Holiday Apartment limonaia is a splendor of cottage with garden

The holiday home La Limonaia is a cottage of about 150 sqm with a large outdoor garden. It is located on 3 levels and can comfortably accommodate 6 people. It is located on a crossroads of Via Roma in one of the most prestigious and quiet residential areas of Sperlonga. It is a particularly happy location for tranquility, but it is even more because of the extraordinary centrality of the sea and the old town.

Ideal for large families and groups this villa is spacious, cozy, romantic and full of light thanks to windows and glass doors that give onto the patio and outside garden where it is pleasant to stay even in winter on sunny days for lunches outdoors or just for a tea. The garden has a pretty iron gate very convenient for daily exits to the sea. So much green and flowers in the summer to make you enjoy a pleasant vacation.

Villa La Limonaia is furnished with functional and modern furniture and the set creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The house is air-conditioned and the use is subject to charges. From the entrance door You will find yourself in a very large living area where we find a large 10-person dining table and 2 comfortable sofas to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere in front of the TV. Dinners with friends and relatives are also nice for the fully equipped kitchen which is adjacent to the salon. It is on the right and is equipped with everything you need: pots, crockery, dishes, glasses, goblets, oven, dishwasher, fridge and a further ideal table for breakfast. From the living area with a comfortable staircase you descend to the basement where you will find a large bathroom with shower and a service door with entrance to the large garage. The space in the garage and so much are more than a car, but the entrance is narrow and it is imperative that the cars are of small or medium size.

Through a remarkable wooden staircase we climb the night floor where 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom are perfectly organized. Two bedrooms have king size double beds and large closets with drawers and also have windows with balconies giving onto their gardens. The third room is for the younger and has a comfortable bunk bed with a small play corner and a nice window that fills the room with light. The entire floor is served by a large bathroom with double sink and shower cubicle. In the bathroom there is also a comfortable washing machine equipped.

The villa's environments are equipped with free summer air conditioning units and heaters for winter periods. There is an LCD TV in the living room.

Extra charges

• Final cleaning and general consumption are included in the price as well as linen for both bathroom and room. For periods longer than 7 days weekly change of linen is included in the price.

• The beach service is included in La Lanterna's bathing establishment, which is best served by Sperlonga for families. Here you will be free to contact us. 1 umbrella + 2 sunbeds + 1 chair director. The establishment is central in town and is in Via Cristoforo Colombo, very convenient to walk. The service is open from April 1st to October 31st.

Sperlonga City Tax

• I would like to remind the guests that in Sperlonga, the Tourist Tax has been fully paid into Sperlonga Municipality to improve the reception of tourists. This amount is € 1 per day per person (children under 14 years are free) and must be paid in cash at check-in.

• Extra time check-in:

Check-in is free from 15:00 to 20:00. After these times a surcharge for extra check-in of € 30.00 will be charged.

• A few days before arrival, in order to be able to organize our meeting better

House Rules

The check-in time is set at 15:00 but can be flexible and if the villa is free from the evening before your arrival, you can safely get in from 12:00. Check-out is scheduled at 10:00.

We invite you to respectful people by avoiding annoying noises and especially nocturnal strikes.

Smoking in the house is prohibited. A security deposit of € 200.00 will be required to guarantee any damage that will be returned upon checkout.

Our 4-legged hairy friends are welcome only if authorized. An extra fee of € 20 per night will be required up to a maximum of € 100 depending on the extra cleaning.

A ride around

Sperlonga is one of the most characteristic villages of the whole province and offers a lot to its guests. The country owes its picturesque structure to the need to oppose a defensive system against pirates rampaging on the sea. In addition to a clear and clean sea rewarded for years with the symbol of the Blue Flag and a sandy beach where large and small ones can enjoy, is characterized by a historic center formed by narrow medieval streets with artisans' shops and shops of all kinds. The Piazzetta in the historic center is an evening gathering for a pleasant walk or a good glass of wine in the company of friends. Few steps down we find the wonderful Belvedere walk, so you might fall in love even more. Not far away, about 1 km away you will find the National Archaeological Museum of the Cave of Tiberius, where you can see important marble finds recovered in the adjacent Villa of Tiberius discovered in the 1960s. Emperor Tiberius loved to spend his holidays divided between the Capri and Sperlonga residences. Beautiful is also Truglia Tower overlooking the sea and overlooking the port of Sperlonga. It is important to remember that everything can be reached on foot or by bike through a modern bike path. A few kilometers away are many historical sites and places to visit and visit: ancient seaside town of Gaeta, Terracina with the Temple of Jupiter, Fondi, ancient city with the Baronale Castle and Cyclops, Cassino with the famous Abbey and so much more.


