We have been enjoying cabin time in Cross Lake for the past 25 years. We love the area and all Cross Lake provides, the beautiful pine trees, the crisp clean air, all the recreational fun and our beautiful lakes. We hope you will enjoy spending time here too creating memories with family and friends.
Tim purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Tim chose Crosslake
We chose this property for the level lake shore lot that everyone can enjoy with wooded privacy on one side, no steep hills or steps to climb to get to the lake, the beautiful pristine water of Trout Lake and the close proximity of the cabin to the lake. It is also ideally located with the conveniences of Cross Lake just minutes away.

Pinecone was a perfect girls weekend getaway. Beautiful cabin and property - well furnished and full kitchen made our weekend easy and relaxing. Perfect for time with friends or family. Thank you!!
A Cozy Getaway
We enjoyed our experience at the cabin. It's a lovely place.
The weather during our staying was rainy and cold, but we were cozy and comfy in the cabin.
We would recommend this place to our friends and definitely will come back again.
Thanks Mary and Tim for offering such a great place to the public.
We had a wonderful weekend at the Pinecone Lodge. Beautiful, cozy cabin that had everything you need. It’s a great setting for a “reset” relaxing getaway and it’s surrounded by various restaurants, bars, breweries and shops so there’s something for everyone. Already looking forward to going back!
We had a Wonderful Weekend!
The Pinecone was a a very well kept cabin. Decorated very nicely, clean and very well stocked. Nice comfortable sitting areas and the view from the cabin was beautiful! The large table was great for playing board games and we loved the campfire with the s'mores! also, the water system was very much appreciated.
We had a Wonderful Weekend!
WHAT A MAGNIFICENT RETREAT!!
We just left Pinecone Lodge after spending five of the most wonderful days of the BEST family vacation in many years at this glorious retreat! It couldn't have been better!
From our first steps inside the door, this cabin just took our breath away! It could be on the cover of a magazine! This cabin is IMMACULATE and just simply MAGNIFICENT! The décor is completely rustic in every way, from the log siding outside, to every inch of the inside, in knotty pine walls and rustic furniture, reflecting the beauty of the north woods.
Tim and Mary have gone to great lengths to carry the rustic character out in all the furniture, even in the bedroom lamps, which boast of original Thermos jugs and bottles, and in the beautiful snowshoe sconces, adding perfect touches to light the wall above the stairway to the loft! And, the darling pot belly fireplace provides nice warmth and a cozy ambience to the cabin's rustic décor too!
They've left nothing out in providing their guests with everything necessary for a wonderful vacation there!
Lots of board games are provided. There are plenty of pots, pans, and dishes for making any type of meal, and the dining table is huge to accommodate several people. The bedrooms are very roomy. The bathrooms are beautiful. The loft sleeps four very comfortably. The lake is just a few steps out the door on flat elevation - NO stairs to contend with! PERFECT!
They have a wonderful porch out front, and a patio on the side, and a great lakeside fire pit too! In addition, we enjoyed the two kayaks there during the days, which were really fun!!
We also enjoyed dining at Manhattan Beach Club, which is just
a very short ten minute walk from the cabin!
This cabin couldn't possibly be a more PERFECT retreat! We all felt we hit the "Pot of Gold" at the end of the rainbow at Pinecone Lodge! We will DEFINITELY be coming back next year for a longer stay, and calling it our "Home away from Home" until we build our own cabin up north in a few years. Tim and Mary also couldn't have been more wonderful hosts, and always responded back quickly with any questions we had.
This cabin is in the heart of a treasure trove of several great connecting lakes on the Whitefish Chain, complete with a spot at the dock to park a boat! Next year, we look forward to bringing our boat up there to explore more areas on the connecting lakes!
Thanks Tim and Mary, for a fabulous family vacation!
Five stars isn't enough! You get 25!!
Great time at Big Trout Lake!
This is a wonderful cabin for a vacation up north with a young family. The cabin is wonderfully update with very nice cabin decor. Both bedrooms have a view of the lake and the loft with 2 queen beds was perfect for kids. The flat lot out to the lake was great for playing catch and the water was seaweed free around the dock. Not to mention, the owners provided 2 Kayaks for our use so we could get out on the water. Tim and May have thought of everything and even provided a nice treat (smores) when we checked in. We loved the weekend and look forward to doing it again!
Cross Lake is a short convenient drive, an approximate drive of 3-4 miles for restaurants, marina's, bait, gas, snowmobile and jet ski rentals, groceries, shopping and so much more.
The WHARF is one of our favorites located by water in the Rush Lake channel between Cross Lake and Rush Lake. Check out their Breakfast menu and the Caygun breakfast! Great burgers and right on the water, outdoor seating is great! There is also Moonlight Bay bar and grill in Crosslake accessible by water or car, a couple of great restaurants to hit while you're out boating for the day.
