Overview

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms + Loft, 4.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 18)

This three-level home is perfect for large groups year-round. The voluminous and woodsy vaulted great room, with a wall of windows, offer fantastic natural light and magnificent views of the Continental Divide. There are 5 bedrooms (plus a loft with more beds), four full baths and two half baths. The property is great for weddings, receptions, reunions, or just vacations.

The home is located overlooking the town of Breckenridge, two blocks from the base of Peak 8. Breckenridge is a 140-year old Victorian mining town - a real town. It has more night life than anywhere else in Summit County, with over 200 restaurants and shops. Besides the usual skiing in winter and hiking and biking in summer, Breckenridge offers a summer music festival with orchestral performances from classical to contemporary music.

If your group is larger than this house accommodates, OR you want to be closer to downtown Breckenridge, check out our other property, the McWilliams House, as an additional or alternative rental. Located just blocks from Main Street with great views of the ski hills, the McWilliams House is our family's favorite location because it's a short walk to the ski shuttle, the gondola, every restaurant in town and City Market grocery store. You park your car and may never use it again. The McWilliams House is VRBO listing #15822.

Guestbook comments from the manager

This house helped bring together 3 families who would otherwise not been able to be together for the Christmas season. Immediately we all felt at home with the rustic decor and wood surroundings.

Family from San Diego, Alaska, Texas & Kansas, all met here in Breck, CO. My little cousin saw snow fall for the first time in this house. We all gathered together to pray before dinners and laughed through dessert.

One night consisted of roughly 16 people playing catch phrase huddled together on the main floor. Christmas carols joyfully echoed in the background of aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, spouses and cousins catering up on their day on the mountain.

The party was split between snow-boarders and those who ski. Ping pong matches became heated with competitive spirit. Two newly engaged couples shared their proposal stories.

Trips to the village enchanted us all with its quaint set up. The nativity scene shown bright in the center of town as we hustle back to our cars to return to this lovely place.

Merry Christmas!

Amazing house for reunions!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I LOVED our stay at this Peak 8 house! We were gathering for a reunion after several years and it was the perfect place to catch up, explore and have fun. Would highly recommend for big groups looking to get the most out of their stay in Breck!

Fantastic

  • 5 of 5

My family from different states got together for reunion. My family did not see the house until they arrived but all of them were very happy and all of us really enjoyed our stay.

I just got home to Arizona and plan on calling the owner, Ingrid. I wanted to convey to her how thrilled we all were with the house. We did have a few issues and I did call Ingrid about them but I do have a couple of other issues I would like to talk to her about before we left.

We could not have asked for better accommodations and I am so glad I found the house.

Who knows what happens next year. I still have all the information about the house.

Never know we could be back again. THANK YOU. AGAIN.

Cambellot was Great!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 12 had a wonderful week in the house. We were all able to get around the kitchen table for eating and games. Sufficient space in the house and on the outside decks to get together in groups or for some alone time. There were available beds that we didn't use. Easy 15 minute walk to the base of Peak 8 where we caught the free gondola down to town. The extra refrigerator in the garage was very helpful to store the food and drinks that were not being used that day. This is the third or fourth time we have stayed at a house in Breck that is owned by the Campbell Family. Our communications with them have always been pleasant, with prompt replies. We highly recommend this house for your larger group.

Love Breckenridge and love the location of this homey place!

  • 5 of 5

The owners were exceptional and very helpful. We had ample space for our family of 10 and everything was in working condition and made our stay in Breckenridge very pleasant. Our first experience with Homeaway and I certainly give it a thumbs up! Okie Crew loves Colorado!!!

House in the trees

  • 4 of 5

We were happy overall with the home for our reunion. We had room to spread out and also plenty of room to dine. The kitchen was well equipped. Furniture was comfy, and the younger girls enjoyed the ping pong table. We spent most of the days out and about.

Two things that could have been better was 1) one of the downstairs baths was not clean, with lots of hair on the floor. 2) most of the linens weren't very good quality, and the fitted sheets would pop off the corner of the mattresses. When we tried to find others to replace what was on the beds, the linen closet was all scrambled up with different sizes all mixed together (sort of like ours at home)! On two of the beds that were king size, a queen size top sheet had been used, which resulted in not having enough sheet to cover with. We remedied that when we found a king size top sheet.

We were rather surprised to learn that the washer and dryer were being used by the caretaker, which was OK, but it seemed there were always clothes in them when we wanted to use them, and we had to pile them on top of the dryer at least twice, in order to use the machine, or needed to transfer his clothes from the washer to the dryer.

Great place for large groups

  • 5 of 5

It was a great place for our family of 15 to stay for the holiday. Kevin is such a great guy who is willing to help with any of your needs. I would recommend this place to have large groups any day. Thank you for sharing your place with us.
