About Tim Egan

Let me introduce ourselves,we are Tim and Barbara Egan and we live south of Charlotte, NC. We were married in May 2006 and had our log cabin built in the summer of that year. We love the location and the neighbors here are very nice. We had looked all in the Lake Lure and Chimney Rock area and found this lot almost by accident. We named the cabin after Tim's mother. She had always wanted a cabin in the mountains and after raising 9 wonderful children we felt that she could also now have her dream. We consider ourselves very fortunate to find such a beautiful community.I grew up on Sullivan's Island, & Columbia SC

Presently live in Rock Hill, SC

Tim Egan purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Tim Egan chose Asheville Area

We love the beautiful lake and mountains all around. It is breath taking in all seasons. We took the tour of the lake and just realized how relaxing and beautiful it was. It is an added bonus that Chimney Rock is so close. We went to the top of Chimney Rock and got a birds eye view. WOW it is amazing!! Don't worry they have an elevator to take you to the top. My parents told me to always invest in real estate. It was Good advise!

What makes this cabin unique

We enjoy the location and all the kind people there. The lake and mountains are so peaceful as is the cabin. We enjoy watching the wildlife...birds, squirrels, and sometime deer. The deck is enjoyable with the rocking chairs and cooking out on the gas grill. We have enjoyed many evenings on the deck. The jacuzzi tub is amazing too! Especially after an nice walk and a quiet dinner!

Great cabin!

  • 5 of 5

House is exactly as represented. The only downside is the road noise below. The house is very well kept, clean, and comfortable. They have considered every detail. We even got to see a bear on the hill from the deck!

Wonderful cabin

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful, very well kept cabin. It was stocked with anything you could want. All light switches were marked, which is very helpful. More than enough seating in the living room and very comfortable bed. Absolutely no complaints and hope we get the chance to rent again.

Clean Cozy Cabin with great location.

  • 5 of 5

The Cabin was very clean and cozy. Close to the beach and Chimney Rock. The only downside was that the Direct TV didn't work most of the time, which may be fixed by having some trees trimmed and and the dishwasher probably needs to be replaced. It worked, it just needs to be secured to the countertop and there was a loose piece inside. I still gave it 5 stars because the lack of TV caused us to play board games and cards and the appliances were really a non-issue in the grand scheme of things. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic when you find it

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was beautiful, even better than advertised. The scenery around was lovely as well. There were even a few bears in the neighborhood getting into the neighborhood trash at night! The only problem was finding it the first night in the dark. The address was only on the rental agreement and in very small print, difficult to see in the dark. The street signs are also hard to read and many are hidden by branches of overhanging trees. I would definitely recommend going the first time while it is still daylight. Once you have found it, you will never have trouble again. It is just the first time that it is challenging. Also, our GPS did not have a good signal (Verizon), so it made finding it in the dark extra challenging.
