Great place for the whole Family

  • 5 of 5

From the word go we felt right at home. The hosts are wonderfully welcoming and showed us around our cottage upon arrival. The cottages are very clean and open plan and fitted out to a high standard. The kids can play in a wonderful save and fun environment. The grounds are huge and beautifully kept. For us the location was great. 10km to Honfleur on bikes along the Seine. We hired bikes from the tourist centre in Beauzeville. Les (the owner of the cottages) even assisted with bike repair. The little restaurant around the corner serves lovely food at a very reasonable price. All in all a great place! Highly recommend

Absolute heaven

  • 5 of 5

This place is absolutely amazing and we enjoyed a fantastic family holiday here. The property itself is stunning and a real credit to the owners, who went out of their way to help us whenever we needed them. The location is perfect for nearby Honfleur, a town which has everything you will need to help you enjoy your holiday. I would highly recommend staying here, you will not regret it.

Great accommodation in beautiful settings

  • 4 of 5

We arrived the first day of the summer holidays and was delighted to be so close to Honfelur. There was 6 people in our party, I wouldn't recommend the accommodation for this amount of people as my two children had to 'top and tail' and me and my husband were in single beds. The garden is amazing, perfectly kept, the kids had lots of fun making friends with other children on site and playing hide and seek. The Inside the property could do with a bit of a make over as lots of light bulbs had gone, We couldn't get the TV to work, wifi only worked if you stood outside the owners house. Location wise, perfect. A two minute drive down the road and you'll find a lovely bakery, pub and restaurant, also a small shop. Beaches are lovely and there are some great restaurants by the harbour. If you don't speak good French, it may be worth investing in a French book/translator book as most menus are in French only.

The best of times

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for two weeks in this cottage and will have a lifetime of great memories.

The accomodations are perfect - the home is very clean and includes everything you could need for your holiday. The size is bigger than expected. All the furnishings were comfortable. The wifi worked fine.

THe location is what makes this home prefect. It is centered in Normandy in a location where you canreach everything for a day trip. It is included right in the middle of 3 of the Lonely Planet best drive in Frances - the cheese tour, the Monet tour and the D-day tour. We visited sites in all and always make it back early enough to relax in the lovely grounds.

We recommend this home to all - the Websters will show you a great time.

Short break in Normandy

  • 5 of 5

We would highly recommend this accommodation. It is ideal for exploring this area of Normandy and the Gite provides more than adequate facilities.Mr and Mrs Webster(the owners) are very friendly and helpful and have done a wonderful job in renovating Cherry Tree Cottage and its surrounding gardens. We found that all decriptions of the property were accurate.

lots of small kids in Aug!

  • 3 of 5

We went as a family with two older children as on the reviews I read it said it was suitable for us. I would say this was a place for familys with small children in August as we found there to be lots of them, they cycle and look into the gite all the time, one litle boy even knocked his head on the door glass as he couldnt see in clearly! So if you are past the point of being around small children dont go in August!

The Gite is also near the Sienne River so there is no beach nearby, the nearest one that was really nice was in Trouville which was a good half an hour drive away. (As with 'all' other places a good twenty minutes away from the Gite). There is lots of lovely countryside nearby and there are a lot of sites to go and see as long as you dont mind having a drving holiday and using this as a base.

It also said we would have wifi, but the owners went back to England when we arrived and seemed to take it with them!! So make sure you get all your details and postcodes needed for travelling around as you wont be able to look on the internet. There welcoming pack was just full of papers and magazines that were left by other visitors and I wouldnt really call it a welcome pack.

No I dont think I would recommend this to family or freinds even though we did have a lovely holiday but that was due to going out and about. The cleaning wasnt done to a very high spec, there were cobwebs all over the ceiling and in the corners and it just didnt feel very clean.

Owner's Response: We would agree with the comments regarding the children, we pride ourselves in providing a safe and secure place for children of all ages to enjoy their holidays an inportant part of which is making new friends and and playing games, our facilities bring out the best in children. Any age and nationality are able to join in together and play together under the watchfull eye of their parents in our extensive and coulerful gardens. For those wishing to have a quieter break most of the rest of the year is ideal for just that. We do not claim to be near sandy beaches as we are in a rural environment where the beauty of the Normandy countryside can be experienced.