How to get to the house

For those arriving by car you have to enter Sperlonga from the side towards Gaeta arriving at the top of the village and descending the panoramic road Via Roma. In the middle of the descent there is an inner road on the right which leads to La Limonaia. The house has no civic number but on the gps / navigator enter Via Roma 33 which is the closest reference. For those arriving by train the most functional station is Fondi / Sperlonga. The station is served capillary by taxi and coach to our country. For those arriving by plane there is no advice to give since everyone is at comfortable distances from Sperlonga.

Lovely house, good location

We were a party of six plus two small kids. The house had all the facilities that we needed except for a cod which was indicated in the information sheet to be there. Some argument arose with the facilities manager as they wanted to charge us an extra 30€ for this. It was finally settled after our insistance that the rental included this item.

For the rest all was fine, good location to walk to the beach, deck chairs and umbrella included.

The reasons for giving only three stars are:

Place is a bit worn and needs some care especially the bathrooms need to carefully checked!

Argument about extra payment felt like we were put under pressure to pay the extra 30€

Great location

Traditional Italian property, the interior and furnishings are a little tired but perfectly clean and functioning.

Decent sized rooms and outdoor space.

Sadly the air con is NOT included but is charged extra at 10euro per day which we did not know. This is not clear on booking when you have specified this in your search category. And is much needed when you visit in August.

The location of the property is great. 5 mins walk into town and the beach or 10mins walk to the old town piazza.

The bus stop is right by the turning for the house off the min road.

The property has 2 beds and umbrella on the lovely la laterna lido. This is an excellent plus point for the property.

Paolo and Marilena were helpful and met us at the house.

Nice house and good location, terrible owner

For a family of 6, this house had plenty of room and met all of our needs. It was walking distance to the beach and came with an umbrella at one of the beach side restaurants.

However, we were VERY disappointed with the way we were treated by the owners. The listing advertised wifi and airconditoning. We did not have either.

We had to ask for the wifi, and when they came back with the unit, it did not work.

We also had to ask to use the air conditioning, as the switch was under lock and key. Although we asked for it, it was NEVER provided, for the 3 nights we stayed.

Before our checkin, we were not contacted by the owner at all. I messaged many times asking for an address, but was never provided one. After we arrived in Sperlonga, we finally got a hold of Paulo on the phone.

It could've been a great experience- but they made it very clear that they were not interested in helping the customer. For an experience that is supposed to feel like a home away from home, this was more than lacking.

I wish I could give a better review, as I liked the house and location, but , for us, next time I will not return here.

Jag rekommenderar detta hus som är lika fint i verkligheten som på bilderna. Väldigt rymligt och passar stora sällskap. Läget är perfekt, nära till både stranden och till gamla staden. Bra service från fastighetsmäklarna som ryckte ut då vi behövde det.

Some useful information about Sperlonga and its surroundings

Sperlonga is one of the most characteristic towns of the province of Latina that offers much to its guests. The town has preserved its picuresque structure due to the successful efforts of native people in defending their land against constant raids of pirates. Apart of the clean and limpid sea certified by the sign of the Blue Flag and a good beach that will like both children and their parents, Sperlonga is characterized by an interesting historical centre with typical narrow medieval streets, for years occupied by craftsmen and various shops. The central square (La Piazzetta) is a traditional meeting place, from which all evening walkings usually start, then proceeded by sipping good wine in a nice company in one of the local bars. A few steps further there is beautiful walking area called Belvedere, so be careful, because its very easy to fall in love with this town forever. At a distance of 1 km there is Sperlonga’s National Archaeological Museum of the Tiberius Grotto (Museo Archeologico Nazionale della Grotta di Tiberio), where are exposed unique marble fragments excavated from the near Villa of Tiberius in the 1960s.

Emperor Tiberius loved to spend his free time in his residences of Capri and Sperlonga. The Tower Truglia is also splendid and permanently dominates the port of Sperlonga. It’s important to remeber that everything is reachable by foot or by bycicle (amodern bikeway goes through the whole town). Few kilometres far from Sperlonga there are some locations and towns that are highly recommended to visit: Gaeta, an antique town of seamen, Terracina with the Temple of Jiupiter, Fondi, a very old city with The Baronale Castle, Cassino with the famous Abbey, etc.
