About Brian and Cindy Fowler
Cindy and I are "free nesters", that's right, not empty nesters for there is nothing "empty" in our lives since completing our careers in Social Work, Medicine, the Navy; helping start a school in Boerne; and enjoying every minute while raising our son and daughter. In a way we feel we're getting the opportunity to start anew again like our early married years when we lived in San Diego, CA and Norfolk, VA. Cindy and I love going to Broadway shows, the symphony, watching basketball/baseball games (Go Spurs/ Go Rangers!) and listening to folk rock music from the 70's. I play tennis weekly and Cindy works out at one of the many local gyms 2-3 times a week. Hiking around the area is fun, too, and we always try to finish off whatever we are doing with a glass of wine (or beer) and a great meal at one of our fantastic restaurants in Boerne.
Brian and Cindy Fowler purchased this Guest House in 1999
Why Brian and Cindy Fowler chose Boerne
We married in 1985 while Cindy and I were attending graduate and medical schools, respectively, in San Antonio. While searching for a church to have the ceremony we were introduced to the quaint town of Boerne and the historic St Helena's Episcopal Church. Who knew that 14 years later in 1999 after 8 years in the Navy and with two kids we would be buying a house minutes away from St Helena's.. We couldn't believe a victorian house built in 1907 with a large front porch, an additional screened-in porch, 14 foot ceilings and wall-to-wall long leaf pine floors was available. And all on an acre lot in the center of town with a huge yard and just up the street from Cibolo Creek. The property is walking distance from Main Street where Bergman's hardware, Bear Moon Bakery, and many other shops and restaurants are located. It took us about a second.... no, half second... to say, "We'll buy it!". We love the Boerne community as it becomes increasingly more beautiful while maintaining its small town charm. Whether it is festivals like Bergesfest every June, the Kendall County Fair in Sept, or listening to OomPah music concerts by the Boerne Village Band in the town square gazebo during the summer months Boerne offers many wonderful events to enjoy throughout the year. We also are a short drive away from San Antonio. We are excited to share our home and town with you too!

Best Boerne weekend ever!
The garden house was perfection!!! Brian’s and Cindy were the best host and the cottage was better than the pictures! The pool was unbelievable and our weekend couldn’t have been better!
This property is exactly as depicted on the website, AND it is even better in person. It is tastefully decorated, very clean and comfortable, and perfectly located. We enjoyed the pool, walking everywhere on Main Street, and riding the bikes along the creek.
Brian is a wonderful host: informative about all things Boerne, and helpful with a quick smile and genuine laugh.
We hope that Brian and Cindy continue to offer their property on vrbo. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else for our next visit to this sweet town.
Everything about this little getaway was just right! Location, cleanliness, quiet, and just right! We could walk to everything or just enjoy the cozy garden home and pool!
perfect in every way
My husband and I came for just a quick 2 night stay and it was just what we needed! The owners made us feel very welcome and were very sweet. The location was awesome! we walked everywhere and had great food and wine. Spent some time in the pool too. The guest house is very clean and new feeling. There was not one thing we didn't like or would change. Would recommend to anyone! Thank you Brian and Cindy!!
So glad you had a great time! Boerne's got a lot to offer. Thanks for your kind comments.
This was our second time staying, with likely many more times to follow. We have stayed here the last two years for our anniversary and the place couldn’t be more perfect. The location can’t be beat. The house has everything you could ask for. Then there’s the pool and games outside for an added bonus. Brian is a great host and extremely responsive. Do not hesitate to stay here.
So great to share in your celebration!
Relaxing hill country getaway
Such a beautiful home and yard right off of Boerne's Main Street. Perfect distance for walking to the river or to get food. Brian was extremely helpful and available if we needed anything. It was a wonderful weekend stay!
So great having you guys! Happy delivery!
There are deep caverns to explore including Cave Without a Name and Cascade Caverns.
Bat viewing at dusk at the "Old Tunnel State Park" near Comfort is a lot of fun especially if enjoyed with one of the best hamburgers in Texas at the Alamo Springs Cafe which is adjacent to the park. Live music often on weekends.
And don't forget about Six Flags, SeaWorld, and Top Golf just south down I-10 in San Antonio.
