Hello Kitty; I am sorry that I have not had the opportunity to spend more time to write to say how very much we enjoyed your immaculately clean Kiawah residence....it was so very pleasing. We were very fortunate to have as an outside guest...a baby deer...a little "Bambi"...as cute as a button as the saying goes...the children took reams of photo's...just hoping that some come out to their liking.
How blessed we are to be able to come to Katie's Choice two times in one year. We were in what felt like our second home. Christmas was a joy to be able to share with our family in this cheery, cozy villa. Everything was PERFECT, from the new bedroom furniture, updated appliances, breakfast on the deck, views of the lagoon, sounds of the ocean from the deck and of course the helpfulness of our hosts, Kitty & Dan. We started 2008 in your villa and spent the last 2 weeks of 2008 in your villa. We love it and hope to return in 2009 with our new grandson! Kitty & Dan, thank you for everything!
Had a wonderful week at the villa. It had everything we needed, and more. It is just a nice short walk to the beach across the bridge over the lagoon, and the villa has the chairs, umbrella, and beach buggy to get you there. The villa was very neat and clean, you'd never know that dogs are allowed. Although we spent most of time on the beach, we loved sitting on the porches (1 screened, 1 open) and just relaxing. The owner was very responsive and made sure everything went smoothly. We even got to see the dolphins strand feeding down at the end of the island! Highly recommend and will return!
Our booking was a difficult one to fill, being that we could only travel for 3 days in June due to my husband's work conflicts. But Linda helped us pull it off! She has a beautiful place, well-equipped with all you need for living and beach going! She even answered my urgent call IMMEDIATELY when we arrived and didn't have the passcode- you saved the day! (Not may owners/managers will do that!) A well-appointed condo, updated nicely and roomy enough for my 4 growing teens! The beach walk was lovely and short, and the beach at Kiawah East Village is beautiful. Saw dolphins, deer and many friendly families. If we had stayed longer we would have rented bikes and checked out the awesome park next door. We will definitely be back!
We came down to Kiawah Island for my cousins wedding. The villa was absolutely perfect for our family. It is updated nicely and had all the amenities that we needed. It was a short walk to the beach which was very convienent for us and our dogs. We would definitely stay again if we came back down to Kiawah Island.
This is my first online review ever, so it may be long! We have rented units in other states through VRBO and been very disappointed. This was not the case with this villa. Linda was very informative and answered all our questions in a very prompt manner. Everything was clean and in excellent working order. The house lacked for nothing. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, as were all the items needed for the beach, ie chairs, towels, umbrellas, beach cart, wagon, etc. Most of the household furniture and mattresses looked new or was in excellent condition, as were the bath and beach towels and sheets/bed spreads. What was really nice was there was there were already the basic paper products and kitchen detergent and soap there to use, and new wrapped soap in the bathrooms. There was also laundry detergent. The only faults in the actual cleanliness of unit were there was a large stain on the second bedroom carpet, but it looked like it had been cleaned and just did not come out, and my husband changed the filter for the air conditioner, as it was pretty dirty, but there was one there so he just did it. Every morning was started with breakfast on the villa's outdoor deck overlooking the lagoon. We had 90+ degree weather all week, but there was always a breeze at the house and the beach. The walk to the beach is about 10 minutes away and is a very easy and pretty walk on the bike paths. Some days we rode bikes over and some days we walked. Please note, it is not accessible by car. The beach is fabulous! There is tons of area when the tide is both in or out. People ride bikes on it, play games, and fly kites. We did rent bikes from Surf Scooter, as Alligator Rentals was sold out and Kiawah Island Resort Rentals is a bit pricier, but they were not the best bikes and the company never answers their phone. We had trouble with the locks they put on, so they had to come out and replace them. Try to book your bikes early with one of the other two companies. The villa is in a great location to enjoy Night Heron Park, especially for children. We did not use it, but there was lots going on there during the week. If I had to complain about one thing is that you can hear the people upstairs, not all the time, but you can hear them. We had a toddler running around the first two days upstairs at 6 a.m. If they had not left after two days, we would have said something. Overall, though, great villa and vacation!!
The villa was just as promised. Location was perfect. We especially loved sitting out by the lagoon in the sun. We even saw an alligator swim by. We enjoyed biking on the beach, trips to Charleston, Freshfields, Night Heron Park. Thank you for letting us bring our pet. He had a great time at the beach! Would love to stay again on another trip to Kiawah. I would highly recommend this beautiful villa.
Historic Charleston is a leisurely forty-five minute drive from the island. In Charleston you can visit antebellum homes, walk the streets of an important early American port city, shop in the well-known open-air market, and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of 'southern hospitality.' Readers of Conde Nast Magazine also voted Charleston the #2 overall North American destination in North America. 26,000 readers ranked it #2, just behind San Francisco!
Just outside the city of Charleston, you can visit the beautiful gardens at the Middleton and Magnolia plantations along the Ashley River. Drayton Hall, a National Trust for Historic Preservation property, provides a look into the home of a wealthy planter of the 18th century.
