Georgetown is centrally located for all of the Rocky Mountain outdoor recreation activites we could want plus we have 7 world class ski resorts within a hours drive. There is historic Central City and Blackhawk casinos within the hour. Two nation scenic byways, 4 fourteeners, gold and silver mines, museums, and hot springs are all right here or very close by.
Besides the hiking, Mountain Biking and wildlife exposure that starts right at the front door, we can fish in Clear Creek or walk the Continental Divide. It's nice to be able to quickly get to Denver for a Bronco game, or a Rockies baseball game and then come home to peace and quiet, cool summer air and great neighbors. For the small business or corporate meeting it is perfect also for intense personal training or education.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us! The peaceful and quiet setting was so relaxing---we enjoyed watching the deer on the mountainside. The kids loved the hot tub and the pool table. Skiing at Loveland was totally awesome! We hope to return again--God Bless--the Wesker family and the Taff Family
We rented this cabin with a few families to get away and spend some quality time together. This cabin couldn't have been more perfect. It was well stocked in every way. The home is spacious and beautiful. The kitchen has plenty of everything to cook for a crowd. It seemed like Butch and Deb had thought of everything to make us feel welcome and well cared for. The home was even decorated for the Holidays. We will absolutely go back.
We stayed at the Saxon Mountain Retreat for two nights the weekend after Thanksgiving. It was my parent's 50th wedding anniversary and we were looking for a place large enough to host 11 people comfortably.
We had 8 adults and 3 children and had just a wonderful time! The house is near the end of a road that borders National Forest so it feels very secluded, even though it is only 5 minutes from I-70! The house is less than an hour from Denver so is perfect for a quick getaway. 15 minutes gets you to Loveland ski area or Idaho Springs and 30 minutes gets you to Silverthorne and the Factory Outlet mall.
Very spacious and clean, plenty of beds (which were very comfortable) and towels to use in the outdoor hot tub!
Butch and Deborah were very accommodating hosts! They were flexible with check-in and check-out times and provided excellent and timely communication. Upon our return home one member of our party discover that they left their phone charger behind and the owners retrieved and shipped it off the them within 24 hours!
We will definitely keep them in mind for future events and family reunions!
Thank you for your hospitality!
This is an amazing property - spacious (we were a group of 17), well stocked and beautifully set-up! The pool table and hot tub kept us busy. There is a beautiful hike that starts from right behind the house and we did it both the days that we were there. And oh, to our greatest joy they had the NFL package which makes us want to give this place a 7 star!! The owners are real nice too - they let us check in early and stay late and gave us handy tips that made our stay easy and fun.
Would highly recommend this place!
This place was amazing! A group of us traveled from 5 different states and this house made it one of the best reunions ever! Kitchen was well stocked, plenty of room and games for everyone. We will definitely be back! Thank you!
This property was everything it was listed to be. The location was excellent, and the rooms were clean and spacious, able to accommodate our whole family group. We never felt confined by the space, whether in the kitchen, in the living room, or dining at one of the 2 tables. The pantry was well-stocked with spices and seasonings, and we even contributed a few staples that we had picked up, and had not gotten around to using. When we had a request of Deb and Butch, they replied quickly through phone text message or voicemail.
Given the large amount of people who can be accommodated in this property, the price is fair for all you get. I would highly recommend this property for a large group. Historic Georgetown is delightful and should not be missed. Do not mistake the entrance (off I-70 at the roundabout) area for the quaint town of Georgetown. The town is to the west, as you come to the roundabout.
You are in the Georgetown-Silverplume National Historic Dictrict so there are plenty of historic things to see and do such as mine tours, pan for gold, Horseback riding, Mountain climbing, mountain biking, snowshoeing, Hike the 14teeners, go ATV'ing or jeeping,, ice skating, zip-lining, wine tasting, and many more.
