Space 856 sq. ft.
Property type condo
Minimum Stay nights

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Located on Lighthouse Point near the famous Tybee Island Lighthouse you have a 270 degree view of the ocean with Hilton Head, Draufuskie, and Fripp Islands in view. There are no structures blocking your view as the land beside this condominium is owned by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources for bird and turtle nesting.

There are not many places existing like this one where you can see water from every room. With a beach that is growing and building sand dunes, you have a unique setting of sea, sand, and sea oats to surround you.

Located inside the old Fort Scriven, you will be in the most exclusive area of the island surrounded by new million dollar homes. This is a quiet part of the beach ideal for relaxation. The complex is gated and has two large swimming pools, baby pool, play ground and lighted tennis courts.

There are queen-sized beds in the Master bedroom and the guest bedroom along with a queen-size sofa sleeper in the living room. For 270 degree view, see website below.

About Steve Gravely

I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains and live about 30 miles north of Clemson University in the Blue Ridge as well. Studied Industrial Engineering at Clemson.

Steve Gravely purchased this condo in 2000

Why Steve Gravely chose Coastal Georgia

With the 270 degree view off the deck, this property has the most unique view on the island. On the left side of the deck, there are no structures since the land is a Georgia Game Management area for sea turtles and shore birds.

What makes this condo unique

You can watch the sun come up over the ocean every morning while laying in bed. Also, this location is the quietest on the island as well.

Fabulous View!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures are absolutely accurate. The views are fabulous! Doesn't matter what the weather is like or what time of day it is...still gorgeous!! Air conditioning works great. Everything you could possibly need is already here. I do not reccomend the food store on the island. Go to Wilmington Island, instead. . Beach and condos were quiet here in September. Weather perfect. Yes, the stairs are a pain, but it is so worth it! Savannah is a short car ride away and so beautiful. Toaster needs replaced, bathroom tile needs replaced someday, and a fan might be nice on porch. None of these suggestions make your vacation here any less of a great time. Thank you for sharing your property.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the response and help on letting me know I need a new toaster. That is now being worked. Also, checking on the bathroom tile to see what the long term plan needs to be for that as well. Glad you enjoyed your stay and I appreciate the input.

Need to update description

  • 2 of 5

We found the views to be just as beautiful as everyone described, sunrises and sunsets were amazing. My biggest problem with the property is that it is advertised as having queen beds in the bedrooms, and they were NOT queen beds. I have a queen bed and the bed in the master bedroom is definitely a double. Also, although the person at the rental office was extremely kind and efficient and made our check in very easy, upon arrival we found that the glass coffee table top was broken, and I immediately reported it to the rental office. We were promised it would be fixed soon, but it was still broken when we left four days later. I didn't mind the stairs too much, but the walk to the beach is rather strenuous. I would not rent this unit again

Owner's Response: I did some checking on the issues raised by the reviewer and found the broken glass on the table top had to be special ordered and is due in on June 17th. The previous renters had broken it and for that I have to apologize. We have reacted as fast as the supply chain will let us. Regarding the Queen bed issue, the Queen beds there are two months old and are super comfortable since they are so new. We just had them measured a few minutes ago and they are indeed Queen box springs and mattresses on Queen frames, so we just have to agree to disagree on this issue. There has never been a Queen sized complaint before over the past 17 years, so this is a new one. That being said, I welcome all input for potential improvement as I will investigate and correct anything that has real issues.

Amazing view!

  • 5 of 5

I highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay with amazing views. The owner is very attentive and you'll get a response from him in a record time (it was less than an hour after I sent my first email). He also told me to make sure I kept his phone number "for emergencies" and to call him any time I need anything. Check in was a breeze - took all of 2 minutes, and this is including parking my car. The condo itself is spacious and has pretty much everything you need for a nice relaxing stay. I'd recommend bringing some extra paper goods (towels, toilet paper, etc). Other than that, I think everything else is already here. The only room that doesn't have an ocean view is the bathroom. You can sit on the balcony all day long (if you choose) and watch the sun rise and set over the ocean. The condo is on the third floor, so be prepared to climb a few stairs. We knew this ahead of time, so we used smaller suite cases to make it easier to haul them up. The view is totally worth the climb. You are within a very comfortable walking distance from a few restaurants (up to 1.5 miles). The owner will also make recommendations as far as good places to eat. You are just around the corner from Tybee Market where you can shop local and get some fresh veggies and awesome breads and such. You are sort of in a middle of everything, but at the same time in the quiet part of the island. Dolphins made daily appearance and you can watch them right from the balcony. If you are planning on staying here, book early - the place is a gem, and the calendar is filling up pretty quick.

I will definitely rent this condo again. The view was probably the best view of the Island. I loved waking up in the morning and looking out the doors and watching the sun rise. Very close walk to the beach, which was very convenient. It was a very hot day when we arrived and the air condition in the car has stopped working, so when we walked in the condo they had already turned the a/c down and it was nice and cool. A very pleasant welcome. The only negative I have is the couch does need replaced, the leather was peeling off and it was not eye appealing. Also it said there was a hair dryer, so I did not pack mine. There was no hair dryer. Very easy check in and very pleasant people. The three flights of stairs was rough carrying luggage, but so worth it when you see the view. I also liked how private it was and quiet for the beach. There were a couple beach chairs in the condo for use, which was nice, but we had 5 people stay and there were only two chairs. So more chairs would be nice, since it does sleep 5-6 people. I would highly recommend this condo.

Owner's Response: I got feed back regarding the sofa needing to be replaced this past week so that is being planned for late this year. It was in great shape before the summer season so now replacement is needed. On the hair dryer front, I have donated four hair dryers the past 2 months to renters so after talking with my on site rental agency, hair dryers will not be offered going forward as most of the other condo owners do not offer hair dryers. Sorry this kind of thing happens, but it does. Five new chairs are being put on the deck this week. I want to thank you for the input so we can correct any issue that pops up.

Magical place..

  • 4 of 5

Very late review, as I thought my son had done it..this condo is wonderful, beds were comfortable, it's equipped with everything you need for a great stay. the view from the balcony is magical..Tybee is a special place, and the only negative thing I have to say is that the 3 flights of steps were killer. my old body just didn't do it unless it had to..of course that isn't anything bad about the condo or the owner, just myself..would come every year if I could..any chance for an outside lift for us oldsters?..Thanks of William Hall..
