My wife & I arrived at Andrea's apartment, and we were not disappointed at all with what we got in this booking.
Andrea welcomed us like a host would, with a clean property that was ample for us 2, in which a family of 4 is ideal.
He guided us where to go for restaurants and what to do in Genoa.
If and when i am back in Genoa, i would definitely stay again with Andrea.
Andrea welcomed my wife & myself at his apartment.
This old building converted into apartments was in an ideal location in Genoa.
A lovely stay where we were and we would have no hesitation in staying here if we come back to Genoa.
Would recommend, clarity of check-in instructions and telephone access would be a huge benefit.
The apartment is in a beautifully historic building right across from the harbor front. The accommodations are more than adequate. The wifi connection was sketchy, at first, then completely gone. We tried resetting the modem a few times with no success. We were unable to contact Andrea, having no cell phone and no access to Skype. There was a misunderstanding in locating the apartment as well upon check-in. That was resolved but a bit unnerving. Andrea recommended a great restaurant nearby, Le Machete, which was very good and reasonably priced. The owners and staff went out of their way to help resolve our confusion in meeting and check-in with Andrea. Genoa is lovely and we enjoyed our visit despite the hiccups.
Dear Mary Ann
on the website, in the 'well come travellers’ session flat’s address, map, directions and our contact are provided. I guess you simply missed to get these instructions before leaving, but I think it is very unfair to blame us for not having be clear!
Regarding phone, I am sorry but we cannot leave an open line in the flat; private flat do not offer this service, as hotels do –this is pretty normal, moreover nowadays everybody has his/her mobile phone working world way to use in case of urgent need.
Our apologies for the Wi-Fi, during your stay we had indeed some problems, luckily solved in a couple of days by the phone company.
Thanks again for your stay, warmest Andrea
Comfortable apartment in a perfect location for immersing yourself in Genoa's historic center. Ease of access to the train station and all major sights along with a view of the fascinating Piazza del Campo makes this apartment unique.
Thank you for your stay and comment, looking forward to having you here again :-)
Good value for money but dodgy end of town
I chose this apartment because it had reviews and it was close enough to the train station. The apartment was large and clean enough, though the inexpensive furnishings are starting to show their age. All in all a good value for the money.
Getting into the apartment was a challenge because the owner met us in the apartment but it was too loud outside to hear his directions via the intercom at the front door. We walked past the first elevator (tucked under the metal stairs) and were confused from that point on. It would have been much better if the owner met us at the front door.
The cleaning lady who sort-of checked us out was super friendly and we communicated despite sharing no language.
The apartment is on a border of sorts. There are nice fancy restaurants on one side but on the other the town doesn't bother to clean the streets. It was an educational experience for my child but not something I'd knowingly choose.
Dear, today, after a few months from your stay all forniture got changed and the flat repainted. Regarding the are we are in the very center of the town, the Aquarium is at not ecìven 100 meters of distance, honestly I do not think there is a best position to start sightseeing the city. Thanks for your stay, best Andrea
We rented this apartment for 2 weeks in Sept. The weather was perfect and the location outstanding. Andrea was very accommodating and helped us with info and recommendations. We loved the neighborhood and the fact that we could walk almost everywhere and in all the historic neighborhoods. The elevator makes it convenient for the disadvantaged and older folks.. We felt very safe in this apt, Also helps that Andrea speaks English.
