Very Nice vacation!
We spent 11 nights at this homeaway location from April 28 to May 9. Had a great time in the Bahamas. The rental was perfect for us, Clean, comfortable, quiet location only a 5 minute walk to the beach or the bus stop. We toured the complete island and bought groceries and cooked a lot at the apartment, everything was there that we needed. If your looking for a resort feel this is not it, but if you want to live near the locals and have your own space then this is it. Our host Van, gave us our privacy but answered any and all questions that we had, he even gave us a tour of the city when we first got there so we would know where some of the attractions, site seeing, and grocery stores were. We would highly recommended this property for vacationing away from the resorts. Thank you Van for your hospitality. Bob and Diane
a very nice hotel room - includes kitchenette
Stayed with Vann from sept 24 2016 through November 23 2016 - Initially, I had stayed with Comfort Inn - but was shocked to find a 50+% hotel tax on my 600/week rate became 954/week with City of Nassau and Paradise Island taxes - Vann a Home owner, running his own 1 bdrm/suite business are not subject to these taxes - I took the cheap tour and rode the bus in a complete loop, sitting up front and had the driver point out place to go & avoid, where to eat and what to see, best beaches, shop - cost a bit more than double fare of 1.25 - end of the 10 bus line - best seafood and 1/2 to 3/4 price of arawak cay fish fry. avoid cable beach - prices are higher due to large number of hotels along 7 mile strip, supermarket - atlantic ave, near wendy's both less expensive than New York City, NY royal bank of canada lower fees to get money 7 days a week, - You can walk into Nassau or Hail a Bus as the approach for 1.25 - (bus line map is available on line.) want to see more of nassau try number 12 bus - it goes by the airport cost 2.50, - I so liked Nassau - after my wonderful stay with Van & his family - I have rented year round on eastern end of New Providence island -
Quiet neighborhood. The host, Van, was great. He was nice enough to bring us to the store the day of arrival. The was a power outage but no more than 15 minutes within that time then came to check on us to make sure everything was fine. We had drinking water already set up for our use, clean towels, clean sheets, cable tv, iron, working appliances. What more could you need? The apartment was clean and spacious. The AC work great it had the room freezing at times but could easily be adjusted. The internet work great. The apartment was closes to fish fry, about a 10 to 15 walk. Downtown was about a 5to7 minute drive. We took public transportation which was $1.25 to ride.
Loved Every Part of Our Stay!
If you are looking for an affordable, relaxing, and local feel this is YOUR place! It is clean, safe, and felt like home. Van was an incredible host! He was so accommodating and personable, and whenever we had a question he was always there to help us. We couldn't have been any happier with our choice!! We look forward to returning here sometime in the future, we STILL talk about our trip and brag about our experience. I would choose here over any luxury hotel or resort! Any day!
Couple of our favorite parts:
- Being so close to multiple beaches
- Close to a bus stop
- Attractions walking distance
- Being able to eat breakfast every morning outside with a BEAUTIFUL view!
Great Bahamian Experience
For anyone wanting to experience a true Bahamian experience, why not live in the neighborhood like one! Van was a great host and we enjoyed our stay at his place. It's a quiet neighborhood and about 30 minute walk to downtown with great views. If you want to stay away from all the touristy hotels this is a great place to stay and you cannot beat his rates! Thanks again for your great hospitality Van!
Quel mensonge !!!
A déconseiller....
Located just off West Bay Street, our property offers convenience and comfort during your stay. A short walk up the street takes you to Saunders beach, where you can spend a lazy afternoon soaking up sun. Just across the street from the beach are restaurants, a pharmacy and beverage store. All of the featured attractions of the island are only a short walk or easy bus-ride down Bay Street including the Ardastra Gardens and Zoo, Fish Fry, Haynes Oval Cricket Field, Forte Charlotte, and premier Cable Beach. The number 10 bus comes every 10 minutes and for the price of $1.25 will take you east to the shopping and dining district downtown or west to the resorts and restaurants around Cable Beach, and beyond to the Pirate Caves and secluded Orange Hill Beach. For those seeking to enjoy an afternoon of luxury on Paradise Island, a ferry boat can pick you up from downtown or, for the adventuresome; it is a 3 mile walk away. https://maps.google.bs/maps?q=3+crispin+rd+nassau+bahamas&hl=en&ll=25.078739,-77.367332&spn=0.01102,0.021136&sll=25.034194,-77.351646&sspn=0.176376,0.338173&hnear=Crispin+Rd,+Chippingham,+Nassau,+New+Providence&t=m&z=16
