Very Smelly Musty House; cobwebs inside and out and a little dirty with trash on the floor.
We checked in at around four in the afternoon on Friday and found trash on the driveway and on the floor throughout the inside of the house. It needed a good vacuum and mopping. And it looked as if the house had not been dusted in some time. But worse was the smell of mold, a very strong musty smell. We went out and bought two cans of air fresheners but that would only last an hour or so before the smell was overwhelming again. We had to turn down the air conditioner and open doors to let in fresh air. I sent an email to the service and was surprised to see someone the next morning to take care of the spiders and bees outside as well as knocking down a lot webs. Unfortunately we did not hear from house keeping until Monday and by then my family had cleaned the bathrooms and the areas they were using. Too little too late. Things we were not aware of included: The driveway is very steep with a turn and difficult to back down, Many of the blinds on the windows didn’t work properly and gave to that neglected look of the house, There were 3 swimming pools but one was closed, one was too far away and the other one we could not find. The ad said the house sleeps 11, but 3 have to use bunk beds and 2 of those beds are not made for small children or adults. We 7 adults in our party and two had to sleep on a couch hideaway bed. For the view I give this stay 2 stars and that was for the wonderful view.
Hi Daniel, thank you for staying with us and taking the time to post your review. We rely on the feedback from guests so that we know how to improve the guest experience in the future. Our maintenance team will be doing an inspection of the house to address any odors that may be present. We would like to apologize that the unit was not up to your expectation upon arrival. Your patience while we tried to correct some of the issues reported was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, the pool closure was not something we were notified of, otherwise our customer service team would have notified you right away and assisted you in locating the alternate pool. We appreciate your feedback and honesty and hope that you continue to book with us.
Cozy and Quiet with Amazing Views
This cabin is super roomy. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the different views. It is a little dated in the bathroom and the stairs are a little narrow to go up and down but the views from the balcony are amazing. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and taking in the beauty of the surroundings. Jackson Mountain homes is very friendly. They called to let us know one of the pools was going to be closed but the other 2 were available. They also checked on us during our stay to make sure everything was ok and to see if we needed anything.
Beautiful view, very nice cabin.
The deck looks over the Smoky Mountain Park for a fantastic view. The cabin is just like the pictures, no surprises. There are close neighbors but you won't know they are there. Use the Golf Creek Rd. , the Martha McCarter Rd, is a narrow goat path. The patio door lock is a bit difficult. Do be careful, the plush carpet on the stairs is slippery, Could use more children's TV programs on cable or DVD. The light switches were confusing and some loose wall receptacles need replacing. (all little inconvenient problems) The kitchen is well stocked, the beds very comfortable. A restful enjoyable stay would stay again..... Oh, and be sure to bring a phone charger, something (high altitude? )will drain the batteries.
Tucked away gem
The drive up the mountain can be rough-and the driveway is atrocious. However, the views from the decks are amazing. Wake up early for a sunrise-you won’t be sad. The cabin is a bit dated, but cozy. The kitchen is tight if many are there trying to cook, but it does have everything you could need to prepare a meal. The hot tub and pool table are a nice addition, and were very much enjoyed our entire stay. Housekeeping was great in bringing us more towels when we requested them. The two tv’s down on the very bottom story don’t have a remote and you can’t change the channels, but that’s just a minor issue. Overall, we were happy with this little cabin, and we probably would return!
Thank you Brittanie for staying with us and for taking the time to share. We are glad you enjoyed your stay
Nice mountain getaway
Overall it is a really nice vacation spot! Other than a little musty of a smell, and a broken towell rack it was very clean and the view from the deck is amazing. Make sure you have a gps or print the directions because you will most likely lose your phone signal.
Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share. We want you to know the issues you encountered have been corrected. We hope you will stay with us again, giving us the opportunity to exceed expectations.
