Our favorite home away from home
We stayed at Bernadette’s home last year and were happy to be able to stay in it again. It is a lovely home which is located near the center of town and also super close to my boyfriend’s uncle’s house. It truly feels like you’re at home and we love staying here. It is our favorite home away from home.
Thank you Kelley I’m so pleased you had another great trip and I look forward to welcoming you again sometime
Charming Cottage in great location
The cottage is very quaint and well equipped with everything you need.
I’m so glad you found everything you needed to enjoy your break
Cosy cottage and central to town
Comfortable, clean, well equipped cottage, pleasant outside seating, lots of character
Thank you for your comments
I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the character in the cottage
Great town centre location
Very well equipped with the strong impression of the owner caring about the visitors' needs. Nice upstairs bedroom. Kitchen is a bit of a discovery trip - eg dishwasher/oven combined unit. Useful folder of information. Not the owners fault because HomeAway seem to demand you take on their app in order to give you final arrival details which we didn't do (my phone is full of apps already) so struggled a bit with arrival - for example, there is limited parking on the road itself and to load and unload you have to park on double yellow lines. A pass for nearby parking is provided in the folder which worked fine. Carpets seemed like new so luckily we'd bought our slippers! THe museum is just around the corner from where we bought the £2 booklet with the Devizes heritage walk (the map of which is in the folder) and took an interesting tour. The museum itself is worth a 2-3 hour tour. House front door lock is temperamental from the inside - at one point we thought we'd need to leave the door unlocked but then found it worked ok from the outside. Bin regime unclear but they were collecting the day we left on Monday. We were there November so couldn't sit out but it must be delightful to sit in the private garden setting in warmer weather. Devizes is a busy small market town and the property is so close to the centre so you have only a 5 minute walk to shops, pubs, restaurants.
I’m glad you found everything to your liking
Yes the web site is all automatic and it’s impossible to get email addresses of visitors to send any details individually but I have recently booked a house myself and as long as you reply to the prompt to access the hospitality page all info is there
You get 10 mins to unload opposite the house the traffic wardens not often around and there is the permit for car park
just around the corner
I may add a note in the kitchen explaining where the dish washer is ! It’s french and quite ingenious !!
Cozy cottage in Devises
A beautiful, quaint cottage, centrally located. Perfect for our stay. Will rebook upon our next visit.
So pleased you enjoyed your stay and I’m sure your christening was fun ! Look forward to your return
Lovely cottage. Very well equipped. There was a smell of dog on the deter which I did not like.
Very good. Could not open front door. Outdoor bin very awkward to access. Great cottage though.
I’m suprised about the dog smell as no dog was there but previous guests had left nappies in the bin sadly
But will ask the housekeeper to be a bit more vigilant
Front door key just needs a bit of fiddling but usually works !
Bin is in a bin store as it keeps garden neat but anyone can always leave bin in kitchen for us to empty !
Brewery Cottage once the home of workers from the local brewery is in Wiltshires. The market town of Devizes . There is an excellent heritage museum in the town. The location is ideal for the Bath Christmas Market with the excellent bus links directly into Bath [avoid the parking ].
Devizes is close to many famous sights including Bath,Stonehenge, Lacock [the location for many period dramas including Cranford] and Salisbury voted best preserved town in UK.It is also situated on the Kennet and Avon canal and the amazing flight of locks at Caen Hill.
Recently the film War Horse was also filmed in the area in the beautiful Cotswold village of Castle Combe.
The area has many walking and cycling opportunities and there are ancient ruins like the stone circles at Avebury and numerous White Horses to explore, dogs are welcome to stay as well.
The town has all facilities for shopping and eating within a short walk of the house .
The very good local bus and proximity to good rail links mean a car is not always essential for a holiday or short break here and the main line to London is about 20 minutes away at Chippenham [London Paddington can be reached in 1 hour 20 min]
