Seeking a premium luxury condo for a special vacation . . . . . WHALER UNIT 312, located on the more comfortable and quiet (North) side on the third floor of Tower 1, is a garden and ocean view, five-room suite of luxury accommodation rooms in The Whaler on Ka'anapali Beach, the 'Grand Lady' of resort condominiums centrally located on the beach rated by many travel magazines as the best beach on Planet Earth . . . Ka'anapali Beach, Maui.

For that special Hawaiian vacation, WHALER UNIT 312 is spectacular and has recently completed a half-year full renovation for our guests. It is a 5-STAR resort apartment in every respect. Newly appointed with an updated kitchen, featuring G.E. Cafe and SubZero appliances and beautiful granite counter tops. The gourmet kitchen and both luxury baths are updated with extensive use of elegant mable tiles and best quality cabinets and fixtures. The apartment has a convenient wine chiller-refrigerator and cabinet bar for entertaining. The master bath features a designer marble-tiled 'shower chamber' with opposing 'his and hers' Grohe shower heads and controls.

Built of steel-reinforced concrete walls, ceilings and flooring, the towers of The Whaler are structurally superior and measurably more quiet than many of the surrounding resorts. As an added measure to further assure guest privacy and satisfaction, extensive use of the newest high-tech soundproofing materials was installed within the bath walls and layered on all water pipes during the recent remodel of the apartment to minimize audible water pipe sound and any other noise from transferring into Unit 312 from surrounding apartments. Unit 312 is a very quiet suite of rooms -- restful enjoyment of the apartment is assured.

Unit 312 is a comfortable one master bedroom suite (extra sleeping accommodations by use of the convertible sofa), with two elegant baths, this suite of rooms has a fabulous view of the beach and beachwalk and the Pacific Ocean beyond, mystical Black Rock (a sacred Hawaiian volcanic rock feature of Ka'anapali Beach), and spectacular, picture-perfect Maui sunsets directly from our lanai. The comfort, convenience and decor panache of Unit 312 does not disappoint.

Furnishings are luxury quality throughout, including several Hawaiian heirloom pieces made of rare koa wood. Unit 312 also contains a museum-quality Polynesian art and artifact collection for guest enjoyment. Available for guest use are two flat screen TVs with DVD players and home theatre sound system with a 70+ DVD feature film collection with favorite movies of past Oscar award performances, action, adventure, history, westerns, fantasy, and favorite animation features for the children for fun evenings of nightly 'family film festivals' and on those rainy days when the kids can't play outside.

Why Carol Hunt chose Maui

Jim and I bought in Hawaii because we love Hawaii (my husband was born here, but moved to California when he was 1). We spent our honeymoon in Hawaii and lived on Oahu for 2 years when we were young. We bought at The Whaler because we had stayed here on a vacation and loved both the convenient location and the great beach. Sitting in the living room, watching Black Rock and listening to the sounds of the ocean is unbeatable!

What makes this condo unique

Outstanding location, shady (not hot) lanai with a great view of Black Rock and the ocean. Being on the 3rd floor, we are high enough for a good view and privacy yet are not uncomfortably high. Our condo has upscale appliances, a fully furnished kitchen, a unique master bath with 2 showers and touches of Hawaiiana throughout (see our pictures).

Fantastic Family get away.

From the moment my family of four entered the condo we felt like we were home. Everything was so easy, all the arrangements were made by the owners just go to the lobby and sign in, receive your key cards and your off to your Dream Vacation. The condo is nicely appointed, with modern Hawaii decor, and high end appliances. The Master bed is especially comfortable. The high end air beds were great for the Teens, one 13 and one 18. The View is very relaxing and picturesque, we spent many late mornings and evenings just sitting on the lanai relaxing. Being located on and in the heart of Kaanapali is great lots of actives just outside your door, definitely the best place for active families with teens, Black Rock is GREAT for diving , jumping, and snorkeling, turtles where everywhere. Whalers Billage is just next door, so food is plentiful, Try Hula Grill for a trueHawaiin experience. Aloha Mixed Plate for a more affordable meal. The Whaler is very nice, not too big or too small, very well maintained and staffed with friendly Aloha Professionals. James and Carol ( the owners ) are very responsive and truly care about you and the enjoyment you'll have while there. Mahalo to both for a great stay. Missing your place in paradise even as we packed to return to Seattle. Just Book this one you won't be sorry. I hope we can book again in two years when we next return.

Wonderful rental!

