The villa sleeps anything from 1 up to 8, but only a maximum of 6 adults at a time. All rooms have ceiling fans and Air-conditioning (central A/C for all rooms, with cable TV, & Wi-Fi. Antigua is world renowned for is ‘perfect year round climate’ and it’s excellent beaches. They say there are 365 beaches on the island, and Villa Coby is in an excellent position to explore these.
When in Antigua you can sail, fish, snorkel, Scuba dive, ride horses on the beach, play tennis, play golf, fly through the rain forest on zip lines (harnesses), swim, or go Duty Free shopping in St Johns. If this sound too much likes hard work you can simply relax by the villas’ private pool or on the superb beach.
Whilst on the island you must visit Nelson’s Dockyard the best preserved 17th Century Dockyard in the world. There are several historical places to explore with some great views from famous sites such as Shirley Heights.
At night there are some great restaurants and bars from low key Caribbean beach bars to high end sophisticated and elegant dining establishments.
I was born in Antigua though work in the UK and USA. I have 3 children who adore Villa Coby and Antigua
Randall Jennings purchased this villa in 2012
This property is large modern and airy with a nice view onto the lagoon and is walking distance to the supermarket and a superb beach. It has good sized rooms and a good size pool
Close to stunning beach.
One of the only properties in the estate a separate outside dinning Gazebo
“The family had a great time at the villa, walking distance to the gorgeous beach, well stocked supermarket and great restaurants (which included a converted London Bus!) and John, the manager was a wonderfully friendly and helpful man which all made for a really enjoyable holiday. The pool is a great size/temperature which the children adored.”
A very pleasant experience from the day we enquirerd about the villa to the owner.
On arrival at Antigua airport we met up with John the property manager of the property. We followed him to the villa in our hired car which made life very easy as you are quite tired after the flight. John was always at the end of the phone if there were any problems. We saw him every few days when he came to clean the pool. Nothing was to much of a problem for him and made our visit so much better. A really nice guy.
The villa is situated down a side road by Jolly Harbour. Although walking distance to Jolly Harbour the location is very peaceful. Several beautiful beaches are located within a ten minute drive.
The villa is very spacious and has everything you require for a great holiday. We will not hesitate to stay here again.
Everything was as expected and matched what other reviewers have said. Excellent property in very good shape. Clean and well-maintained. Nothing flashy which explains the reasonable price but it had everything you needed. The property manager (living nearby) was quick to help on multiple occasions. The beach is a fairly short walk away and is excellent. Having the pool at the accommodation was very helpful though for late afternoon when you wanted a swim but didn't feel like heading back to the beach. Traveled as 4 adults and 3 kids and had no issues with space. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Antigua and would highly recommend it to others, particularly families.
I will start with a review of the island. We chose Antigua because of the number of beaches, size, and low crime rate compared to the rest of the caribbean. Our expectations were exceeded on every level! This was not our first trip to the caribbean, but it was our most memorable! Jolly beach has the bluest water that we have ever seen! I recommend paying the twenty dollars for the beach chairs and umbrella, it is worth the expense, trust me! The vendors can be a little annoying, but the view, and sunsets are worth it! Half moon bay is GORGEOUS, snorkeling in the clear water there is Amazing with nice coral, and lots of fish species! Darkwood beach is also very pretty with mangroves for shade, snorkeling, and an excellent place to get a rum punch and watch the water come alive!
Villa Coby. We chose this villa for its location, (within walking distance to Jolly Harbour), size, pool, gazebo, clean look (not cluttered), and most important the price. All of our EXPECTATIONS were exceeded! Upon arrival we were greeted by Suzette the cleaning lady, and John the property manager. The two of them made us feel at home instantaneously! Suzette is very charming, hard working, and lovable! We will miss her! Give her a hug for us! John always has a big smile, he acts on your needs expediently, and is the best property manager that we have ever met! Villa Coby is on a very quiet road with a lagoon in the front. Having the lagoon is like having your own private bird sanctuary, we loved that, especially in the mornings! The pool was amazing and always kept clean! The layout of the house was very nice as well and would be great for any size group. This villa is located on the best side of the island for beaches. You still have time to hike through Pearns Point before the developement gets into full swing, this is a must do, most Beautiful 360 degree view that I have ever seen!
I would suggest not getting a rental car. Taxis are fairly inexpensive on this island. Go down to Castaways at Jolly Beach, and have them put you in contact with Randy. He can set you up with any adventure that you are interested in.
I hope this helps at least some of you!
The comfortable, spacious villa is located in a quiet, rural spot with open views to one side and front. The large deck outside has plenty of shade and modern furniture. It is only 10 minutes walk to beautiful deserted beaches, bars and a well stocked supermarket. There is also a fish and chip London bus and pizza/bar around the corner for takeaways.
Jolly Harbour is totally unspoilt and has everything you need for a beach holiday but I would recommend hiring a 4x4 to explore the other gorgeous bays nearby as well as other parts of this small island.
John, the friendly property manager was always quick to respond when we had a query and offered good advice about the area.
The cooling breezes kept temperatures pleasant and therefore did not need to use the air conditioning as electricity is very expensive.
Next year we hope to return as we enjoyed the whole experience so much!
