4 bed, 3 bath with 4 acres in incredible rural location with amazing views
I grew up in the beautiful Lake District, and my husband in North Yorkshire. We bought this house so that our two boys could enjoy the sort of childhood freedoms that we were lucky enough to have!
Owner purchased this House in 2012

Lovely house in wonderful location
The house is in a truly inspiring location with lovely views across the valley. Be warned that the driveway has many large potholes and it is a challenge to drive up to the property.
The house is great for 4 adults and a couple of children but not for 7 adults as advertised. The bunk beds are meant for children but not comfortable for an adult.
We did feel the fridge and kitchen cupboards should be emptied of the owners food. The fridge isn’t very big and with the owners food we didn’t have much space for ours. The only cupboard that was empty was tiny. We had to leave our food on the counter.
The area is superb for walking and birdwatching.
I’m sorry there were some aspects of your stay that disappointed you. We did have a long discussion about occupancy when you asked for a price reduction, and I explained the different ways we could set up the rooms; you opted to take one bunk bed and a single rather than setting up a double bed for your third couple. I’m sorry this wasn’t as comfortable as you’d hoped. 7 adults is our maximum and we explain clearly the set up to larger parties - I’m sure you recall that when you mentioned you might invite another couple to stay, without paying, I told you that this would not be advisable as our standards would be compromised. For 6 people the accommodation is less than £35 a night each, compared to £42 for a bed in the dorm at the youth hostel in Malham
We make it clear in the information that we leave food staples, tea, coffee, sauces, spices, essential cooking condiments, jams and spreads etc for the use of our guests, and people generally like this and find it convenient and generous. I’m sorry this was not the case for you - it was in the information I sent, and if you had let me know I would have removed them before you arrived. You were welcome to make use of the spacious stone pantry adjoining the kitchen, as well as the cupboards; this has proved adequate space for all our other guests, most of whom had longer stays than your party. As a family we manage to fit in enough food for 8 people for the Christmas period every year.
I’m glad you liked the location, apologies again that other aspects didn’t meet your expectations. We don’t like disappointed guests, and you are our first, on here or any other booking site.
We loved our stay.
Claire was super communicative and helpful. The house was lovely and set in the most picturesque of places.
Lovely big kitchen and lots of games to keep you occupied. Awesome for kids too, as it had a playroom and lots of outdoor activities in the barn.
lovely house in lovely surroundingd
We had a wonderful stay, contact with the owner was very good. We made several beautiful walks from the house.
You could not want for a more beautiful location and house.
If the weather is kind, sitting outside the house watching the wildlife and soaking up the scenery is unbelievable!
Great for families who love the outdoors and who just want to spend some quality time together!
The accommodation was better than previously described. Everything is lovely decorated and the equipment (we love the AGA stove) is perfect.
We (my wife and to teenager) have had a superb week in the Dales. The tips of the landlords were all great so we could explore the area well without searching for further information.
We hope to book again in the future
Thank you Ingo, I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. You and your family are welcome back any time, please do get in touch if you would like to come back.
Beautiful rural location, in 4 acres of its own land. Walk out of the door to numerous circular walks from 1-20 miles, including the Nidderdale Way, and the 6 Dales trail. Two great local pubs, supermarket delivery available from all major chains. 10 miles to historic Pateley Bridge and Masham, home of the famous Black Sheep Brewery. Scenic drives of less than an hour to Harrogate, Grassington, Wensleydale, Brimham Rocks, Aysgarth Falls, Jervaulx, Fountains, Bolton Abbeys, Malham Cove etc. Michelin starred Yorke Arms 6 miles away.