This was our first experience using VRBO, and it was perfect! We'd never been to Maui, and everything went flawlessly with this unit. There were lots of extras available - the patio had chairs, umbrellas, beach mats, boogie boards, and probably more that I can't remember off the top of my head. The kitchen was great, though we mainly used the fridge (thanks to whomever left a can of beer for us!). Everything was very clean and well kept and pristine. The carpet floor was very cushy and nice, as if it was very new. The king bed was wonderfully comfortable, as were the pillows. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio, as well - it was much larger than was pictured! The resort was situated very close to the shopping center, where they conveniently have an ABC store for most of your needs (as well as higher end stores). The resort itself was very quiet, and probably catered more towards an older crowd; I don't remember really seeing any children. The pool and spa were nice, and when we swam we basically had it to ourselves! Thank you again for a wonderful stay, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend your unit to anyone looking for a place to stay!

Wonderful!

The Hunt's condo was everything and more! From the first initial conversations to our checkout, everything was seamless. Carol responded almost immediately to our emails and provided excellent communication. The condo had a great view, wonderful bed, and every kitchen amenity possible. The best were the beach chairs!

I would definitely stay here again and recommend the Hunt's condo to friends.

Amazing unit in a beautiful location

We absolutely loved this condo and were so sad to leave it we tried to change our flights so we could stay longer! It has absolutely everything you need and more. It's a very spacious one bedroom unit with a great balcony which we spent a lot of time on! Also has beach umbrellas and chairs you can use which saves you hiring them. The photos just don't do the property justice. It's so beautiful and in a great location with whalers village next door. We're already trying to figure out when we can come back! Highly recommend this unit to anyone - you won't be disappointed!

Absolutely Beautiful!

My family of 4 stayed in this beautiful unit in April. We were blown away as soon as we opened the door. This was the first time we've ever stayed in a condo and were so glad we did. The extra room and all the comforts of home really made us feel welcome. The location of the room and complex was better than I expected. We took the stairs down to the beach and I could not believe how close we were to the sand. Made it so much easier with a little one in tow. I made it a point to sit out on the lanai each morning before anyone else was awake to enjoy a cup of coffee and the wonderful sounds of the waves. We even slept with the door open a few nights to hear the waves. It was absolutely amazing! The owner was a pleasure to deal with and was very responsive to our questions. We can't wait to come back to Maui and when we do, we hope to stay here again.

BEST UNIT IN COMPLEX!!

AWFUL AWFUL!! Simply tragic...that we had to leave, that is...

Let me say first that I do not do ANYTHING casually, certainly not vacationing for thousands of dollars. I do my research, and if **I** liked this place, it must be good!! Other than that, there is nothing more to add (but I will) to the other glowing reviews: 5 star unit, 5 star resort, 5 star beach, 5 star location, 5 star everything!!

This unit: we stayed here with another family who were on floor 7, and way back. Our view was stellar, there wasn't as much wind (higher you go, windier it gets) and they said, "Your place is posher than ours!" which does not show in the photos. My suggestion to owner is to buy a better camera or hire a professional coz the unit is MUCH nicer than these pictures portray!

We've stayed at the Whaler before in a HORRID unit. (Each condo is operated by different owners.) This owner OBVIOUSLY installed the best frig (husband cried when we left) and the best furnishings (slept like a baby, the 10 y/o was very comfy on the designer EASY PEASY blow-up bed & 9 y/o was happy on the comfy couch-don't pull it out, just sleep on it folded up) and best shower (fancy!) and even pots/pans. It's kind of sad when your vaca place is nicer than your home!!

The only thing the unit didn't have that we needed was a colander. I think you can live your whole life without a colander, so that does not deter from anything. That is REALLY the only thing I can say about this unit that isn't 100% positive!

To sum up: Top notch customer service from Carole, the owner, via email. She answered ALL my hundreds of questions, no matter how trivial. Top notch service at front desk and throughout unit. Beach, steps away from unit, is my #3 favorite Maui beach (#1 Napili, 15 mins drive away and #2 Kapalua 18 mins) with 9/10 y/o appropriate waves in summer and teen/adult appropriate waves in winter. (Although last Christmas they were fine for my kids)

JUST BOOK IT, you won't be sorry!!!!

Tip: Splurge one time and eat at the golf course Roy's...stellar!! (But expensive) For other days, just go to the Okazuya in Honokowai (on the way to Napili anyways) and have the ono fish or the spaghetti with meatballs (yes!) or the YUMMY fries. Hula Grill and Leilani's (pork topped nachos, please, and mai tai) are a mere minutes walk away. (Take the short cut by lobby, chain link gate into Whaler's Village Shopping Center, not as hot or crowded and faster)
