2 bedroom terrace cottage with a glimpse of the sea from the back bedroom
About Claire Lees
I live in Great Mongeham, a village on the outskirts of Deal, so I am close to the holiday let should I be needed. I moved to the coast nearly ten years ago when the children where under 5 as we fell in love with this seaside town and couldn't think of anywhere nicer for the children to grow up.
Claire Lees purchased this Cottage in 2018
Why Claire Lees chose Deal
This property is in a great location for accessing the centre of Deal as well as the seafront. Positioned at the north end of Deal and behind Deal Rowing Club, the accommodation is just one road back from the seafront. The cottage is suited to families as well as couples and small groups of friends who want to explore this beautiful area.
What makes this Cottage unique

Charming cottages by the sea/ Charmantes Cottage am Meer
Cozy and lovely furnished in a casual modern country style, it offered us a perfect stay. When we arrived we were glad that there was coffee and milk for us in the beautiful country house kitchen. Deal and its surroundings offer many opportunities for a perfect holiday.
Deal's pebble beach is just metres away and you will love the Georgian architecture on the seafront and the picturesque fisherman cottages along Middle Street as you walk along to enjoy brunch at the Deal Pier Kitchen on our iconic 1950s pier. The beach stretches east to Sandwich Bay and west to Kingsdown and is perfect for beach walks, beach combing & swimming on hot days (some locals swim daily!) Picturesque fishing boats rest at the top of the shingle beach. Within a 1 mile stretch there are two castles built by Henry VIII. A cycle/footpath runs along the top of the beach which is great for children to cycle, scoot and roller boot along.
Dover cross-channel ferry port is a fifteen minute drive away & the Eurotunnel terminal at Folkestone is a thirty-five minute drive. The nearest international airport is Gatwick, a 1 hour and 40 minute drive. Deal takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach driving from London. The high speed rail link lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes from St Pancras London.
There is so much to do in the area. A car is not required with local attractions reached on foot or by local transport/taxi. There are castles to be explored, gardens to be enjoyed, cycle and walking routes aplenty on the doorstep & within a ten mile radius. There is sea and lake fishing and a championship golf course in Deal. Middle Street, the Conservation area and the north end of the High Street with its independent shops is an interesting area to explore and is at the heart of Deal.
Families are welcome to stay. You do not need a car to keep the children amused as there are plenty of fun activities in Deal. The beach is an obvious attraction - paddling, swimming, collecting interesting pebbles and prawning on Kingsdown beach at low tide. Why not scoot along the pier or follow the cycle path past two castles with cannons. All free to do. The best kiddy refreshments have to be at at the Beach Parlour for ice-cream or cake on the pier. There is also a Leisure Pool with wave machine, paddling pool and playgrounds.
