Lovely vacation rental
We stayed mid April at Bedrock - six adults - and there was plenty of room for all of us without feeling like we were stepping over each other! There was plenty of kitchen items which allowed us to make coffee, breakfast and dinner and not run out of utensils. Gail left instructions on how to turn on hot water, and there was plenty for all of us.
Our only suggestion would be to make sure your GPS system has the address correctly so that you are not driving in the dark, trying to find the gate name "Bedrock" as there are no addresses or road lights and the house was not lit up. But it was a nice location to find in the day time!
This property really impressed us. The location was great - very scenic - with a lovely small cove / beach close by. We brought our two dogs so the outbuilding was wonderful.
Its location close to Cleggan and Omey beach really suited us as we did not wish to stay in Clifden .
The house was very very comfortable - and very well equipped with good quality equipment.
The lady who manages the property was most helpful and only a phonecall away - we will definitely be renting this property again next summer.
Thank you for your lovely review and delighted you enjoyed your holiday!
Great family get away.
The house is large and only seconds to the beach. It has everything you could ask for and if you have forgotten something Sweeney's is only a few minutes away with pub, restarant and market. An absolute must for the quiet getaway.
Stunning property in a beautiful part of Ireland
We had a fantastic time at this house, homely and clean. We were very impressed with the size and comfort, not to mention the location. We would definitely recommend this for families or couples.

Warm Modern Clean Cosy
We had a wonderful stay in Bedrock during July14. The house is superbly equipped and very clean – we had an infant with us so this was paramount – we has no worries at all in this house. A real comfy yet modern building that is laid out with great thought and attention to detail. The table tennis room is good when weather turns wet. Unlike a lot of houses in area (of which we have stayed in many over the years) this house really feels like a nice holiday home - and not an overused/rented investment property. Really looking forward to getting back to Aughrusbeg next year – we will be booking this house/home again. A great spot in a wonderful part of the world.
Aughrus peninsula is one of the most beautiful areas in the West of Ireland. It is a fifteen minute drive from the capital of Connemara, Clifden, where there are restaurants, bars, shops and banking facilities.
Cleggan is a fishing village which has a ferry running to Inisbofin.
Omey Island is famous for its beauty and lovely walks just 2km away, which can be reached by car or on foot when the tide is out.
Cleggan head lies on the north of Cleggan bay. It is a privately owned sheep farm but walkers are permitted without dogs.
Kylemore Abbey is a 20 minute drive where you can visit the famous Abbey, long walks and the walled gardens. There is also tea rooms there.
Connemara National Park in Letterfrack is a ten minute drive where you can climb Diamond Hill and have refreshments after.
