Villa Magnolia is an exceptionally high quality villa in Mlini, completed in 2011 and located a short walking distance from the Adriatic beaches. The villa is very spacious with over 450sqm of living accommodation, incorporating 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (3 of them en-suite) and is designed to cater for a party of up to 10 guests. It has parking for two or more cars and a car is recommended due to the hilly surroundings.
Each of the living room the master bedroom and the second bedroom lead onto their own very spacious covered terraces which overlook the Adriatic. With the benefit of the BBQ, they are brilliant places to relax and chill out. The kitchen is very large and is fully equipped. All the bathrooms are fully tiled with high quality fixtures and fittings as befits the overall property.
The villa has its own heated pool and pool shower and is surrounded by recently stocked gardens.
The villa also has air-conditioning in all rooms, underfloor heating (and solar heating), telephone, cable TV and internet connection.
I have owned rental properties in Spain (Marbella), France (Val d'Isere), Barbados (Lawrence Gap) and Croatia.
Charles Hayes purchased this villa in 2011
Brilliant view over the Adriatic - property kept in perfect order with lovely pool.
Extremely clean, spacious and functional. A perfect base for exploring southern Croatia, especially Dubrovnik and Cavtat.
Great alfresco dining on the covered terrace offering lovely views, very good BBQ and lovely pool area. We enjoyed walking down the many steps to the beach and harbour where we caught the boat to Dubrovnic. A very good restaurant down there offering excellent meals. The only downside due to the design of the villa was the ensuite's were a little dark due to not having windows. Otherwise a fantastic villa. Eci was very attentive when we had any problems. Charles Hayes, the owner was very helpful prior to us going out there.
This was my second trip to Croatia but first with my young and demanding family! The host, Mr Hayes, dealt exceptionally well with a list of random requests and went out of his way to ensure a pleasant stay was had by all.
The house is huge and very well equipped. It's new and very clean and has all the creature comforts that one would expect of a luxury high end villa. Small details like the high quality linen, towels and toiletries really set this villa apart from some of the others we considered. My boys found no end of excitement exploring new areas of the house and the wonderfully tended gardens surrounding it.
The views from the terrace are outstanding and provided the perfect backdrop for many a barbecue using the vast array of fine locally sourced fresh foods on offer at the local markets.
Mlini itself is a wonderful unspoilt spot with some great walks and superb local eateries. My wife made a point of taking a short walk down the main road to the bakery each morning to bring back some of the famed local bread.
We had such a great time that we are sure to go back again and would not have any hesitation in recommending both the villa and the area to friends and family.
Hats off to Mr Hayes and his team for being such warm and welcoming hosts!
We are a group of 4 ladies that like to holiday together. Over the years we have rented quite a few villas in various locations. This one was one of the better ones. It is modern and nicely furnished. The balcony where we ate most of our meals overlooks the sea and the islands in the distance. It was lovely, a great place to eat breakfast. Mlini was just a short walk down some very steep hills or steps depending on the route you took. There were a couple of good restaurants and a pretty little harbour. The agent for the property was very helpful and informative. The only thing that we found the villa lacked were small finishing touches like bread baskets, napkins and some nice serving dishes. I would recommend this property, a great place to holiday with easy access to Dubrovnik, Cavtat and the airport.
Infrastruktur ist alles da, was man braucht. Ein paar Bars und gemütliche Cafés, Supermärkte etc. und die “süßen, kleinen Läden“ wo meine Frau, die Klamotteen bekommt, die sie unbedingt noch brauchte…
Spacious, well maintained property fitted out to a very high standard. Private pool set in lovely surroundings with terraces over looking the sea.
The agent was nice and friendly and had picked up some shopping at our request. In addition all the basic essentials were there to allow us to cook meals when we wanted to.
Excellent experience, highly recommended.
The family had a fantastic time in this villa. It is extremely tidy and well maintained. Everything we requested was catered for given that we had children - cots, high-chairs etc.
Will happily go again.
Mlini is 11 km from Dubrovnik and is located in an area called Zupa dubrovacka, known for its rich Mediterranean vegetation. This traditionally agricultural and fishing area is very popular with tourists due to beautiful beaches and landscapes, mild southern climate and Dubrovnik's rich cultural heritage. If you are looking for a quiet holiday and sandy beaches in the vicinity of a large tourist destination, then this is a perfect location. Although the villa is in a quiet area, the general location is excellent for children.
In former times the village was known for its water mills ('Mlini' means 'Mills') because many brooks and streams enabled their use. The brooks with many small falls still pass through the place and are today inhabited by innumerable ducks. During your stay you should also visit the Church of St. Hilarius (1449) and the Chapel of St. Roch which are both in the vicinity of the beach. Remains of Roman buildings can be found on the way to Cavtat. Mlini is part of the touristic resort of Zupa. Sandy beaches, cafes, restaurants and many other touristic activities are available. Ideal is the proximity to Dubrovnik and Cavtat (the local buses pass every 30 minutes). In Mlini you can have both, a restful holiday in a silent Mediterranean place and entertainment in touristic centers.
This is precisely why the owners of Villa Magnolia built it in this location!
