The apartment is located at the centre of Cascais, next to the Cascais bay (where you can go for a swim) the marina, and the lovely park of Marechal Carmona. The best place to take your kids or for a romantic walk.
It has big windows that welcome the sun in. In the morning you can have breakfast outside taking a bit of the Portuguese sun.
It has one bedroom, with a direct door to the balcony.
Also has one bathroom and a kitchen fully equipped. The living room is big, with a dinning area, a tv area and a sofa bed are with a lovely view to another balcony door.
The apartment has a private garage where you can put your car if you need.
Also has wifi and cable tv, so you can surf the internet for the nicest places in Cascais!
It is the second floor of a three floors building, and the area couldn't be more traditional, peaceful and good for someone visiting the city!
The apartment couldn't be best located.
If you are interested in architecture you have the catholic church just in front that was build on the XVI century, and it has paintings from the 1634 and 1684. The main image of the Lady Mary was painted by Malhoa on the 1900, a very renown Portuguese painter.
You have also just across the street, the Cultural Centre of Cascais where you have many exhibitions.
If you are a Paula Rego fan, you are on the right place, she has a museum in front of the park! next to the sea museum!
The Park Marechal Carmona includes the gardens of the Palace of the Condes of Castro Guimarães and property of the Viscount of Gandarinha. It has large trees, spacious lawns, flowers beds and herbaceous ornamental shrubs and is home to many architectural and sculptural elements of interest.
Many restaurants and picturesque places are hidden in the historical centre, it is nice to go for a walk and enter the restaurant or bar you prefer, for sure it will be good!
The marina, sometimes has too much of young crowd....but to have dinner over there it is a good idea! It has very good restaurants! And in the Sunday the restaurant 'Hemingway' offers a brunch that is worth trying!
Take advantage of the bicycles that you can get for free and go for a walk for the ciclovia that lead you to Guincho....but until you get there you have the most wonderful sightseeing, take time to do it!
Downtown also has a lot of typical Portuguese gifts where you can go, and walking throw it you will find 'Santini' the best ice cream place in Cascais....and beware!...they do home delivery!
You have also to go to Estoril where you have the Casino, get the train and in the first stop you are there, or just walk next to the sea on the paredão, where you can stop of a swim or an sandwich on the way!
If you don´t know Lisbon, just take the train and leave on the last stop!!20 minutes away by train!Easy!
Also to visit: Ericeira, Sintra very close to Cascais!
My family all lives in Cascais and so this apartment allows me to be closer to them! It is a sunny, very pratical apartment. Close to everything, where me my husband and our baby spend many weekends. When i lived there full time i had to go to work to Lisbon everyday, it was 30 an hour from there, so it was stressful, and the thought of coming back to that cozy home with the opportunity to go for a walk near the sea….it made my days so much easier!
Luisa Posser purchased this apartment in 1982
It is a very well located property, at the end of the historical centre, but not close enough so you have a lot of noise outside! It is a peaceful area! Sometimes you hear the church bell, some seagull….and the sea that it is a couple os minutes from the apartment. Go to the promenade so you can go see the Boca do Inferno and take a(free) bike to the Guia where you can have a great meal, like i have done this weekend!
If you want somewhere closer, to to the next door restaurant, or toward the sea, try the marina you have a lot to pick from!
The sunny verandah during the whole day it is a delight, during the whole day you have sun and the table and chairs outside are enough to enjoy a great book!
The sun! It is the best at this apartment….and then after a few years, we have started to have to much around it, the marina, great pastries, restaurants, everything you need you have around that area!
It is a very pratical and comfortable house with everything you need from wifi, cable, verandah, sun, sea, beach, promenade, lovely sightseeing, and a garage so you don't get stressed trying to park your car.what else do you need, coming to portugal?
We had a perfect time in Cascais for one week in this apartment. It is spacious, airy and filled with light. It is equipped with everything needed to be comfortable and self contained. We especially liked the location. It was minutes from the beach, town, park and marina but not right in the middle of the tourist areas so it was quiet. We enjoyed exploring the quaint back streets and alleys around the unit and sitting on the balcony watching the people. Luisa Was a perfect host and made us feel very welcome.
the apartment was clean and spacious but quite basic. The television was not working for the duration of our stay despite attempts from the owner to fix it. the location is central ,though it can be noisy at times due to traffic and pedestrians .
Met by the owner on arrival at 11-00pm at night . Luisa the owner had baked us a lovely cake which was very thoughtful.
The apartment was in a great position and there was a magnificent park just across the road. We spent quite a number of hours in the park where there was a very well priced café. eg an Americano for less than a euro. The centre was minutes away as was the train station. Had a really relaxing holiday.
A delightful flat with all you could require for a comfortable stay. Clean, spacious and airy. Set in the older part of Cascais, yet near sea, marina, park, art, public transport, market and free bikes to loan. Luisa was most kind and helpful. We enjoyed the restaurant next door with milk from tiny shop in the street below too.
Luisa's apartment is ideally located across the street from a lovely park, a church, and a few blocks away from central tourist area, but still close enough to the train station to easily go in and out of Lisbon.
The apartment has everything you need to feel at home in Cascais.
Within walking distance are shops, minimarkets, larger grocery stores, and many excellent restaurants.
We enjoyed walking along the promenades beside the beaches and coast to explore the beautiful area and then being able to return to our apartment, set outside the crowds of the central tourist area.
Luisa, was very gracious and recommended charming and good local restaurants and places to visit.
If you are looking for a place to immerse yourself in Cascais and the Portuguese experience, this is a great place to stay.
The apartment its very cpacious, stylish antique furniture, with all the necessary equipment. Its very near to the beach and also just few minuts wall to the city center where are several resturants, bars, shops, etc. Frent od apartment its also very beutifull park.
Across the street its only think what we didnt like to much (a church) which was ringing too often. We couldnt sleep more than until 8 a.m. But in a few days we almost acustombredet on those ringing and didnt was so much annoying.
We liked very much your apartment and Cascais and we are sure that we would return soon.
All around the apartment there are a total of 3 parks, one of which it is called Parque Marechal Carmona, its a peaceful park very good to take children but also for a romantic walk. It has peacocks, ducks and little turtles, also nice romantic benches and lakes.
Nearby the apartment, you have the historical centre with many little treasures to discover, many pubs and little restaurants. The main bay of Cascais is just there! where you have the beach!
Right across the street from the apartment, you have the Cultural Center of Cascais with many exhibitions all the time and also the Marina, where you find more restaurants and nice places to relax!
Also across the street to another direction you have Paula Rego Museum,Sea Museum.
You can also go for a free bike ride! Go to Guincho, it is worth seeing the beach and all the way there you have a ciclovia where you can go peacefully!
Downtown, is very close, where you can buy many Portuguese typical things! Also you can go for an ice-cream at the place Santini! From downtown the end of the street starts the 'paredão' that ends up in Estoril. So you can walk and stop half way to go for a swim and then go back again and continue until you see Jonas, a nice place to have a snack! Nice salads and sandwiches!
If you like Casinos you can just stay in Estoril for a while and go check out the Casino!
The train station and bus stop it is 10 minutes walking or less from the house.
You also have near the train station 2 big supermarkets, and shopping centre where you can go shopping or just to the cinema!
Lisbon is 20 minutes away, by train, every 15 minutes! and then you can take the subway or just start walking to go see Lisbon!
As for the house itself you have a quiet apartment, very cosy with wifi and cable tv for your comfort, it is not a big house but its a very comfortable house and big enough for a couple or a family of 4!
