This cozy year-round camp is located on the water. The main floor has a kitchen and living room combination with an enclosed sun porch and a bathroom. Recently added to the living room is a glass front wood stove (operates on gas) for added enjoyment during cold winter evenings or instead of traditional heat on cool summer nights. Two bedrooms are found on the second floor. An attached deck overlooks the fenced in shaded yard with a dock on the water and a swimming float. A cement log fireplace is located in the yard along with a picnic table and chairs. This home is well equipped with all the necessities needed for your stay. Cozy Cabin Rocks

  • 5 of 5

The cozy cabin on Worthley Pond was perfect for our group. We had ample space for the 4 of us, and the gas stove was great to keep the place nice and toasty during the cold winter night. Everything we needed was supplied and Donna was able to help out when we needed it. The distance to Sunday River can't be beat. Thank's to Mike for bringing over some shovels before the big snow storm. Hope to return again this winter.

Quiet, Lovely Location

Thank you so very much for an absolutely wonderful stay at your home. It was quaint, quiet and just what we were looking for! Serene might describe it better. :) Please give Chamberlain a pat for us and if we ever come to Maine again, we'll contact you. Kathy and Mike, S Florida

A week with the loons!!

  • 5 of 5

My sister, aunt and I had a GREAT time staying here! The view out the windows was everchanging--between cloud shadows on the mountains across, loons fishing and preening, the heron flying through or some hopeful fishermen passing by we were well entertained! The fairy walk on the west side shouldn't be missed. We used the firepit one night and had marshmallows! Don't miss the Front Porch Café in Dixfield--Sammy, Clinton, Murphy, Minnie and the rest of their crew are great fun!!! Mike and Donna are most helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Day trip to Rangeley Lake and "Height of Land" was another highlight. If you've never heard whip-poor-wills, or have missed hearing them, this is the place for you!! My sister and I used to listen to them right behind our house but haven't for years, what a treat to hear that call again! ! And with loons and bullfrogs joining in sometimes! ! ! Didn't bring my dog this time but now I have a good reason to return!

A Wonderful Month

  • 5 of 5

Well worth the three 12 hour days to drive here. These 3 Texans thought we'd died & gone to Heaven.

The cozy cabin is indeed cozy but it was also CLEAN! Everything you can imagine was provided. Even an air pump. We had access to paddle boat, canoe & a kayak was loaned to us. Every day was spent on or in the lake. Jim swam most every day & snorkled to the 'swim platform'. Patty didn't swim b/c it wasn't hot enough. "Honey" swam accidentaly a few times.

I can't do justice to the smooth as glass water covered in am mist with loons swimming past the dock. Even the coffee tastes better here.

Grilling on the deck was a pleasure b/c it was never 108 degrees. Eating outside on the patio table with lake at your feet was incredible. The fire pit was fun, something you'd never do in the TX heat.

The owners are more than accomodating and if anything had been awry I feel certain it would have been taken care of.

There was not good cell service (who cares?) but there is a land line.

We loved The Bus for lunches & quick food. The Front Porch in Dixfield is great as well as the ice cream shop there.

Non-residents can use the Rumford library for $5/month. All we can say about this is we wish we had been here 3 months.

getting away from it all

My husband, myself, and our Labrador Retriever loved staying here last month. All the conveniences, including washer and dryer and Dish TV but right on the lake, which was so beautiful and peaceful. We loved hearing the loons!
