About Frank Ramaekers III
I was born and raised on a farm in Nebraska and moved to Madrid Spain where I lived for 10 years as a professor. My passion is understanding cultures, languages and of course working with my hands and remodeling older homes to share with fellow travelers. I have traveled and stayed in incredible properties throughout Europe and Africa and am now able to share this home with fellow travelers and families whom want relaxation from the chaotic busy lives we live.
Frank Ramaekers III purchased this House in 2017
Why Frank Ramaekers III chose Northeast Virginia Beach
Amazing location and perfect for a relaxing get away or a work related week. The interior design is minimal, super clean, and the quality furnishings.

Nice place, great location
Really nice unit. Frank was friendly and helpful. A great place to relax and visit the beach.
LOVED the property. Walking distance to many places. Would entice friends to stay here .
Beautiful property, great location, wonderful stay, great landlord.
We loved this property. We use VRBO/HomeAway and AirBNB properties a lot over hotels as we have a toddler and appreciate the extra space. We chose this property based on location for the Shamrock marathon weekend, and it did not disappoint! Beautiful property within very easy walking distance of the beach and race start. Frank was extremely attentive but in no way overbearing. The house is split into two condos and we were on the ground floor in Meadowlark. While we could hear some walking around upstairs it was not disruptive or loud enough to be any kind of a problem. We are planning to use this property again. Wonderful!
Very Nice and So Close to the Beach
Not very large, but it has two bedrooms and two baths, and nice living/dining area for relaxing and socializing. The front porch and the nice back yard would be great in the warmer weather. The only drawback that we had, was the fact that the house has two floors available for rent. We were on the first floor, and our upstairs neighbors with children were constantly on the move (very early morning included).
Lots of charm and character.
The moment we stepped in we felt at home. Close to the beach, shopping, as well as entertainment venues, we found this cozy getaway to be just what we needed. Thank you!
I hesitate to say how much we enjoyed living at the Meadowlark for a week lest it get booked up too quickly for 2019 and beyond. Our goal was to see what it felt like to live at Virginia Beach instead of staying in an oceanfront hotel. We met the goal, and we loved it. What you're missing on that front porch photo are pictures of the rocking chairs we enjoyed so much for coffee-drinking in the morning, and maybe even having a bite of lunch or a pre-bedtime rock. Indoors, the vibe is more contemporary than what you might expect in a historical property. The beach vibe is "just enough", not overwhelming to the point of tacky like some places I've seen. I took some things I didn't need -- paper towels, detergent for a dishwasher, toilet tissue -- and there were also things there that I had forgotten to bring or thought I needed to buy. We ate in most evenings, and there was sufficent cookware to pull off a well-rounded dinner. The beds are very comfortable, bath towels are large and lush. The leather living room sofas are extremely comfortable, and there' s a nice selection of books and some games, too. One thing I was delighted about is that the home's old fireplace doesn't smell. I have really bad allergies, so it's a big deal to me. It's closed, cleaned up and decorated with dried hydrangea blooms, probably from the large bushes in the front yard. Both front and back yards are beautifully landscaped and maintained (by the owner), and though we didn't need them, a shower and dressing rooms in the yard are great to have, particularly for a family with children. There's a helpful book with "house rules", and nearby there was a box of salt water taffy. You could find that, too. But please, you come before Labor Day, okay? Thank you so much for being a great property owner and manager, and a very hospitable, friendly person. P.S. The Chinese restaurant nearby named Golden City did a very nice job on our dinner order. If you like this home, you will probably also like dining at Doc Taylor's and its big sister Tautog's which is maybe two blocks away. We bought our groceries at Harris Teeter, a privately owned chain in that area that is also easy walking distance. Hope this info helps someone else enjoy this area of Virginia Beach.
We were hoping that your week would never end, it was a pleasure. Thank you so much for the wonderful compliments and please come back and visit us!!!
