A Little Gem

  • 5 of 5

I am at this minute sitting in this lovely house. It is clean, spacious and relaxing. I adore the beautiful prints and art work which decorate the walls.

I am here this weekend with the rest of my family, (husband + 3 grown up children). It is my eldest daughter's birthday and they have gone to spend the day climbing Ben Nevis. I have an illness which prevents me joining in but will join them later for a celebratory meal. I'm thoroughly enjoying relaxing at the house in such peaceful surroundings. The wifi is excellent and I'm getting up to date reports from Ben Nevis! If I wished I could spend the entire time watching anything I liked on the Sky TV or from the wide choice of DVD's here.

The house is spacious with plenty of room for either a group of adults or for those with younger children. There are plenty of games and toys to keep everyone entertained.

The kitchen contains everything you could think of, including a nespresso coffee machine so remember to bring your own pods.

Communication with Nathalie, the owner has been excellent. Thank you for all your patience with us and your help.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Now I'm off to enjoy the rest of my holiday.

Nicely appointed cottage and great location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for 2 weeks because we wanted ample time to explore The Highlands. During this time we hiked, visited several castles, did some Scotch tasting, went to the Isles of Skye and Harris and so much more. It was always a pleasure to return to the cottage at the end of the day; here we could relax, drink some wine, have a light dinner, etc. all in the comfort of a home that has all the conveniences necessary to do this. Our only issue was with the heating which is why I gave the rating 4 stars. We are early risers (6 AM) and we could not manually adjust the heating up until the furnace came on at 8 AM so we were chilly for a bit in the AM and had to bundle up in sweaters and jackets. I understand from Nathalie that she is changing the thermostat out due to this issue. You may want to inquire, if you are sensitive to a chilly home in the AM, if this has been completed. Overall, a wonderful location and perfect for our needs.

Lovely House

  • 5 of 5

This is a nice, modern house in a very peaceful, attractive location. Spean Bridge is a little limited in terms of where you can eat and drink but there are options from the very basic at the Spean Bridge Hotel to other end of the spectrum at Russell’s and the Station Restaurant in the middle which is both affordable and has decent food and beer.

The only thing I would say about the house is the central heating is a bit erratic but that’s easily dealt with. However, make sure you do not shut the kitchen to hallway door when you go out or you’ll come back to find every room in the house like a sauna apart from the hall!

In summary I would not hesitate to stay in this house again because it’s well appointed, comfortable and in a lovely location.

Owner's Response: hello - I'm glad you had a nice time in our house. Very sorry about the glitsch with the heating. This is the first time it has ever happened and we are changing the thermostat this week so it will not happen again. We hope to be able to welcome you again. Nathalie

Warm & Welcoming with all mods cons

  • 5 of 5

Ideal for two families. Facilities were excellent. Wonderful welcome from the neighbour who looks after the property and she couldn't do enough for us. House was kitted out with everything you could need. We had a lovely stay. Would highly recommend it. We walked up Ben Nevis whilst we were here and the house was situated in a good position not too far from the Tourist route ascent.
