Why Anna O Connor chose Roquebrun

I bought this property becasue of the superb view from it and because of its accessibiity to so many airports, cities (Barcelona, Tolouse, Montpellier and TJV to Paris), historical sites, architectural sites amd becasue of the breathtaking scenenry in the area. You can ski in the Pyrennees within one and a half hours drive or go to the Opera in Montpellier with an hour and twenty minutes or shop in Barcelona with a two and a half hour drive.

What makes this apartment unique

The view from the house was absolutely magnificent and the ambiance in the village was so gentle and easy. Everybody says 'Bonjour' or 'Bonsoir' whatever is appropriate to the time of day.

Being able to sit by the river and read while ducks and geese swam by gave me a real feeling of being back in touch with nature.

Relax, take it easy...

  • 5 of 5

Hi Anna !

This studio is like a cocoon, very welcoming and clean with a stunning view on the river Orb and the hills behind.

We spent hell of time there.

There's enough cooking tools to cook for yourself or you can go eat something in one of the restaurants of Roquebrun.

We definitely recommend the flat and we hope we'll come back soon.

Beautiful studio, beautiful view, relaaaaaaaxing

  • 5 of 5

Hello Anna,

the studio is a dream come true. You are very lucky to own something like this.

What a great view! One can sit at the window for hours and enjoy and become quieter and quieter.

Food is bought a few hundred meters away. We cooked for ourselves or eat well at one of the restaurants/ pizzeria nearby.

There´s a little bistro where locals meet and tourists are also welcome. It´s at the center of the village and is passed by everyone who drives through Roquebrun (lots of waves and hellos). It also seems to be the social center of Roquebrun.

Those who love vines from Languedoc (Mourvèdre, Caringnon, Grenache, Syrah,...) are in wine-heaven.

The people are very friendly towards tourists- which is not true for all areas of France.

You can go swimming in a basin in the beautiful little river Orb just a few hundred meters away. There´s also a (stony) beach.

We never had holidays this relaxing before.

We highly recommend this place, and we will come back, and most likely some of our friens also.

Best regards,

Margarethe and Robert

A Splendid view to the River from a nice Studio

  • 5 of 5

Dear Anna,

Thank you so much for our stay in the Studio. Everything was as described.

It was a very good base for our holiday week in Roquebrun, a place we have visited so many times, but the Studio was for the first but not the last time!

We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in Roquebrun and carried a number of the splendid wine with us home.

We enjoyed a trip to “les Halles” in Narbonne and a trip to “Le village de Potiers in Saint-Jean-De-Fos”. Both places can be recommended among the big amount of interesting places inside a 1-1½ hour drive.

Ole and Ruth B.M.

Enjoying the simple things in life.

  • 5 of 5

Hello Anna, thank you very much for such an enjoyable stay. Roquebrun is simply spellbinding, it took us two full weeks to stop dreaming about our 6 day stay! We really enjoyed ourselves and were pleasantly surprised by the studios. Everything was thought of! It was also really efficient for us to be able to wash our own clothes with the washing machine. See you again next year.

This property is situated in one of the most beautiful villages in the Languedoc in the Herault region of the South of France. The river Orb runs through the village. It is also in the center of the Parc Regionale du Haut Languedoc. St Chinian town, which is the hub of the AOC wine region is 10 minutes by car as indeed are some of the best boutique vineyards in the South of France. The house is within 20 Kms of Beziers and 50 minutes from Caracassonne. Montpellier and Toulouse are each about a 2 hour drive away and Narbonne is a mere 40 minutes. Barcelona is 3 hours away. The Mediterranean is 35 minutes by road as are the beaches at Serignan Plages and Valras Plage. The old Greek port of Cap d'Agde is also the same distance as these beaches. You can be there and back in a day to see the famous aqueduct in Nimes. The town of Narbonne has a magnificent cathedral, superb Sunday market and one can also view an excavation of the old Roman via Dolmitia in the centre of the town. The canal du midi with its famous 9 locks is just a 15 minute drive away. Beziers itself has three beautiful cathedrals, some carefully restored old squares, great boutiques and cafes in the backstreet lanes and several Michelin restaurants. There is also a 1 star Michelin Restaurant in Berlou which is only 10 minutes by car from Roquebrun. Last time I was there the set menu for dinner was only 37€ per head!

If you travel up the valley behind the village there are 2 lakes where one can water-ski, abseil, sail and fish. On the way home you can stop in a truly beautiful village called Fraisses-Sur-Agout

and hire a fishing rod for €1 and then pay for the trout as you catch them in a trout farm stretch of the river. Best fun we've had a a family for years! To see more photographs and to learn more about this property go to www.placevieille.eu
