Relaxing, fun, stress free vacation: Every time I go to this vacation home, I can feel the tension and stress just melt away. The views from the house are gorgeous. We're right on the bank of the Saco river, so in the summer, some days we spend all day just lazing in the river, picnicking on the large flat rocks in the middle of the river, exploring along the river's edge, or tubing downriver. The house is on a large, flat lawn, so it's perfect for badminton, volleyball or other games. There are so many trails and waterfalls in the national forest nearby. A ride on the old North Conway Scenic Railroad or the Mount Washington Cog Railway is fun for the whole family. In the fall, the foliage is spectacular; that's our favorite time to hike. In the winter, we're in the middle of so many ski areas: Attitash/Bear Peak, Black, Wildcat, Cranmore, Bretton Woods, and a little further to Cannon Mountain. There are cross country ski areas and snow-mobile rentals right in Bartlett. You can ski from our house over closed railroad track. And you can build a snow fort in our yard or a snowman family! It's a great place to vacation any time of year.
Relax and enjoy this lovely 3 bedroom chalet with waterfront on the Saco River and spectacular mountain views of the White Mtns. Cathedral ceiling living room with full view of Hart's Ledge. 15 minutes to StoryLand. Large stone fireplace, wood stove. Wrap around deck. Large lawn, great for outdoor games like badminton or volleyball, or building great snow forts or snow men in winter. Great skiing in the winter, 10 minutes from Attitash/Bear Peak and Bartlett Cross Country Skiing. 20-25 minutes to Bretton Woods and Mt Washington, Black Mtn, Cranmore, Wildcat, and Pinkham Notch. Walk-in basement for easy storage of skis and sporting equipment. Great location for: hiking, mountain climbing, swimming, tubing/canoeing, golf, backpacking, Conway Scenic Railroad, White Mountain National Forest, StoryLand, shopping and all kinds of winter sports, including snow mobiling. 20 minutes to Echo Lake and North Conway outlet malls. The river behind the house is great fun. Large flat rocks for picnics in the middle of the river. Short walk to a great swimming 'hole'. Excellent foliage in the fall.
We have owned this house for many years and love it and love the area. There is so much to do, any season of the year. Our daughter grew up spending weeks in the summer playing in the river, and winter holidays on the ski slopes. Lots of wonderful memories. As a family, we like to hike on the many beautiful trails in the White Mountains. We're happy to help you plan your trip if you would like.
It's rare to find a property that has both waterfront and mountain views. It's great to just sit in the living room or at the dining room table on a cold day and just look out the big windows and sliding doors at Hart's Ledge and the mountains. In the summer, it 's so much fun to play in the river, or walk down to one of the best swimming holes in the Saco.
My family stayed here in July. The location is fabulous. Close to so many things to do; including taking the Cog to the top of Mt. Washington, driving the Kancamangus Highway with numerous stops for hiking, water falls, picnicking, etc. Conway for shopping.
The house is located on an open lot with a beautiful view of the mountain from the porch and the living room. It is also located on the Saco river. This was a perfect playground for my kids (9 &11). We spent 2 full days just walking and playing in the river. There is a great beachy area on the other side that you can easily walk to to relax with a picnic and enjoy the sun. Don't forget your watershoes! The only challenge we had is no phone service from AT&T, which ended up to be a blessing. There is Wi-Fi.
Lastly, Andrea was fabulous to work with. She gives a lot of information about the house, local things to do, etc. The house had all the amenities needed for a week stay. We would definitely stay here again.
We spent a long weekend in the house with some friends hiking in the Whites during an extremely cold weekend (temps below zero each morning).
As we were were snow-shoeing up the mountain in below zero temps we were motivated since we knew we'd be returning to a comfortable, warm house with some fresh chili and wine waiting for us. The gas stove and wood stove were PERFECT! Just a perfect weekend in the mountains among friends. The house has everything you could possibly need, tons of cookware, comfy beds and chairs, games and did I mention a great view! Right on the river and a short ride (or long walk) to shopping and eating. Our group decided right away we loved the home we'll make this an annual event since we had such a good time.
This Bartlett Chalet is one of our favorite get-a-ways! We have been enjoying it for years during all seasons. Each time we see more improvements and conveniences. The owners truly care about their guests. It's not just a rental. It truly does feel like a home away from home for us!
What a fabulous location! The view of Hart's Ledge from the living room and deck was a constant reminder that we were in the midst of the White Mountains! Our proximity to the Saco River, especially a natural water slide just a short walk away, was a highlight for our teenage sons. We were able to make great meals in the modern kitchen and on the gas grill, and eat either on the deack or at the dining room table (comfortably seating the seven of us, with room for more). In the evening we would go out for ice cream nearby and then return to the chalet to enjoy the endless night sky (free from the city lights, we could even see the Milky Way!). There was plenty of sleeping and closet space for our group: two couples and three teenagers. The furniture in the living room appeared to be brand new, all the rooms were very clean, and linens were included.
We would love to go back in another season! The fall foliage viewing would be spectacular, and for ski season the walk-out basement would be great for wet gear storage and we could warm up by the wood stove.
The owner provided us with a listing of local attractions that helped with planning out our days and she was responsive to our queries. We would definitely recommend this chalet for a family and friends mountain get-away.
We had such a wonderful experience at this place. The chalet is very charming and there was plenty of room for my family and another couple who went with us. The house has everything you need and Andrea was so accommodating to all of our needs. We enjoyed swimming in the river and going down to the train trellis where there is a place for swimming and a natural waterslide. The location is perfect for spending some nice quiet and relaxing time. I can't say enough about this place. We were so happy that our plan is to stay for a week next year. Don't hesitate on booking this place, you won't regret it!

When going on a get away i have to take into consideration my husbands disability, first and foremost. Andrea was very honest and helpful before we even booked the home. Beautiful views, would go again! Very nice get away.
