What makes this Cottage unique
The property of La Roumaude is situated in the Cathar countryside, nearby de medieval cities of Mirepoix and Carcassonne, between the French Pyrenees and the Mediterranean sea, in the South of France. La Roumaude is located nearby the village of Saint-Benoît. La Roumaude is a renovated working farm in the middle of 4.5 acres of meadowland and trees. The property is named by the small river that runs through it. An ideal holiday location in the middle of an unspoilt nature where you can enjoy peace and tranquillity. It is also an ideal situation to combine your holidays with cultural excursions along the route of the Cathar castels. Plenty of other sportive and distractive excursions are also possible. The property has two “gîtes”: “Le Noyer” and Le “Lilas”

Quiet, peaceful, relaxing place to stay
We stayed at La Roumade for a week in August 2019 and had a great holiday. Lovely friendly hosts , spacious comfortable accommodation (and cool in the hot weather), great pool, beautiful countryside, and interesting local walking & wildlife. Far enough out of the towns to avoid streelight pollution so the stars at night were glorious. We were sad to leave, and hope to be back sometime.

Well-equipped gite in beautiful Languedoc
Very comfortable, well-equipped gite surrounded by beautiful countryside. So quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The swimming pool was kept spotlessly clean and at the perfect temperature. Comfortable sun loungers provided with soft mattresses and shade if required under a lovely walnut tree. The hosts were so welcoming, friendly and helpful; providing anything we needed but never intruding on our privacy. Local town of Mirepoix well worth a visit, especially on market day. A good location for visiting Carcassonne, Rennes le Chateau, the Cathar castles and only an hour from the beautiful beach at Narbonne. A lovely place to relax, but plenty of activities available too.

N utiliserons plus votre site pour faire des reservations
Nous réitérons nos excuses pour le désagrément causé pour les deux premiers jours (la fin de journée le jour de votre arrivée et le jour suivant) de votre séjour. Cependant, la terrasse privative, le lave-linge et la cuisine d’été étaient entièrement à votre disposition pendant les 12 jours suivants. De ce fait, il nous semble que dans son ensemble, ce désagrément a relativement peu affecté le confort du gîte. De notre côté, nous vous remercions d’avoir laissé le gîte dans un état impeccable et gardons un très bon souvenir de votre passage à La Roumaude. Bien cordialement.
MAGNIFICO, CON GANAS DE VOLVER.
Hemos estado este agosto una semana. Tanto Cristine como Guy fueron maravillosos con nosotros. La casa es nueva, muy limpia, con una decoración muy cuidada. El entorno es magnifico, un jardin cuidado, una piscina grande. Nos sentimos como en casa. Los niños se lo pasaron bomba. No dudamos en volver, se nos han hecho cortas
