were really comfortable and it was ideal for us.
Location location location
This cottage was so comfortable and a very very easy 5 minute walk to all the restaurants, harbor and great scenic walks. However be aware that you are right next to the "working end" of a large hotel so there is foot traffic, some noise of trucks coming and going (and temporarily blocking your parking) to unload supplies early in the morning and sometimes later in the evening. They don't stay long so it was not a major problem. During our month long stay we had 2 nights when there was loud music at night due to wedding events at the hotel. Just bring some ear plugs and you will be fine! For us, to be right in the heart of Kinsale, and to know that we had parking outside our door when we came back from our daily expursions and could then just park our car and not have to drive anywhere to get to amazing restaurants, quaint pubs or just grab a coffee or Guinness and visit with the locals made it well worth this inconvenience. We would definately stay there again and Donna was very helpful and attentive. She even arranged for a cleaning and clean sheets and towels each week. What a treat!
This was my first trip to Ireland and it truly was a home away from home. The cottage was so clean and comfortable. The location was perfect. Just go out side your door and you can walk the streets of Kinsale with all the shops and restaurants . The beautiful bay was just a few steps away . I was with my daughter and we always felt safe . The owners of the cottage were friendly and very helpful . I can't wait to go back again.
Excellent cottage in the heart of Kinsale.
stayed here with my wife and two teenage daughters[17,13], the cottage is right in the heart of Kinsale,Fishy Fishy is next door. The cottage is spotless clean and very well maintained, and looks exactly as it does in the photos. Donna the agent was very helpful and will book restaurants or activities if you wish.
We fell in love with Kinsale as soon as we arrived, it has loads of fine restaurants, pubs, and cafes and is a great base for seeing other parts of Cork, we visited Fota island, Mizen Head, Cobh, Garretstown Beach.
Charles Fort is great to see and on the walk back you have to stop at the Bulman for a pint of Murphy's while sitting on the pier wall to enjoy the view of Kinsale.
I have already recommended the property to family,we don't hope to book House of Stanley again because we know that we definitely will.
Perfect Home away from Home
My husband and our two boys (7 and 5) stayed for two weeks. The house had everything we needed. They boys loved their room and beds. The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot and strong. We were happy to have laundry, a great living room, and a patio. Parking was easy and having both a playground and restaurants steps away was great. Would definitely stay here again.
