Nice house, naughty rental company

The house was accommodating. The pool and fire pit were both great features. The island in the kitchen was ideal for a big group.

But this house isn't worth the hassle. I've never written a negative review before, but I couldn't stomach the way in which my group was treated. Please hear me out.

Dealing with the rental company was a nightmare. We arrived at the house to find a full, bug-infested trash can. When we called, the rental company said it was not their problem, and that we would have to wait until the next trash pick-up on Monday (after we'd be leaving). We also came to find the barbecue grill dirty, and had to clean it before we could use it. Finally, at the end of our stay, we cleaned the house thoroughly: wiping down surfaces, removing all trash, as well as washing all linens. Despite our efforts--we did exactly as we were told in the rental binder at the house--we were later saddled with a hefty cleaning fee (VRBO won't let me disclose the amount but imagine what you'd pay to have a multi-person staff clean a house for an entire day--it was significant). The rental company then directed me to a separate accounting company when I attempted to figure out why we were charged so much on the back end. After seeking--and failing to find--a phone number to talk to someone about the situation, I settled for an email, which took 9 days to get a response.

Finally the accounting company told me the fee was justified because the house is a part of the "sharing economy." Which is to say, the rental company charged us because we didn't have the house 100% ready for the next occupants. We did the majority of the work to clean the house--spending hours on the morning of our departure--not the cleaning company! Yet we were told, and I quote, "the fact is that you left the home in a condition that needed numerous people to work to get the home ready for the next renters." But that's precisely the rental company's job! Not the renter! I realize this isn't a hotel, but the owner and rental company are always the ones charged with preparing the place, not the renter! That's how it works. I have never seen such a fee as the one we were subjected to in all my other VRBO stays.

If you don't mind no assistance as well as hidden charges, then this house is for you. Otherwise, try to find a house that is not farmed out to a rental company that just wants to take your money.

Great property for team getaway / retreat

The Delcoa property had a great layout for our group.

Pros: We are a forum group with 8 members and not one of us felt we had drew a short straw in terms of room selection. There is ample common space and furniture both indoors and outdoors. Overall we were very impressed with the home. There were bigscreen TV's all throughout the house with speakers in the ceiling. There were also plenty of bathrooms which were well equipped. The pool was a great temperature for swimming and the hot tub was also nice. The outdoor pool table was also a hit.

Cons: We did have to screw in and secure the dishwasher which appeared to be brand new. The dishes were put away dirty by the previous group and we had to scrub them all clean.

Perfect backyard and location

We loved it! We had a great time! The delcoa house has a perfect backyard. We were a bunch of our friends for a wedding.

We were twelve people in the house, there was a lot of room for out-of-towners.

The bathroom situation was very good, having so many bathrooms in the house was very good for the amount of people we had. The house was clean. The location was perfect, around everything that we wanted to do.

Loved the house! Wish we could have stayed longer!

The Delcoa house was great. It was awesome. We loved it. Overall the house was beautiful.

We took an annual football trip. It was our annual get together with the guys. We had a great time.

We wish we could have stayed longer. We used the pool, it was great. The guys used the Jacuzzi too. It looks like a resort in the backyard.

The location was good for us, not far from downtown Scottsdale and the football game. If I go back I would want to rent this house again.

The house exceeded our expectations

We came to Arizona for a friend’s bachelor party, football game and golfing with the guys. It was great.

The Delcoa house exceeded our exceptions. When the guys got into the house it was great, it was in awesome condition.

We were super happy with it. The house was in a good location.

It was a great size for our party. Everyone had their own room. The pool was great.

The service the company gave was great. Everyone related to the property. Everything went smoothly which was nice.

One of the best houses i have been in!

The Delcoa property was very nice. The house was one of the best I have been in! I dealt with one of the best hosts that reacted very fast and solved the problems. The house was very nice and good. I came with my wife and children.

My family enjoyed it. I would like to come back to it.

  • Rate discounts are available for Saturday-to-Saturday stays. Minimum night stay requirements are affected by whether or not your projected stay creates calendar efficiency by tagging onto already existing booking dates. All occupancies require that renters post a $500 Property Services and Contract Compliance Deposit with special terms and conditions. Renters may pay the post departure clean-up fees called a "make-ready fee" as a flat fee of $560 at the time of booking, or renters may pay the actual cleanup charges after departure from the home.

    The nightly rates quoted in the rate chart or displayed on any third-party advertisement is an average of the base rent for periods of time described as a Seasons.
