I had the most pleasurable working experience in Walnut Creek due to the fact I was staying in Holly's cottage which is in walking distance of downtown Walnut Creek and the Broadway Plaza outdoor mall where I was working. The Bart train as well as Safeway all very close by. The unit is well maintained with more than adequate kitchen facilities,clean linens,nice beds and a outdoor grilling area. It was secluded and away from traffic and very quiet. I would recommend this to anyone coming into this area and I can't wait for my next job in this area because Holly would be my first call
This was a perfect place to stay during my house hunting trip. The downtown location is fantastic! The bed was comfortable and plenty of extra linens. I love to cook and found a fully equipped kitchen with an easy access to the grilling area and a tree lined deck over looking a meandering creek and garden. The homeowner was very accommodating and gave me advice about the area that helped me decide on a "perfect new home" in this great town.
I had a super time at Holly's Cottage in Walnut Creek during my six week stay. It is located within walking distance to Downtown Walnut Creek, Safeway & Bart. The Unit is well maintained and Holly will do anything (within reason) to make your stay comfortable. You are also within walking distance to a very nice Farmers Market every Sunday Morning during the season. This property is one of the best I have rented and I speak from experience having rented more than 15 VRBO properties
Our family of 3 (two adults and a teenager), stayed at this location for five nights while visiting relatives in the area. We always prefer vacation homes over hotels so that everyone has their own space, and this location was perfect for us.
The photos do an excellent job of showing exactly what this home looks like. The kitchen is a bit small, but fully functional and well stocked with everything we needed. The whole house was clean, with abundant towels and linens. The back porch overlooks the creek, and was a lovely place to have coffee in the morning or to relax after a busy day. The living room has enough space and furniture for everyone to relax.
The owner, Holly, was extremely attentive and helpful. Her communication before, during and after our stay was exemplary. It was, without a doubt, the most pleasant experience I have had with the owner of a vacation home.
I am originally from Walnut Creek, and return to visit from time to time. I will make sure to book this location from this point onward.
This is a very unique cottage. We loved staying here and hope to make a return trip soon, The property was very clean and well maintained. We could walk to the town of Walnut Creek and were very close to the library. The owner was very helpful and contacted us immediately when we emailed her. I would highly recommend this property.
Family of 4 stayed about a week while waiting for other arrangements. Property is very well maintained, feels very nice and clean, while still keeping a "rustiqe" feel just as depicted in the photos. The location is perfect, close to everything downtown WC, including the Broadway Plaza shopping center and a Safeway. The house is located on a dead-end street, with moderate traffic. The neighbourhood felt safe.
The Civic Park, with a nice playground for the youngest (and also an outdoors ice skating rink during the "cold" season!), is just accross the creek. Same park is a good starting point for a run along the Iron Horse Trail.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to do breakfast, and not too complicated dinners, for 4 people.
Commuting to UC Berkeley is ok, by car you get off SR24 just before things jam up, and by BART it's a transition at MacArthur (about 40 minutes one way).
Only thing I can think of on the con side is that the walls between the two apartments are a bit thin, so you will occasionally hear the guests next door.
Property owner is very kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
