This property is HUGE !!
The house is amazing!!..a brilliant place to share with other couples.
The area is very quiet and a great place to relax.
We walked into both Grottaferrata and Marino from the house...
Frascati is more of a tourist town but very quaint .We caught the train from here to spend a day in central Rome ..2.5 euros !!!!
Back to the house ..
Huge bedrooms with very comfortable beds...all but one is ensuite ..but is just outside the bedroom door..
The gardens are well maintained..and although the other properties were occupied..we didn’t see anybody..and nobody else visited the pool except us !!
All in all just fabulous !!
We booked Villa Pierre for my 60th Birthday and we had a wonderful time. The property was Ideal for our family. Plenty of room for socializing, relaxing and having our own space. We were a total of four couples and an 11 month old grandson. We did not even have to ask for a crib, we were offered one when we made the booking,
The staff was terrific. Claudia from the Management team contacted us before we came to the property and she told as we could call her any time if there was any problem. As well, the groundskeeper Cornelius helped to make our stay very pleasant .
We stayed in the Villa Pierre for a week and loved it! There were eight of us and we had more than enough room - it's huge! We had decided to stay outwith Rome at a villa so the kids could have a pool to cool down in on the days we didn't want to go into the City.
The facilities were exactly as stated on the description minus a DVD player (that may have been at another villa!)
There are five double beds and I think two sofa beds in the lounge. One of the rooms is an adjoining family room which was perfect for my husband and kids to keep us all together but in a huge space.
We didn't hire cars, we decided to taxi it due to hire cost, excesses quoted and risk with the crazy Italian driving! There are two nearby train stations so very easy to get a taxi to the train station to go into Rome. We walked to the supermarket for exercise but it's a bit of a trek with all your supplies - you need plenty of hands to carry it all back! Restaurants are not too far but just a bit too far to walk to so you would need a taxi there.
Finally.....Marvin, Luciano and Cornelio were fabulous....so helpful - nothing was too much trouble.
We would happily stay there again, thoroughly recommend it.
Thank you very much for your kind review, this is greatly appreciated. And yes, the DVD Player was indeed in another villa :) My apologies for that! Take good care. Via Pierre Team
Peaceful oasis outside the hustle of Rome
Via Pierre is simply idyllic. We were 7 adults, one 6-year-old and one 10-month old and we had a fabulous time exploring the gorgeous property, swimming in the pool and relaxing at Villa Uliveto. It is everything you imagine staying at an Italian villa would be like. And Marvin and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed to be comfortable.
The house was spacious and clean with great spaces both indoors and out for spending time with the loved ones. The kitchen was in good order. We made breakfast every morning and devoured the bread Cornelio dropped off at our door daily.
Getting to Rome is a snap--whether you drive in or take the train from Frascati. And it is so nice to have someplace so calm to go after a busy day of sightseeing. Frascati is charming and Marvin recommended an excellent restaurant there where we had a great meal.
My one recommendation for future guests is to have a car. This is not a reflection on Via Pierre and Marvin was spectacularly patient in ordering cab after cab for us. But we really should have rented a car for our own sake, lesson learned.
Really, I would have a hard time coming up with any criticisms of Via Pierre. It is a special place and I wish I were still there.
Thank you very much for your kind words Stephanie, greatly appreciated.
Impressive on every level
We booked this property for our family vacation this year and it was perfect. The home was clean and fresh and the grounds were beautiful and peaceful. It comfortably accommodated our family of 14. It was a convenient journey into Rome on the underground. We also visited Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast while we stayed here. The manager, Marvin, was fantastic. He was incredibly helpful and made our visit so pleasant, helping us make restaurant reservations and booking taxis. We expected the property to be lovely, but it was more incredible than we imagined. Overall we had a fantastic experience and would absolutely recommend this property for anyone traveling in Italy.
Relaxing autumn days
Villa Pierre was beautiful and extremely spacious. Although it was no pool weather anymore most of the days we spent outside exploring the area or enjoying the gardens of this great place. Rome was close by and we had amazing restaurants around the corner if we did not stay at home to use the indoor barbecue (!).
Thanks a lot for the great time
The old area of CASTELLI ROMANI is famous since ancient times for its beauty and its special climate. These factors had throughout the years a great influence on the ROMAN EMPERORS’, THE POPES’ and the most known ROMAN NOBLE FAMILIES’ choice to establish their summer residences in this area. This exclusive park is located between the towns of Marino, FRASCATI (famous for its winemaking) and CASTEL GANDOLFO, historic summer residence of the Pope, built on top of the beautiful volcanic lake.
Make sure to visit the splendid Greek Orthodox abbey of SAN NILO in GROTTAFERRATA built in the year 1000.
Interesting spot to be visited is also the area of TUSCOLO, with its well known amphitheatre and some important ancient Villas.
Only few kilometres away the ancient VIA APPIA ANTICA with its world known CATACOMBS, Roman MAUSOLEUMS and that also leads to the HISTORIC CENTER of ROME.
In the close town of TIVOLI, besides the famous THERMAL BATHS, absolutely worth to be visited is the marvellous and unique VILLA ADRIANA (built by the emperor Adriano) and VILLA D’ESTE, famous for its breath-taking fountains and play of water.
GOLF at the Castel Gandolfo Country Club
The building, which was once a cardinals’ house, is now considered the MOST BEAUTIFUL GOLF CLUB IN ROME, Robert Trent Jones has turned the volcanic crater into a majestic golf course. The golf course is fully equipped and features lakes, bunkers, artificial obstacles, and many other tricks among centuries-old olive trees, oaks, and maritime pines.
