Amazing Stay in Bologna!
Marina greeted us with open arms, even after arriving home earlier that day from Greece. She is a very sophisticated, warm woman with a talent for decorating with charm. She went out of her way to draw maps to help us get to places we wanted to visit, including many shopping areas. We appreciated her kindness and helpfulness. The apartment is beautifully decorated, inside and out with a lovely place for two people to sit and enjoy wine, etc. The view of the charming buildings around the courtyard was fantastic. Very quiet area but as soon as you walk out the doors into the portico, you are steps from activity of all kinds. We took a cooking class at "Taste of Italy" by Maribel in Bologna and made the most amazing spinach pasta dough for our Bolognese lasagne.
Lovely apartment in Bologna
This apartment is small but very clean and in a great location. Near to the city center but quiet and peaceful. The bed is comfortable with nice linens. We had everything we needed for two people. We did not meet Marina but her niece Alexandra met us and was very helpful. The balcony is lovely and great for drying clothes. Washing machine works well. Do note that there is no lift and there are about 60 steps up to the apartment. Bologna is a lovely and historic city with great food. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and recommend this apartment.

Stylish & very comfortable
A very comfortable well located apartment. Marina was so welcoming & helpful. We had a lovely time there as a good base to travel & walk around the fascinating city of Bologna
A charming apartment in a wonderful location.
I really enjoyed my two weeks at Marina's apartment. I loved getting to see how it felt to live in an Italian apartment building: walking through the courtyard full of plants, meeting friendly neighbors and just absorbing the sights and sounds of life.
The apartment itself is great from the art on the walls to hemstiched sheets on the bed and the attractive dishes in the cupboard. Another really handy feature: washing machine and drying rack that fit easily on the balcony.
Marina's niece was also very helpful to me.
The 'University of Bologna is the oldest in the Western world (born in 1099 AD) and the Municipal Opera House also. Bologna is the most important highway and railway hub of Italy. Many tourists choose it as a city in which to sleep, to take daily Ravenna Venice, Milan, Florence and many other cities. Bologna is a beautiful city, yet unknown to the large number of tourists. And 'rich in museums and churches, Works of Art. In the Middle Ages had a hundred towers, which were left about twenty hours. Among these, the extraordinary Tower and the Tower Garisenda Donkeys, 101 meters high, whose summit offers a breathtaking view of the medieval city. There are however still 37 km of arcades, which help give the city such a special and magical atmosphere. It 's significant that John Grisham has set his latest novel, The Broker in Bologna. Staying "On the Roof of S. Lucia "will be in the heart of the historic center of town, and you will find a few hundred meters: The Church of St. Lucia, now Aula Magna of the University. (Next to the apartment) The Two Towers, the symbol of the city. Piazza S. Stephen and the Church of St. Stephen, with its seven churches merged together. The Complex University of San Giovanni in Monte, at a convent in 1500. The Lamentation of Nicholas Dell'Arca, located in the Church of St. Maria della Vita, one of the most dramatic of Western Art History. And many other monuments and opportunities. We wait!
