This beautiful, traditional stone-built farmhouse, dating back to the 16th century, is located in Santotís, municipality Trespaderne in Las Merindades, the most wonderful area of Burgos, Castilla y León , in the north of Spain.
Santotís is a very old village and it was an ancient connection point between the medieval cities of Frías and Medina de Pomar.
The house retains its walls reminiscent of defensive constructions of the
Middle Ages. During all these years Casa Aunt Irene has been changing and adapting to the needs of the moment, being used as a dwelling and block of oxen.
In the year 2011 it has been completely refurbished. It retains much character and charm, with oak doors and original walls. It has been decorated in a very personal style, combining old and original property with current solutions that ensure the comfort of the visitors.
Casa Aunt Irene offers catering if desired.
Because of its structure and situation, it makes an ideal location for weekend celebrations and for those who enjoy walking, cycling, golf, fishing, horse riding or simply relaxing.
Ten kilometers of Santotís is Oña, with the Exhibition "Las Edades del Hombre", "Monacatus", from May 23 until day November 4, 2012.
