Designed for families and fun, 'The Treasure Chest' is a cozy cottage that offers a great ocean front location. It is located near famous historic St. Augustine sights, World Golf Village and many other nearby attractions. On our quiet beach, you will love the sounds and gorgeous view of the Atlantic Ocean. Treasure Chest is a casual, cozy, budget friendly beach house. And feel free to bring Fido, because it is also pet friendly.
The property is not handicapped friendly. If you have questions, please contact the owner.
We are just finishing up a very pleasant stay at Treasure Chest. We used to live inland near here and come back to see friends and enjoy the beach. This cozy cottage worked very well for entertaining a few friends in casual beach style. The gas grill came in very handy, as did the parking. The kitchen is small but cute and very well stocked. No ice maker but I prefer to buy ice since the water is, uh, Florida water. The umbrella on the deck provided nice shade. The property manager was very responsive to a couple of minor issues. The deck table and chairs are getting a bit rusty (put a towel on your chair) and the deck wood itself is splintering and will need replacement soon. I would not recommend this cottage for small children until that project is done. But it was fine with teens and adults. We wore our flip flops or walked carefully to avoid a cut or splinter. The yard is fenced if you close the gates across the driveway. Also, we were able to use plastic deck chairs to block off part of the deck to allow our terrier to keep us company on the deck. (I wasn't comfortable leaving her unsupervised down below, but that due to her nature, not the property.) Most interior doors don't lock (which bothered my teen when he wanted to change or shower). The view is lovely and the beach uncrowded. The cottage is walking distance or easy drive to Publix and restaurants. I love the location.
All the information on the house as well as the reviews are spot on. Wonderful warm and well appointed house with a unimpeded view of the ocean which is key for us. St-Augustine offers a much wider range of restaurants and activities than most beach towns. David (owner) was very responsive and cooperative. Highly recommend this rental.
This was our first time to the St. Augustine area. The Treasure Chest beach house was perfect for our 2 families.
The house was clean and tidy, with plenty of room, an updated kitchen, and a wonderful oceanfront view. The beach in front of the house was generally quiet, even for the holidays. Perfect for long walks, sunning, and swimming. St. Augustine is about 3 miles away and full of shops, restaurants, and sightseeing. Our favorite restaurants are 10 minutes north of the house on the river... Aunt Kate's and Cap's on the Water. Having a Publix grocery store, pizza, and Chinese in Vilano Beach (1/2 mile away) was convenient.
This was our 2nd time staying, this house works out great for us, the view is fabulous and the fenced in yard is perfect for our dogs. Look forward to going back again . We saw dolphins also again this year.
Cozy, comfy beach house, with a fantastic location. Nice upgraded kitchen and living area. Caps, Aunt Kate's, St. Augustine and Publix all within minutes! Fencing was great for the dog and deck views were lovely for sun rise viewings. Suggestions: refrigerator with an icemaker (David says it is being done), king bed in master and move washer and dryer upstairs in the house rather than the carport. Good beachfront property for the money! Fast response from property manager when we had grill issues. We'll be back!
The house has no great architectural appeal, but is well-appointed and quite serviceable. Nothing lacking. Gorgeous beach views. Three small bedrooms were cute and meet our needs. A bit of storage available in the ground level laundry room. Hammock, BBQ, boogie boards, and other recreational niceties were a bonus. House backs onto A1A, but traffic noise was not an issue.
'Treasure Chest' is located 3 miles from historic St. Augustine and 20 miles from posh Ponte Vedra. We have several public golf courses within a 20 minute drive, and St, Augustine offers many different activities. Stroll the quaint shops on St. George Street or explore the antique shops and art galleries scattered throughout town. Tour the town by trolley or horse and buggy; don't miss the Alligator Farm, Ghost Tours, Lightner Museum, Fort Matanzas, and the many historical attractions!
If you love water sports, you have come to the right place! You can rent surf boards, jet skis, canoes, and other boats; you can go para sailing, hot air ballooning or fishing in the ocean or the Intracoastal Waterway! All of our guests get discounts to several local businesses!
In Ponte Vedra and Jacksonville, you can go horse back riding on the beach, take surfing lessons, visit the great Jacksonville Zoo, or take in a Jaguars game!
We have something for everyone--but most guests love our beach house the most! You may never want to leave!
