Finca Tita stands on its own, just below the crest of a mountain ridge, overlooking four acres of olive terraces.
To the south there are breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, and the Ebro delta. We love eating on the veranda in the shade of the porch enjoying the outlook. There is usually a welcome breeze even in the hottest weather.
To the north our property borders with one of Spain's largest national parks, which abounds in wildlife. We have seen wild pigs, goats, foxes, badgers, rabbits, and lots of birds.
Eagles often soar close overhead. The house itself has been recently modernised and comprises a living room with kitchen attached. The living room has a wood burning stove, the kitchen has a fridge freezer and gas cooker. There is a generous double bedroom, a twin bedroom with two single beds, and a bathroom with bath, shower and toilet.
Tita has its own electricity supply coming from solar panels, water is pumped from a cisterna.
Finca Tita is easily accessed by a Tarmac road from the village of El Perello.
The nearest airport is Barcelona Reus, which is less than an hours drive away.
Ryan air provide budget flights to Reus and the flights can often be very reasonable especially if booked in advance.
Car hire is available at Reus airport from a variety of companies it does pay to shop around, and it is advisable to reserve cars in advance.
We arrange for our agent to meet and greet our guests in El Perello and escort them to Finca Tita where a welcome pack of basics awaits (milk, bread, fruit, wine and teabags).
Our agent will also show guests round the house and explain about changing gas bottles, where to shop, where the best beaches are etc.
Finca Tita is eco friendly having its own electricity supply which is generated by solar panels.
The water is potable but like most people in Spain we drink bottled water and just use the cisterna water for cooking, washing and washing dishes etc.
Should you need advice during your stay you will be able to reach our agent by phone.
Roz and I live in the village of Eskdalemuir, which is supposed to be one of the coldest and wettest places in Scotland.
We are retired now and like to spend time with our family and grandchildren.
Each year we come out to Finca Tita in the Spring and Autumn, which is a welcome break from the Scottish weather.
John Miller purchased this cottage in 2006
We were looking for a little place in this area of Spain, and when we saw Finca Tita we immediately felt it was the place for us.
It offers complete privacy, in a wonderful location. The view from the veranda is fantastic with easy access to the traditional village of El Perello, and the beaches beyond.
There is also quite a bit of land which is planted with olive trees. This gives me something to potter about with when we are here. We are still trying to establish a garden with some success, and a lot of failures. Succulents seem to be survive best in our absence. Feel free to pour the washing up water over the plants in the garden.

Guest's first comment on arrival. " Is this place for sale"
Guest's wife's first comment. "How tranquil".
This charming cottage is situated in a quiet rural setting with stunning views of the countryside and coast line. The property is quaint, comfortable, homely and is well equipped and well maintained.
We found so many nearby places to visit, but a car is essential. The town of El Perello is lovely, with many bars and restaurants offering traditional Spanish fare. Nearby is the resort of L'Ampolla which has plenty of waterfront shops, lovely restaurants and bars.
We had a wonderful holiday and will certainly be returning in the future. We would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a tranquil, stress-free holiday.
We had a lot of help from the owners and their local friends as we were arriving on Christmas Eve and asked them to provide food for Christmas Day, which they did. If staying here in winter you will need to use the wood stove, but the neighbour gave us lots of chopped wood. Winter is fine because the weather in the surrounding towns isn't too cold and it's quiet, not overrun with tourists. There is lots to see in the area, including the beautiful town of Tarragona and Miravet castle. The house is stocked with books, CDs, DVDs and toys. Comfortable beds and a lovely garden. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic time at Finca Tita being very keen birders we spent the whole time outside watching the raptors flying over the stunning mountain view ! This is such a beautiful and peaceful place that I would definitely book in to stay again. Also for other keen birders you are just up from the Delta where there are nature reserves and numerous stalks, egrets and other waders. The most exciting part of the Delta were the kingfishers which we saw every time we visited! The house is very well equipped and it is lovingly kept. It is clear that Jock and Roz treat this as home from home and we were very comfortable during our stay. Many thanks. Maggie and Jason
This is a charming Finca, set in a beautiful and peaceful location with stunning views of the surrounding hills and Ebro Delta. It has everything you need for a quiet break and you wouldn't even know that you were living 'off grid'. We enjoyed many hours unwinding on the terrace taking in the views. There is some amazing cycling to be had straight from the door with a mixture of on and off road. The pretty town of El Perello has everything you need day to day with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. As stated in previous reviews a car is pretty much essential as it is set in a fairly remote location about a 10 to 15 minute drive to El Perello. We would highly recommend driving up to the Cardo Monastery from Rasquera as the views from the top are amazing.
Finca Tita is situated on the edge of a national park, and overlooking the Ebro delta, with beautiful sea views.Finca Tita is 5 kilometers from the nearest village El Perello, and 12 kilometers from the sea.
By car it is twenty minutes to the larger seaside towns of L'Amolla, and L'Amettla de Mar.
Trains run regularly and cheaply from these towns to Port Aventura and Barcelona which is two hours away.
On the coast several attractive and relatively quiet beaches are within half an hours drive.
Inland the mountain scenery is majestic and each village and town has its own individual charm.
The national park next door to us has an extensive network of cycling and walking trails which offer fantastic views, and the air is filled with the scent of wild thyme and rosemary. There is an amazing variety of wild flowers.
