We absolutely loved Vans place! It was clean and exactly what the pictures showed. Van was so nice and super helpful. He took us to the market the night we got there, which saved a ton of money. Nassau is very expensive everywhere you go so I would highly suggest doing this! My boyfriend and I both agreed that if we were to come back to Bahamas, we would absolutely stay with Van again! It was walking distance to so much! Our favorite place was the tiki bikini hut. It’s about a 1.5 mile walk but worth it! Good food and drink specials! I would highly recommend this place if you want a low key and authentic experience.
very comfortable place to stay in NASSAU Bahamas
Nice neighborhood, the private beach is nearby, everything is walking distance. botanical garden, fort charlotte, even the downtown Nassau. If you are not familiar with island food, they have KFC, Burgerking, pizza hut you can choose from. Convenience to bus transportation for $1.25 fair
because there is no uber or lyft service on the Island
The property is very safe, clean, and well maintained.
The host was very caring and easy to talk to person
He is a onsite host ready to take care of any problems
If you are looking for a place not so touristy, this is the place! Nice, clean and comfortable bed, with a full kitchen.
The owner went above and beyond in helping us get a ride to the local grocery store and a taxi to the airport. He was quick to respond with either email or text.
A short walk to the beach, 25 minute walk to downtown, or catch the bus ( just down the block) for only a $1.25
Everyone was so nice that we chatted with. I would stay there again and highly recommend this quaint little apt. to anyone who want get away from the hustle and bustle of it all and save a little money.
Thanks again Van!
A week in the Bahamas
Van was great and went aboveand beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We would definitely stay there again.
The property is great but inside the apartment needs to be throughly cleaned. Curtains needs to be wash you could tell they where never been washed since hanged. Everything is dated. The property is infested with cats. The're all over, on the roof makes a lot of noise during the night. Great location. Owner answers call and text promptly. Big problem the A/C is outdated and apartment is hot as hell, only a/c in the bedroom, doesn't cool proper. The over head fan in the living room just circulates the hot air around, Does the owner care heck nah. If the A/C was better unit is would be great. No back up generators and light goes everyday for at least 3 hours. They're use to it so be prepared. I don't think the apartment values $80 per night, I had to bleach the whole place down. Pull the stove out behind it was filthy. Hope he get someone who knows how to clean properly. THe bed sheets are so old and rolled, it was uncomfortable to sleep with had to buy sheets. No changed of sheets, nothing we stayed a month, my boyfriend just buys what was needed and didn't complain. Owner needs to take pride in his property.
These negative comments were purely retaliation from a guest that was not allowed to extend his stay beyond his exit stay because of other bookings.
It was late afternoon before he finally left and he was upset and so we are not surpised at his negative comments.
Yes there were power outages Island wide and all locals and visitors suffered during this period. The local power company is making major changes to its power generation.
We have never had such negative feedback in our 15 years on homeaway.
We shared the comments with subsequent guest who were pleased with the cleanliness , air conditioning and ambiance of the property.
Can,t win them all.
Located just off West Bay Street, our property offers convenience and comfort during your stay. A short walk up the street takes you to Saunders beach, where you can spend a lazy afternoon soaking up sun. Just across the street from the beach are restaurants, a pharmacy and beverage store. All of the featured attractions of the island are only a short walk or easy bus-ride down Bay Street including the Ardastra Gardens and Zoo, Fish Fry, Haynes Oval Cricket Field, Forte Charlotte, and premier Cable Beach. The number 10 bus comes every 10 minutes and for the price of $1.25 will take you east to the shopping and dining district downtown or west to the resorts and restaurants around Cable Beach, and beyond to the Pirate Caves and secluded Orange Hill Beach. For those seeking to enjoy an afternoon of luxury on Paradise Island, a ferry boat can pick you up from downtown or, for the adventuresome; it is a 3 mile walk away.
